I can't believe how amazing our experience was today. My boyfriend has never been to a salon before today (he always went to barbers) but since the pandemic he grew his hair out and wasn't sure what he wanted to do. We had an appointment with Ashley and she completely blew us away. She Instantly made him feel comfortable. She started with a consultation, listening to what he thought he might want and gave her suggestions. Ashley 100% nailed it! And trumped all our expectations! I made an appointment with Salon Fridge for a bob cut--they were very accommodating and I got an appointment for the following day. The stylist was very nice, but unfortunately I ended up with a bob that looks more dated with not good layers, while I was looking for something chic. I do have somewhat thick and wavy hair, so I was afraid of having a bob that was too triangular, and I asked for some layers to help with that but not too many. I feel like the layers ended up too thick and bulky, and not "piecey" like I had wanted, as per the pictures I had shown from past hair cuts as well as inspo photos. (Unfortunately I moved too far away from my old salon.) I also feel like the bottom layer is disconnected with the top layers, and kind of just hangs weirdly away from the rest of them, which adds to it looking dated. It gives a very different shape from what I wanted. My hair was styled when I left the salon so it wasn't till a few days later when I washed it, did I notice these problems. Unfortunately I went on vacation the next day, and I wasn't back for about a week and a half. It was cold where I went so I wore a hat most of the time, thankfully. When I came back, my work hours were crazy for a few days and it was hard for me to make a call to the salon during their hours, which I admit is my fault. At this point it's been 2.5 weeks, but the salon said they only do redos within 2 weeks and so it would be a full charge for a fix...ouch. I can't say this was anyone's fault, due to me being away. I understand the policy. Perhaps there was a miscommunication in what I wanted since I was afraid of having a bob that was too thick/triangular, and now I've ended up with one that was too layered and dated. I will just wait for it to grow out at this point and find a stylist that better understands my hair texture. read more

Extremely disqusted 6 days after paying $230.00 to have my hair done with highlights and lowlights (ash with silver ice) which looked beautiful waited the 3 days I was told to before washing washed with WOW shampoo and conditioner as advised blew my hair out which to my shock is now blonde called the shop the hair dresser Tiffany who did my hair was with another client so she could not come to phone. Drove to salon for them to see my hair. She was in shock that it was now blonde she put another glaze/toner thru why hair which then when she washed it out my hair was black she was trying to convience me it wasn't. One of the other hair dressers came over told her to shampoo my hair with Malibu to get the color out then she redid it again with another glaze/toner now my hair is a muddy brown I said this is not what I asked for nor paid $230.00 for where's the highlights where the lowlights She said "oh there in there somewhere" What??? Would not recommended this salon Did not even get a call from the owner.. What a waste of my hard earned money.... Just received a voicemail from Janet stating "I just wanted to get your feedback and see if there is something we could fix for you or I'm not sure if you wanted to fix it" WHAT ??????? "TIFFANY WAS KIND OF UPSET THAT YOU LEFT AND SHE IS VERY HURT"WHAT???? Ashley did an ok job on my hair color. Unfortunately, she did a pretty bad job on my hair cut. I couldn't see it when I left because she used a hot iron to help everything fall into place. When I got home I realized the layers were cut way too short and they keep popping up & she didn't just thin/texturize my hair "a little" like I had asked. She got carried away with thinning out my hair way too much very quickly. It will take a long time to grow it out so my hair doesn't seem so thin/frizzy and all over the place. Thankfully, all hair grows out, but I wouldn't return again....this was worse than something needing to be adjusted next time... Also, casual talk is great... but repeatedly throwing around the F*** word in conversation with a client you don't know made things uncomfortable and is unprofessional. FYI, in addition: The parking at this location was terrible when I was there. They seem to have a problem with people from the gym parking in their lot in addition to sharing parking with the other stores. read more

Do not ever buy a gift card for somebody there. They will rip it up in front of you and throw in the garbage. Money down the drain, a lot of money down the drain. Let me preface this by saying I've been following Janet for a good number of years - and for good reason.... Simply put - she personifies quality, integrity and excellent customer service and the staff have clearly learned from her lead. Where most businesses today have revolving staff - this does not. In today's business world, that says a lot. Where most hair salons get stale and dated - they most certainly do not. The salon is welcoming, the staff friendly and accommodating. Do I love my haircuts? Of course I do. And my color is always beautiful. What I love even more is that I'm not just a revolving client - they learn my hair (and boy has it changed as I've gotten older - translate that to their adapting to my hairs texture and needs now). I love the smiles and greeting and constantly being asked if I want more coffee or refreshing fruit infused water they take the time to prepare each day. It's the attention to detail - attention to customers - that gets my customer loyalty. I don't get the "less than" reviews, people. Not one states asking to speak with management to remediate the concern. NOT ONE. I had an appointment for my daughter for her senior prom and, completely my fault, I messed up the time. She was there 25 minutes late which was a big problem for prom day. I'm sure that with bookings that this now was an impossible situation, but my complete anger was the way the snippy receptionist handled the whole thing. A 17-year-old girl is standing in front of you on one of the biggest occasions of her life, and you dismiss her without saying anything. I started going here a year or so ago after reading so many rave reviews on the Amityville moms group on Facebook. I've always gotten so many compliments on my short hair styles from here. Usually I see Liz. I also love that I can call day of, or even last minute and they are always able to get me in. So not the case with other local salons. They are also affordable!
