I've been to Salon Cheveux a couple times. I've seen Brittany the first time and she was great! My hair was a gray silver with alot of new growth on top (and my hair is a dirty blonde) I'm exteremly picky when it comes to who touches my hair especially when going blonde, since I had bad experiences in the past at a previous salon. So I set up a consultation with Brittany so she could see my hair, and we could talk about what we were going to do with it. We agreed on a few low lights on top, and a few highlights through out. When the day came to get my hair done I was extremely excited. Brittany offered my a glass of wine while I got my hair done, and we engaged in casual conversation. By the time I was done my hair looked great. She ended up doing an ombre instead and it looked so natural and healthy. I ended up not coming in again for a few months and my hair grew out so nicely. But I wanted to go back to blonde all over for my second visit, I was in a time crunch and just told the receptionist I needed a cut, and alot of highlights. So someone that was great with blonde. They ended up setting me up with Aubrey. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and since it was so blonde in the picture, she said it would take a few visits to get to that shade of blonde, which I figured. She put close to 100 folis in my hair, and she was speedy and quick, but careful. She was absolutely fantastic! Her personality on top of her awesome skills made for an awesome visit. And my hair is exactly what I expected! Though they are on the pricy side, you pay for what you get! Definitely give Aubrey or Brittany a try if you want the blonde! read more

Unfortunately, i did not have a great overall experience for my wedding. I would like to acknowledge Elaina did an amazing job with makeup. My biggest disappointment was my wedding hair. I completed two trials prior to ensure what I was looking for would be replicated on my wedding day. On the morning of my wedding, I specifically asked the stylist to use the hair netting she had used during my first trial, and she assured me it wouldn't be a problem. After my hair was finished, I was then told the salon had run out of the netting, so she had changed the bun instead. My hair looked completely different from both trials, and it was already falling apart before I even left the salon. Makeup artist Elaina attempted to salvage it back together with Bobby pins which was greatly appreciated. It was frustrating the salon didn't have the necessary supplies for a bridal appointment and didn't communicate that until after my hair was complete. One smaller issue was the credit card processing fee. It was never disclosed to me until I noticed the full amount of my deposit wasn't going to be applied to my final balance. Had I known there would be a processing fee, I would have used a different payment method for such a large transaction. Lastly, I got a gel French tip pedicure prior to the wedding. The polish application was sloppy and began peeling off that same day. The salon offered to fix it the next day, but unfortunately the repair still didn't hold. I'm disappointed in the outcome after multiple appointments and significant expense. The services did not meet expectations and I hope this review helps other brides. read more

I've never walked into an upscale salon and gotten a haircut, but because they took walk-ins and I was already downtown, I thought I'd try. For what I paid, I was not expecting to have to come back and get the stylist to adjust my haircut. I'm glad she told me I could do that--come back in and have the cut adjusted, and I get that everyone has bad days or that doing someone's hair for the first time is not easy, but I've never paid this much money and had to get my cut adjusted. Again, I'm glad I was able to do that, but it didn't impress me that such an expensive haircut (almost double what I thought I'd be paying) took two appointments to complete. I don't think I'll be returning. read more

Since I was last here years ago, the interior has been redone. I love the atmosphere. It is kindly lit and sweet for someone who gets over-sensoried in most salons. Everything about my experience (thus far) is a plus. Rae does an amazing job with eyebrows. I will be back. read more

I've seen a couple different stylists and the results are always great, I also adore the receptionists. My only complaint is their pricing. I understand it's a quality place, but every stylist has different pricing & their charges make no sense. I was charged $25 for them to dry my hair after coloring it. (No style, no product.) I booked this salon form my mom and I to get our hair done before my wedding. We had never been there before since it was a destination wedding. We both brought photos for our stylists to follow. I asked for an updo and after 2 hours in the chair, the girl could not get my hair up. I asked her to simply give me side swept curls. An hour later my simple hairstyle looked good but fell out after 20 minutes. My mom's hair was a disaster. The owner came out of her office in her sweat pants to try to correct her hair and blamed the issues on my mom's hair cut! The staff was extremely friendly, they just lacked basic skills and failed to tell us what their limitations were. read more

I came in for a spray tan for a state pageant. I explained exactly what I wanted and also explained to the person applying the spray that I did not want to use the product if I would become streaky, uneven, or have the product clog my pores. I had gone to midnight sun and cruise before and this happened. She assured me it would be fine and I would be happy with the results once it dried and I showered. Needless to say, I was not happy. Extremely streaky for a professional detailed job. I came out with the same color I went in with, but with streaks and stains. It took 3 hours with lemon in the shower to just remove the stains from my hands, feet, and arms. By the next morning it looked like my skin was covered in blackheads from the spray clogging my pores. I thought I was getting a great deal at the price. But I got what I paid for. She takes the time to really listen to what I want and is honest about how realistic it will be for my hair and helps me figure out the best way to achieve what I'm going for! Great massage!! My husband and I were in town for a few days from Indy and the weather wasn't cooperative for the beach, so we decided to get massages. After searching Yelp, we settled on Salon Cheveux and could not have been happier! The salon itself is chic and adorable; the massage was excellent! We've had plenty of massages elsewhere and my only regret is that we don't live closer so that we could go regularly! My only feedback is that we could sometimes hear conversations taking place in the salon, which was at times distracting, but otherwise excellent and professional...we will be back next year!! read more

Men, I would avoid this place. I went in making sure I had my hair looking as close as I could to the end result I wanted told the stylist how I wear my hair (Long on the top with sharp fade on the sides and a part on the left, for a young professional look.) Came out with my head completely rounded all over, no texture, fade, definition or anything, just blended into a ball. Then when trying to fix it I was given a higher and higher fade resulting in just the very top-center being long and sides and back being very short. It was everything you expect from a $10 Fantanstic Sam's haircut, and I paid $23 to find out that you cant go here for a Men's cut. I will keep having to drive to Grand Rapids for a quality, modern cut it seems. I have to now go into the Office looking like I have just a tuft of hair on my head. Good thing my client facing is back on the phone and have no big meetings this month :( Though they may still be able to do women's hair well. read more

Unfortunately, when it comes to the hiring process it seems to be very unprofessional. I received a phone call regarding the position and called back no more than an hour later, to no avail. I then emailed the hiring manager the first time explaining that I had called and informed him of available times that I could talk over the phone. Over 24 hours later I still had no response. I then emailed the hiring manager a second time to inform him I had been offered another job but was still interested in applying/interviewing for the position and ANOTHER day later received an email telling me that they were confident that they had found someone. I feel like if things were communicated better and there was a better response time and attention to potential employees, things might have worked out better in my favor. I always say there is a difference between service and hospitality and I felt plain old service without a connection or respect towards my time or effort. read more

Tonight was my first appointment at Salon Cheveux. I wanted something that was trendy and cute but still easy and quick to style. I have gone to other salons in the area with the same request and left with a style that I couldn't duplicate or that took way too long to do. Bri really listened to everything I wanted and right away I trusted her. Her enthusiasm is infectious! The more she worked the more excited I became. After coloring, highlighting and cutting my hair she had finally given me the style I had been trying so hard to achieve! Bri took the time to show me how to style my hair in a few different ways.
