My friend recommended me Amarilis to do my hair because she pays around $75 for what she gets done. I made an appointment for my friend and I because salons charge a lot for a simple wash and blow dry. When coming in I told the stylist that I want what my friend gets done. Amarilis tells me my friend gets a keratin treatment done on her hair. I agree because my friend has been getting her hair done by this stylist for years. Our hair came out great but once we went to the desk to pay the man tells us our total is $200 EACH?! We explained the situation, they didn't care, we paid and left. We're never coming back which is really sad but I won't be giving my money to a salon that takes advantage of new customers. I pray my curls aren't ruined after this. read more

I have never had to write a review like this before. I felt very unwelcome from the beginning. I went in for a last minute appointment. First time there. It seemed that there was some confusion about who made my appointment at the last minute, which I could understand initially. What I didn't like was how long they were talking about me. I heard "la negra" (the black one) quite a few times when talking loudly amongst themselves and on the phone. Only reason why I didn't leave was because I really needed my hair done because I was taking engagement photos the next day. The staff was friendly to my face. I was polite the whole time. I think some people can get too comfortable when they assume someone doesn't know any Spanish. I know enough. Or maybe they just didn't care. I thought the salon looked nice and I was initially excited to have found my go to place. So I am very disappointed. I won't be returning. read more

Got a nice wash, deep conditioning, trim, and blow out from Elizabeth. I literally was in and out within two hours and I absolutely love love my hair!!!! They are super friendly and the music makes you wanna move while you're in the chair getting your hair done. I will def be back for my blow out and they have found a life long customer. Last minute on a Friday afternoon I found this place. Gladis was my stylist. I got Botox, cut, wash/blow dry and flat iron. She did a fantastic job!! I've lived in Orlando for a while now and I haven't been able to find a stylist I liked enough to go back to. I don't go to the salon often but she recommended I come in every two weeks to heal the breakage and get my hair back to a healthier state. I'll be back in 2 weeks! read more

The reason I don't recommend this place is because they refuse to tell you a price for anything over the phone but that's a technique they use because depending on whether they feel like they can get money out of you or not. They wait till you arrive size you up and then stick it to you. For example the first time I went to them they charged me a little bit high for the service that I obtain. When I went to another salon and inquired about the same service they had charged me approximately $40 over average price from other salons. The second time I went they up charged me $50 from any other salon. with the way they didn't want to give me a price over the phone and everything that occurred it was obvious to me how they went about doing business. Do not go to the salon if you don't want them to to steal your money. When I realized what they were doing and I inquired about it, the lady on the phone blamed another one of the ladies and told me to talk to her when I arrived to pick up my aunt and pay the bill. I went to get a blowout done and I can assure you they will take the time they need to do right by you, even if that means you're still in the chair 45 mins after close. Originally from NY and used to top tier salons, this matches the caliber I am accustomed too. Now in Florida for college I have definitely found my go to place. The hubby and I had just flown back into Florida after a week in Arizona weather. I had time to make it over to the Mac counter in Macy's because they don't do makeup and made it to Pho 88 for lunch before my job interview. The price was more than right too. Las dos primeras veces que estuve en este salon fué por lavado y secado normal del cabello, pero la tercera vez estuve porque queria un botox capilar solo para quitarme el frizz en el cabello, ya anteriormente habia experimentado este servicio en otro salon y me habia ido muy bien, pero esta vez no fué asi, lo único que conseguí fué dañar mi cabello. Nunca vi lo que me aplicaron porque el dueño (que aparenta no saber de belleza) es el que le suministra el producto a la empleada en un envase. Meses despues al ver que mi pelo se quedó totalmente lacio y el crecimento del nuevo cabello era horrible, ademas de la gran cantidad de perdida de cabello, fuí a reclamar por el daño ocacionado y esta misma empleada, llamada Yuly, es la que me atiende, claro que justificándose y defendiéndose de lo que estaba a la vista y tratándome como una estúpida y a todo esto, la esposa del dueño o copropietaria que estaba oyendo la queja, nunca dió la cara ante la situación y se comportó como una empleada mas. Horrible customer service. They said over the phone they would braid my granddaughters hair. We drove there, checked in, waited 30 minutes before we walked out. After the initial check in, NO ONE made eye contact, talked to us, gave any reason for the long wait when many "proffesional stylists" where standing around talking among themselves. The ladies here are nice and I hate to post this but I didn't have the best experience here. If you are African American w/ thick hair and do not speak Spanish you need to find another place. Some people will take advantage if they know you can't speak there language and that's what exactly happened to me. I walked in, requested to have my hair washed, rolled and blow dried (the typical Dominican blow out) and they made me wait a long time, I sat under the dryer forever before anyone noticed I was done and they didn't want to roll my hair up like everyone else's. This is the 1st time i ever felt uncomfortable and treated differently in my entire life ! I'm a very nice person, speak well and highly educated so I always give people the benefit of the doubt. I know all Dominican shops aren't like this but I will never ever come here again. Some people think they are better than someone else but really there not !!! read more

Awful!!! I asked her to give me a round shape, with layers and she cut off at least THREE INCHES, leaving my hair REALLY SHORT in the back because she said it was uneven. Don't you think you should ask before you SHAVE the back of someone's head. I knew it was over then, it was a miracle I didn't start crying right there in the chair, but then they charged me $45 for he haircut. $45!!!!
