I've only been here to get my brows done, and I would tell others to beware. The woman who did my brows left them too thin and uneven. She also kept trying to tell me that shaving your hair makes it grow in thicker. I have been going to Salon Cocole for about a year now and have had a great overall experience. It's just as high class as the salon I went to for years in the city and at a much better price! I honestly thought they forgot to charge me for something after my first appointment here! My colorist is Jeffrey and he is wonderful! He's great with foils and color and really does a fantastic job. He recently took me from blonde to brunette and I am so happy with the results! My stylist is Michelle and I love her. Michelle has given me some awesome haircuts and always listens to what I want. Most importantly, after she gives you a new 'do- she takes the time to teach you how to style it. I cannot tell you how nice it is to be able to re-create her masterpieces! Love it! read more

I've had my nails done here 3 times, and never again. The first time I had a great experience getting a no chip manicure. It was in the spring and they had a special for $25. However, when I came in for a polish change, I was told the manicurist was "no longer with them" and I had been given an appointment with Ena. She did an okay job, it was only $20, so I didn't say anything. I just went back for another polish change with Ena, and I shouldn't have tried again. There's polish on my skin around my nails, spots that still have old color remaining, and no polish along the sides. To top it off, I was originally charged for a full manicure ($40), even though I booked and confirmed a polish change. With so many other nail salons in town, I can't recommend this one for nails. read more

Connor makes you feel like family when you walk through the front door, Taylor has done wonders with my color every single time, and as far as haircuts, I am very picky and my hair is difficult so it took a couple of people for me to figure out that Donna is the only person I will allow to put scissors to my hair. One of the best things is the head massage you get when you get your hair washed! Their customer service is impeccable, the salon is clean, and for those of you who are worried about a salon experience during Covid, fear not they are doing everything possible to ensure a safe experience for you. The blow dry bar is closed for now so unfortunately if you're in for just color, you have to go home with wet hair, but that's temporary until life returns to normal. Remember you get what you pay for, so for me it's worth paying a bit more for a better experience and good hair! read more

I have been a steady customer for this past year paying close to $180 each visit every 4 weeks. My regular colorist was on maternity leave so Kathleen did my color. When I got home I really did not like it so I gave it a few days and thought with shampooing it would get better but it didn't. I called on a Friday afternoon and asked if I could come in for some highlights to brighten it up. I was told they could not get me in till possibly next Tuesday. So I said I am suppose to be unhappy for 5 days until you can get me in. I was told yes. Poor customer service unacceptable. I teach customer service and I would never tell that to a customer. Nicole did a great job fixing my hot mess of a rats nest. My hair is the smoothest it's been in a long time. I came in for a color and it turned out lovely- my only complaint is I was told a full color was $50 but was a little shocked when I was charged $90 instead - hence the 3 stars. The salon looks like it's under construction. (no base boards,paint is 1/2 way up the wall, no socket covers, 2 paper towels in bathroom) The staff looks like they all just graduated beauty school. My colorist (Sophia) was really nice, which is why there are 3 stars as opposed to 2) After my hair was colored and still sopping wet, I was led to a workstation, shown some brushes and a blow dryer so I could dry my own hair. Mind you, these brushes were lumped together, not sterile & who knows when was the last time those were cleaned! I was never told what products to use so I just had to figure it out myself. While I'm standing there blow drying my own hair, the staff is sitting chit chatting and doing absolutely nothing. Not a really relaxing trip to the salon. I'll pay the extra $20 bucks somewhere else next time. Rating "0" for atmosphere and "3" only for Sophia. read more

What ever happened to not letting someone walk out of a salon feeling horrible about their color? I received highlights and a base bump, and no kindness and compassion when I stated that I still see what I came to get covered. That being the 2 inches of roots (my natural, and the brass I was trying to fix from a previous, botched color at another local), and my usual, ash blonde color we were aiming for (which was reassured to come through with a base bump instead of a single process) still came out brassy. I don't want to advise a professional on how to color hair, but for a woman that has been getting highlights and color for 20+ years, I am well aware that this, on my head, is not "normal", and could have been corrected if you cared enough to fix it. The colorist instead said "the other colorist did a number on your hair, it is what it is". She even went on to say that everyone's hair looks like that in back and is darker in the back. Ahh, not if you apply a heavy highlight in back like you did in the front. Comically odd to say, to anyone. I was even charged (later refunded) for the toner her assistant placed (because she had "no time", as she mentioned to me) due to them applying the wrong base bump. I also wasn't checked on by the colorist after the 2nd wash. The 1st wash, the assistant had to grab her for me. She clearly didn't care to see if what she didn't do the first time, was fixed. It wasn't, by the way. Crazy, horrible customer service from Kathleen. I would have asked a manager to speak with the customer to ease their mind. This review would not have been written if I had received an ounce of compassion from Kathleen. She was instead very defensive, and I was being very kind in informing her I was not pleased. Two stars only because Nicole (washed my hair) was kind. I would not come back; not because of the color, but because of her lack of customer service. read more

I live in the west loop and choose to drive 32 miles to have my hair styled at Salon Coccole. Their stylists and color specialists are top notch! They are acknowledged experts in their field. I particularly love that when one of your regular beauty team members needs to be out of town (Donna/Karlie) there are other fabulous stylists and colorists to pinch hit (Devin/Anna)! If your standards are above average stay away from this salon. I found the color products used are the same quality as the boxed brands from Walmart. The salons ability to cut and apply Keratin products extremely poor. Karen plopped three clumps of Keratin on my head, combed it through and said goodbye. The entire Keratin process with her took 15 minutes. A normal Keratin express process typically take 2 hours. Don't attempt to ask for a refund from the owner Donna. I found her to be defensive and rude. I refund for poor quality work wasn't even considered by her. My advice is to keep searching for a quality salon as Salon Coccole does not provide professional service or responsibility for botched work of the stylists. If you are serious about your hair I suggest Anthony Cristiano in Trump Tower. I only when to Coccole because it was close. Never again would I visit this salon. read more

I'm not happy that I have to pay for each service seperate and if you are only getting a color you have to blow dry and style your own hair! I went in around Christmas time to have my roots done and highlights put in. Then I was told I would have to dry my own hair and style it as that is an extra cost with the person who cuts your hair. She charged me $130 just to color my hair. She didn't shampoo it (somebody else did that) and then I had to stand there and blow dry my hair. After I gave her a whopping $26 for a tip and left, I wasn't too happy with myself. ($156 just to color my roots and do highlights). INSANE. The shampoo girls are awesome. I am currently looking for another reasonable hair dresser that will cut, color, and style your hair for one price. I went back to just get the roots done and she was trying to charge me $70. Seriously? I used to get my hair done in Wauconda for around $75-$80 cut, color, and style by one person. Salon Coccole is a little out of my league. Especially when you are getting it colored every 5 weeks. read more

So I think I've found "my salon". I decided to go from blonde to brunette this weekend, and called around last minute to see which salons were open. I'm very impatient, so when the receptionist mentioned booking an appointment later in the week, I kindly thanked her and tried the next place. Salon Coccole was next on my list, although out of my way, I decided, Why not? I am so glad I did... I fell in love with the place, it's so different and comfortable at the same time. First, I really enjoyed the little things that pull the entire salon together. The ladies at the front desk are welcoming, and immediately one got up to take my jacket and get me a beverage. She asked, with or without lemon, and I answered with lemon. As I settled down and waited for my colorist, the receptionist set a glass of water down in front of me. As she walked away, I noticed no lemon, and thought "Oh jeeze, did she not hear me? Whatever... its just lemon." But then I took a sip and the water was infused with lemon. :) Very smart idea... I met my colorist, an especially nice and friendly young woman by the name of Kathleen. She was great, she held the conversation very well and suggested a great idea for my hair since I kind of came in blank slate. (No picture references, just the idea of going brunette) After the color was processed, Kate - an intern, grabbed me up and took me over to get my hair washed. She was also very nice and the good amount of talkative. Her head massages are AWESOME! I had to keep myself from keeping my mouth open, lol. Kate when over a lot of the products at the salon, which is typical. But I wasn't thrown the sales pitch at check out, which is something I was bracing myself for. What I really loved was the smells during the color process! Kathleen explained that the salon does not use products with ammonia, and my color had this wonderful citric aroma that was very calming. Kate also used a mint conditioner by Eufora (sp?) and it made the head massage a strange hot/cold sensation. Very awesome! Another thing, Kate offered me coffee, which I gladly accepted, especially because she suggested it was about that time for pick me up. Around 2 or so... So I drink my coffee black, and I'm handed this gigatic white ceramic mug with a steaming cup of coffee... my first sip... Cinnamin?! The salon adds cinnamin to their coffee grounds, and to a black coffee drinker, that's genius! I felt like a little doll, sitting in my chair in front of their gigantic floor to almost ceiling mirrors, getting my hair blown out with a gigantic white mug in my hands. :) Aside from the girls and the little extras, the salon is gorgeous. It has this rustic, downtown loft apartment look, and the interior is not lacking nor does it have too much. It's so classic and beautiful, minimal for sure. Everything is very open, and all the women are very friendly! I'm the type of person, where the little things go a long way! From the people, to the upkeep, to the little pieces of hospitality, I have decided I'm going to be coming back to Salon Coccole! read more

I moved to this area in May 2012 but did not visit the salon until August. I loved it ! I had a facial with Gail and it was fantastic and I have been getting facials for over 30 years! She was thorough but gentle and my skin felt wonderful when she was finished. The salon was very welcoming and makes you feel special.
