I noticed that Salon D Renee had a yelp coupon for $50 off of $150 services as well as a good rating. Unfortunately, I could not get the Yelp coupon due to a Yelp technical error. The women working where very nice the moment I walked into the salon. They greeted me with a smile, offered me water or a glass of wine and told me they would be with me shortly. I had already decided to get there. TLC conditioning treatment for severely damaged hair. After speaking with Virginia, she advised my hair was not as bad office. I thought it was and suggested an alternative treatment as well as agreed to dye my regrowth even though I hadn't made an appointment for that service. I was skeptical at first, because I really wanted that TLC treatment, but my results made me so happy that I listen to Virginia. (And her recommended services cost less than the ones I selected!) She definitely knows what she's talking about and she delivers on her treatments, her haircut and her style. This is my first hair salon visit in Baltimore and I struck gold. I called to book my appointment a month in advance and everyone that I talk to is so nice and patient. They will answer any questions that you have and you don't have to feel rushed. They are on time and punctual. Appointment go as scheduled. Salon is nice and clean with plenty of sunlight. Positive atmosphere and great energy while you are here. I was here today to get a weave and I was impressed. It took no longer that 2 1/2 hours. The braiding did not hurt and the threading was very comfortable and tolerable. I've been to Salon D. Renee several times over the past year and I've had great experiences every time. The owner, Ashley is friendly and takes time with each of her customers. Expect to be get in and out with her. From what I've experienced she doesn't overbook herself, each client gets their own time slot. The salon is full service. It offers hair, nail, and waxing services. I haven't gotten my nails done yet but I've seen Keontai's work in person and it's great! She's way better than your typical nail tech. She can do all of the trendy designs that you see online. I did get my eyebrows waxed and they turned out great. The location is nice. It's a corner suite with a good amount of windows. The salon is decorated nicely. It's got sleek, dark, hardwood floors and is decorated with modern furniture. The bathroom is well kept also. My advice would be to arrive a little early if you're driving bc sometimes parking can be a challenge. If you take the metro you're in luck bc the salon is right in front of a link stop. Out-of-town visitor gets absolutely fabulous cut and style. I may have to return to Baltimore every eight weeks for a touch-up at my new, favorite salon. Ashley started me with a deep conditioning, my hair has never felt so luxurious. Even the wild gray hairs were taned. Then my stylist, Daye, really listened to me and did a great job layering my very thick and sadly straight hair. I love my hair, but I procrastinate on doing some of the things it needs, like regular cutting. And I'm also always worried about going to a tech who doesn't know natural hair. So I procrastinated for a ridiculously long time, until I found SDR on StyleSeat. Bonus that it'son Yelp, because, I like to get as many prior reviews as possible before going somewhere. So when I walked in, the place smelled and looked great, and it was warm and the staff inviting. It was like...a Wednesday at noon or something, so no one was there. Ashley was able to jump right up and get my cut started. She informed me that there was a coat rack in the back, which isn't a BIG deal, but as it's getting cold around here, I appreciated that I didn't have to hold it in my lap the whole time. Little details help make a great experience overall. Since I was on my lunch break, Ashley got me in and out pretty fast. She had a great eye for seeing my damaged ends and cut me all straightened up. The difference in length doesn't even compare to the difference in overall health. I brought my daughter here which was both our 1st times coming and the atmosphere was nice and calm and clean. The receptionist was pleasant. Parking wasn't hard but it's downtown so of course I had to pay the meter. They offer natural products which was good because my daughter is young and I don't want a lot of harsh chemicals in her hair. They do offer wine..YaY!! Too bad I didn't have any. Drake is a colorist god. I came in with my leave-out not matching my weave (terrible roots!!) and left with a beautiful platinum head! I was amazed that he was able to bleach and tone perfectly on the "first try." I've had too many colorists who have to keep bleaching and toning because the color won't come out right.
