I had a terrible experience with Jennifer. Before we met, I sent her some sample photos to see if this was possible. I got there and didn't want my hair fully blue. I showed her the attached photos. During the entire 2 hours I was there I was captive to her terrible story about her soon to be ex husband. I felt bad for her after story and tipped her well and left. I got home to not one blue piece of hair as you can see. She wanted me to come in to fix it but I don't think I could listen any more. I wanted a partial refund which she finally said she would give and never did. I wish she would had told me my hair didn't take before she let me leave the door.

If you're looking for a good hair stylist in Elk Grove... Nicole Rowell is your girl! She is so talented and passionate about what she does. She's realistic in getting you to the color that you want to be all while being safe about it. Her blending skills are truly amazing! Everything is seamless and the color blends she comes up with are out of this world. She takes her time and makes sure everything is how you want it to be. Most salons I've been too aren't a friendly atmosphere if you're not their client. Not this one! I've been welcomed by everyone at the salon that it truly feels like a home away from home. Each stylist that's there will greet you and they're all so nice and supportive of one another. They praise one another's work and it's truly a great place to go. It's a cute little house with cute pink accent walls and cute decor. It's truly one of the cutest salons I've ever been to. Book your next hair appt with Nicole, you won't be disappointed. Five stars all the way. These ladies take pride & ownership in their work and go the extra mile to make clients happy, in this line of business that is very hard to find. Jennifer cut my 10 yr old daughter's kinky crazy curly hair perfectly, she was very kind and made her feel very comfortable. Kaitlyn (who has the best hairstyle I have ever seen btw) is fantastic- super sweet & knows her stuff! I will definitely return & all in all I am so happy to have stumbled upon this place. read more

This was the first time I went to The Dollhouse. I had an appointment with Nicole. My hair is short and sometimes stylists just want use clippers on my hair. Nicole preferred to do a scissor cut which I prefer also. She was very diligent to ensure that my hair was the right length and shaped to my head. She listened to my input and was so easy to work with. After my cut, I immediately booked another appointment. Looking forward to seeing what she can do with my color. read more

This is by far the best (and cutest) salon I have been to and Nicole is by far the best stylist I have been to! I had a bad experience going lighter prior to seeing Nicole that kind of traumatized me. So I have been super hesitant to who I let touch my hair; but now that I have been seeing Nicole my hair is exactly where I want it to be! She is amazing at color and actually listens and achieves what I want done to my hair! Whatever your hair goals are, Nicole is the girl to get you to them! read more

Cutest salon and super sweet girls. I had an appointment with Nicole, who transformed my hair in less then 3 hours. I love the color, cut and style. She showed me how to style it myself. I recently got a haircut from Nicole! Nicole was an amazing hairstylist who made sure I was comfortable and got an idea of how I wanted to get my hair cut. With Nicole's creativity, she was able to cut my hair to my desired length and give my hair dimensions with textured layers and give me a look that's mixed with soft ends and a blunt cut.( I believe is what it's called.) Anyways, she went above and beyond my expectations and I absolutely love my hair cut. It was my first time getting my hair cut by Nicole and at The Dollhouse, but I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. The salon itself is small, so when you are driving, it may be easy to miss. Just remember that it has a bright pink door and that you are able to park on the street or behind the salon. HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting your haircut at the dollhouse and by Nicole! read more

I had such an amazing experience at The Dollhouse with Nicole! The salon is so adorable and clean. Nicole gave me a haircut and did my hand tied extensions. I'm very particular with my extensions and she did exactly what I envisioned. She also helped me find products for my hair type. Overall great experience and I'll definitely be going back! Found my new favorite hairstylist, Nicole!! She has absolutely helped to transform my hair from dry, brittle and horrible coloring to looking healthy and beautiful! I tell Nicole which style and colors I am looking for and she goes above and beyond every time. She is always careful while using bleach to lighten up my natural color so it doesn't all break off (THANK YOU!!) Nicole even recommends shampoos, conditioners, and oils that will help to protect and strengthen my hair, they have worked amazingly! Nicole provides excellent communication during the booking process which is so important when I have a busy schedule. I purchased the groupon deal from this place. One thing I loved about Jennifer, she responds via text very fast. While she was cutting my hair, she had conversations with me but I felt like she was either tired or end of the day...not in a happy mood. Overall hair experience with her was okay. Not sure, if I'll go back. I didn't feel that connected with her. Anyways, the inside of the dollhouse, the chairs were sparkly and pretty. Truly a little cute little girly place. I had my hair done by Kaitilyn. She was difficult to sched with because she is so booked out... Which I understand. She did an ombré on my hair and the brown she used looked really good when I left. Went home and showered, within a few times my hair was fading red! I hesitated even texting her but I did & she told me she could fix it in 4 weeks! I was like cool I'll wait 4 weeks & have a color I hate! And she is super short and rude during communication. I never went back. But the salon is very cute and very clean! I just felt like she should have had more pride in her work read more

Sounds funny, but eh, at least I don't have the mushroom top head look. My thick hair and the cut I want is not an easy hair cut to do. The description sounds funny, but with gel it's a clean military look or akin to school kids going to grade school. Not my thing but, the maturity aura can be fixed with longer hair on top. Believe the best way to say is it that I have a heart shaped face. That means the top of my hair should look like an egg to my preference. The haircut I want isn't for the faint. Mess up and you cannot fix it. It's why most fades on my hair type sticks out and is not flat on the sides like a flat top. Once Mindy understood I was willing to take the risk, I was rewarded in something that many hairdressers cannot cut and or is willing to do. Which is to fade free hand, then rat tail comb fade the edges on top with a clipper and texture with scissors. Mind you I watched a long time before giving her the go ahead to take the risk. Sounds a lot of work right? Hair dressers will complain doing this type of cut. It's a lot of work, will take time. Mindy does this for me. And for that I tip well. To be fair, I get my hair cut once a month. But it's usually the best way to learn as the hair has grown out and everything needs to be redone again. Note. Tip what you can, I usually tip hourly wage max to half. Mindy gets more, that's how much I like the cut. 15 to 25 percent minimum wage is a good tip. That being said Mindy takes time, is patient, and remembers you. Everything you would want in a hairdresser. I really should come every two weeks but I got things to do. Mindy does textbook style hair cutting. Which doesn't work with my hair cause you don't really expect an Asian with an Afro like hair type, thick, and straight. Takes time to learn cultured hair types. My hair is a rarity. Mindy learned quickly how to cut and tame it. Qualities of a true hair dresser. Note. I got my hair cut by Lynn too. She's good, but she's busy and I believe she understands my haircut and hair is annoying to do. The guy and new girl are good too. Just a preference and patience to be had.

On top of that, he offered to share his expertise with the stylist at the other salon to help address some of the technical issues he had seen on my hair. I called Friday for two Saturday haircut appointments and they scheduled me right away. I don't think they have a website or socials so just give them a call to schedule. We showed up and waited a couple minutes for them to finish their previous appointments, it was really busy! There's about 6 chairs for those to wait in, and 6 stations where they were cutting hair. I was seated with Angie, showed her an inspo picture and she gave me exactly what I wanted, a trim and quick style. After seeing the final results, due to my hair type she recommended trying a new style/cut and I was in the mood to try something new so she went out of her way to re-cut and style my hair. She showed me two styling options and was very patient even though she basically had to redo my hair. She said they also do pre-event styling so if you have an event where you want your hair to look a little nicer, you can schedule with them starting at $45+. But I left feeling confident and ready to go out even just with the cut I received In total we paid $65 for two haircuts (no washing, just trim and styling) which is a steal in my opinion! He then charged me $95 for roots color, bad choppy trim and a blow out. I paid $100 in San Mateo to fix his choppy hair cut. I can't go back again unless it's just to color roots and blow out.

I called the day before to schedule an appointment and the guy who answered the phone was very professional, took my name and helped me work out a time that was best for me and my mother to come in the next day. The next day when I arrived, we were quickly ushered to sit in our chairs (for a pedicure) and even given water as we were able to enjoy the massage chairs. The staff doing our pedicures were very friendly and attentive to doing exactly what we requested. The aesthetics of this shop is very pleasing as the shop itself is clean, neat and orderly. They also have a myriad of options for nail polish colors. I ended up selecting a gel nail polish, which at the time of writing this review, a month later, is still intact on my toe nails. (I know - I need another pedicure soon. lol) I will say the price was a little bit costly compared to other places I have been, however, that may be because we selected one of the highest packages. Either way, my mother enjoyed the shop and even upon leaving the guy at the register, welcomed us to come back by giving us a 10% off our next service coupon. I will say due to the friendly staff, the clean environment and all of the safety protocols that they take to make sure that you get a clean experience, I would definitely visit the shop again. It's definitely worth the visit.

I had a hair emergency, that was MY mistake (I forgot to call and schedule) and she squeezed me right into her busy schedule, staying well past the hours she normally works! She never made me feel like I inconvenienced her & she gave me her A+ work she normally would! Any successful business I have worked for has an "...and then some" attitude towards what they do, Kaitlyn definitely has this same mentality in her establishment! The atmosphere when you walk in is welcoming, clean and friendly. I get my hair done by Jessy, and I have no complaints. I got a botched hair cut by another salon, and Jessy fixed it without cutting all my hair off. She's magic with scissors. I love the technique she uses to color my hair, it always looks so natural, you can't find that kind of technique in Northern California. Even though I only go to Jessy for my hair, the other employees there are very fun and friendly to be around. I always leave the doll house in a good mood, and even better hair! Tried out a new salon and couldn't have been happier!! The salon is so cute and shabby sheik and all the stylist are so pleasant. Nicole did my hair and all I can say is wow! I love it and I have my new and last stylist. She not only did an awesome job on my bangs but she is a perfectionist when it came to my color as well! I've been going to Katy, Jessy & Jen for years along with my husband an kids they are fabulous.. I recommend them to everyone. They are all very professional an up to date on all the new colors, styles, trends and extensions. Anyone that has anything negative must be crazy. These ladies are wonderful. The extensions that Jessy has done on my hair are flawless and her prices are unbeatable. I'm extremely picky about my hair and have never left this salon unhappy .
