Daniel dyed my hair black instead of light brown and told me that my eyesight was the problem. Mistakes happen but it's how you correct them instead of him to fix my hair. He told me that I was the problem and it was my eyesight. Please see my hair in the picture. Everybody had that has seen it dark nobody thinks that this is dark blonde to light brown like requested

Samira cut my hair and she did an absolutely amazing job! I could finallly budget a higher priced haircut post medical school! She seemed very knowledgeable about hair and she cut it short but in a way the hair still fits into a ponytail. My hair hasn't looked this healthy in SO LONG. I would come back in a heart beat :) Thet start off with a scalp massage and then a lengthy hair wash and spend a lot of time cutting the hair and styling it!!

I absolutely loved this salon. I called day of, and they happened to have a cancellation. I was also on crutches at the time and they were very accommodating and the floor layout was easy to navigate. Pierre was my stylist and did an amazing job. I showed him reference photos of the cut I would like and he walked me through the whole process. I had old highlight so he had to blend bright ends and darker roots into even highlights and it came out amazing. I also appreciate that they don't overbook and you get the time and treatment you deserve. I will say the pricing is very high for the area but definitely worth it if you can afford to splurge. I am very picky about my hair and am willing to pay for quality and service. All stylists here are top notch and they have been in business for decades, so I highly recommend. Samira is amazing at cut and color. I'm super picky and have been trying to find someone in northern va since I moved from dc. 10/10 recommend.

It has been quite awhile since I last did a yelp review, but I think it is a good time to do so. I was in need of a dire haircut. The only problem is that I have had the same person (Luis from Hi-Tech in Coral Gables, FL) cut my hair since I was thirteen years old (now I am 32 so you see the longevity). He was the only one I trusted cutting my hair because I have naturally thick/wavy hair when not blow dried or flat ironed. I had a horrendous haircut in the past (bad memory when I was 11 or 12) at another salon in Coral Gables so I have always been weary of going to someone new. Apparently in the hair salon community, stylists tend to shy away from or get scared of cutting those with curly hair. It is a known thing according to Luis. Being a big fan of Yelp, I decided to see what salons were out there in Falls Church, VA that would be able to take me on. It was between Salon Virage and Salon Daniel. After reading the reviews for Salon Virage I was not totally sold. It seemed okay at best. I kept looking and found Salon Daniel. Sleek, chic, modern...those are the three words I would use to describe this salon. Upon entering I was greeted warmly by two ladies at the front. Even though I was late for my appointment, they were still kind and understanding. It felt a lot like the salon I would go to back home. I did not have too wait long. One thing I always loved about going to a salon...the magazines. I rarely read magazines anymore but it was always fun to skim through them and see what stars are wearing what or what beauty items are the next best thing. I am not all that much into glitz and glamour but feeling pampered every once in a while and kicking your feet up (not literally as I had to sit gracefully on the sofa there) feels fun and very much a blessing if not a gift. I was told to have the owner Daniel (who was extremely warm and inviting upon our first encounter) to take a look at my hair and see what he would be working with. I reluctantly allowed my braid to be undone by his assistant. I knew it had gotten long and I did have split ends. Plus I did not know how he would feel about cutting my hair. To my chagrin, he wasn't scared at all to do so. In fact, he himself said he had long curly hair once, so I knew at that moment I was in good hands. There was also a woman next to me who said she had been going to him since she was 13 actually, for 32 years exactly. I breathed a sigh of relief. I was then led to a chair to have my hair washed and deep conditioned. It was recommended I do the deep conditioning. Typically, I would have shied away from adding on anything else as I knew that would make the total cost go up, but my hair needed some TLC. The woman washed my hair made sure the temperature of the water was just right and even massaged my head and neck! It was amazing. She made sure the towel was properly draped around my neck and that I was comfortable overall. After the conditioning treatment was done, it was time for my haircut. I got to know Daniel a bit more and what a success story, not that I measure a person's worth by their accomplishments, but I was more so in awe of the hard work and steps he put in to get there, coming from Lebanon, starting off cutting and ironing his friends and family's hair, learning English, I was amazed. And then to come to learn he has styled some major icon's hair like Miss Universe 1991, Fran Drescher, the Aerosmith band, I felt so posh for two seconds even though I am the most basic person (in a good way lol)..but it felt neat to have my hair styled by someone so experienced and well-accomplished in the hair industry. I was very happy with the results. I cut it pretty short l which is what i planned for anyways, but it was worth it. I needed a refresh and a reset in more ways than one and sometimes you have to shed the old you to have a new you and start anew. I did not know what the total cost would be and I never expected to spend as much as I did (as I typically would pay $95-$115 back home in Miami) but it was worth the cost. I also did buy the Kerastase deep conditioning cream that was used on my hair so that increased the cost but I looked at it as a bucket-list kind of salon visit. After all I have been through the past couple of years, I deserved it. I definitely recommend Salon Daniel. The cost is rather steep, but it is worth it especially if you want excellent and near perfect results, not average ones.

And there was not nearly enough attention given to the soles of my feet or my calves. I think part of the problem was that I was in a chair. She told me "more better next time" "more deeper massage on table" I asked if shed rather me lay on a table, she declined..... I was uncomfortable and unable to communicate my needs as she didn't understand much besides the few times I was in so much pain I had to pull away. I see good reviews, so maybe it's just the one massage therapist. I didn't want her to touch my back or shoulders but I was so sore from work that I allowed her.. Jessica was far too aggressive on my shoulders and I'm upset that I allowed the massage to go past 25 min.. I thought it would get better but I was sadly disappointed. I went to massage therapy school for a while and have been getting them for some time. I've never been this sore after a massage. I don't usually have the extra money to do massage anymore. So I'm not sure when I'll have the opportunity again.. if I do try spirit again, I'll certainly be opting for a different therapist... I hope you have a better experience.. and I'd love an opportunity to have a better one.

*Part 2 of 2* 9/13/24…read moreThe Massage Experience: Lisa my masseuse (whose name I found out later) wore a red tube dress...no...skirt with black pokeadots. She had to adjust her dress 8 times from when I started paying attention to this. The massage started out decent enough with the pressure points through the towel, but I had a feeling it wouldn't last. Well Golly Wally I was right. The massage went from firm to soft strokes. Yes, there is different strokes for different folks, but come on,... going over the same spot with no real knowledge of the human body...this is sad. Nevertheless, I wanted to see what Lisa could do, so I stayed quiet and let her do her thing. Lisa didn't over use the oil she had. The glutes massage was better than expected, but there was no real pressure until I asked. The towel covering me was removed not long after she started on my lower back. I am not shy about my body, but there are many who might not be comfortable about that. I don't picture other women going to this massage place, but I am willing to buy a Steeler shirt if I am wrong on this. I would have to see an actual review and photo of the woman on Yelp. Not a picture of something else but her in general. This isn't going to happen so I don't have to worry about this. Well since the Cincinnati Bengals lost this Sunday, the previous bet is now voided. I am digressing...let's move on. Back on track. Legs massage wasn't much of anything, but was relaxing when she did massage them.. The feet were skipped entirely. I was asked to turn over and I did. Lisa main goal now was to get her money for a tip. This is why I deliberately kept my eyes closed. More could have happened, but it's not what I wanted. I did not go the Full Monty, but others have and will. "For this I am sure." The best part of the masssge was the shoulders massage. This is when the press was turn on and Lisa knew what she was doing. I was offered a hot towels, but if Lisa had to leave the room in order to get a towel, i just prefer to have paper hand towels rubbed on me to get the extra oil off me. In this case, 96 percent of the body cream had absorbed into my skin. I have had bad experiences with the hot towel smelling bad and then the scent is left on one's skin. After The Massage: After the massage I used the bathroom and it looked good. However, I did see a tooth brush on the sink. This leads me to believe the ladies live here. I now think about the hours the business is open. I don't like where my mind is going. I truly hope I am wrong. I don't know if body scrub is done here and at this point don't care. Lisa was pleasant and out going. Thank you for the massage Lisa. I am not sure I will be back again. Well that is about all I have to say for now....oh, one more thing.

7/16/23 Star Therapy…read moreMassage has had its star masseuse Jessica working here for a little over a year.   Jessica instantly remembered me the moment I walked through the door. Jessica remind me of someone body that I used to know. I even thought she was someone else, but was later informed she is not the same Jessica I was thinking of. Still, Jessica look very close to the woman in the red dress featured in the picture I took with the new prices for massage. Today, I was shown into the Autumn Room and it looked nice. It is very spacious with two massage chair/couches.  In the center is the massage table.  The Massage table wasn't  heated from what I saw. It is also Summer time and the heat wasn't needed for the massage table if there is one. I noticed the large window is heavily layered to keep out the sunlight.    The Massage: Covering the body is not necessarily a requirement, but can be done if you are not comfortable with being exposed...so to speak. Jessica asked me what kind of pressure I wanted and I went with medium pressure.   Lotion, oil or neither are your choices.   I went with the oil, but I think next time I will go without oil and lotion.   Ashiatsu (backpack massage) is an option, but Jessica didn't incorporate this option into my massage.  Jessica used her forearms  for my back , glutes, but I preferred her hands to Jessica's forearms.  Jessica massaged my legs and feet.    Jessica continued her massage checking to see if I wanted her to pressure to be harder or softer.   I am glad to say Jessica wasn't interrupted  with phone calls or someone else ringing the doorbell.  There is also no time clock is in the room, but there is a clock in the room.  Check your time before the massage starts. Hot towels supplied inside a heat box were applied to my body to remove the excess oil on by body.   Flipping over onto my back Jessica again asked if I wanted oil, lotion or nothing.  I went with oil and Jessica began her work. The stomach massage and chest massage were great.  Yet, the foot massage nearly put me to sleep.  The soft massage is another trick that can put someone to sleep.  It did not happen with me, because I wanted to be awake for the massage. Not fall asleep through it.  Jessica did the hot towel thing again before ending the massage.  Upon standing up, I felt some pain in my back. Jessica was able to massage my back again and removed the tight muscles in my lower back. I truly appreciate this Jessica.   I will definitely return here for another session.   I found it humorous an ironic that we were both wearing red and black outfits on this particular day.   What are the odds of this happening?
