One of the best dinners we had while in Istanbul! It's located near the Galata Tower and comes with a small section of side Al outdoor seating and a large indoor dining room. To feed my family of three, we ordered the mushroom pasta, manti, and stuffed vegetables. Each dish was full of flavor and well prepared. Even our five-year-old daughter loves everything! My glass of white wine from Turkey and my wife's green cocktail tasted good. Service was excellent and prices fair.

Right next to our hotel, a lovely casual bar & restaurant with Turkish foods. Restaurant was clean, bright & service was friendly @ I'm English. The breakfast menu looked reasonably priced & appealing. Lunch was about $25, we drank water & shared a meat & cheese platter for 2. The meat, grapes, walnuts & assorted cheeses were fresh & tasty.

Very cozy, lovely atmosphere and ambiance with gentle French cafe style music playing in the background. Very friendly, attentive staff. Every dish we had was exceptional. Have been 3 times in just a few days as it is conveniently located next door to our hotel. Highly recommend breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Great atmosphere. French farm meets contemporary post and beam while music chic enough for Hotel Costes plays. Good cocktails, good food, and friendly staff.

A friend recommended this place when visiting Istanbul. I ordered the steak, and my friend ordered the lamb shank. The steak was good, well cooked but his lamb not so much. There's no sides with the meal so definitely order something additional from the menu. The bread they give you before the food comes was also cold. Ordered some fries, tastes like yuca, which is a gold thing. Service wasn't too good though.

Very nice food filled with Turkish flavor and tasty. Really good style and modifications of classic western food to localization.

Found this gem of a place on Happy Cow after spending a few days in Istanbul. Turkey is a pretty…read moremeat heavy culture, but you can seek out some good veggies places. This is one of them. It is a little hole in the wall place, but they serve up a traditional flavorful dish a bit like seitan basically. You can get it in a wrap and if you are staying somewhere can take a box home for fairly cheap. Also be sure to check out nearby Parsifal. This is a simple sit down affordable place that is 100 percent vegetarian and has many vegan options. The menu labels what is vegetarian and what is vegan making ordering easy.

I have been going to Zencefil for years but last time I was there was about 4-5 years ago. The restaurants has been keeping its style, quality for many years. Even the menu looks like the same except for a few new dishes depending on the season. There are several kinds of vegetable quiches such as eggplant, spinach, etc. The nice think is that before the meal they serve butter mixed with herbs accompanied with bread. There were two kinds of bread; with corn flour and whole wheat. However, the bread could be better, I didn't like the whole wheat bread. I can make batter breads and I am wondering why they do not make their own bread adding different kinds of herbs and vegetables. Although it is a vegetarian restaurant, there one or two chicken dishes on the menu. Since there wasn't so much change on the menu for years, I have already tried most dishes which were OK. I mean the tastes are nice, not heavenly but you know that all of them are healthy. This time I had warm served Aegean stew made of artichokes, faba beans and black-eyed beans. It was so light and tasty, I really like it. I had homemade ginger ale for a drink but frankly saying I didn't like it maybe because I am used to Canadian dry or other brands. But I recommend its lemonade with ginger. I hope they add more experimental vegetable recipes on the menu next time. At the end of the meal they always serve coriander and some dry herb to refreshen the breath which I really like. Lastly, the ambiance is nice, bright, colorful and the place is mostly full of young people and tourists during lunch hours. The service is not bad but I wish they smile more...

We had a bit of an issue where where someone from our group left their phone in the taxi. We needed help translating over the phone and also making phone calls and getting camera recording to find the car number and whatnot, and I'll stop at the restaurant were more than happy to help us. As for the food, everything is delicious! My favorite was the Biberli ekmek (flat thread with spicy cheese on top). That flat bread was phenomenal! Good amount of spicy cheese on top and something you could just have on repeat. Classic Turkish breakfast was also yum. Number of items was impressive! I think even a portion for 2 is enough for 3 or 4 people if you get another item outside of the Turkish breakfast. It comes with a mix of sweet and savory items so you have a whole meal there with dessert included. The main highlights here were the pumpkin item, the red pepper hummus, classic hummus, carrot jam. Traditionally suchukn sausage was also delicious. Dad loved the Muhammara. One thing though is that they put a lot of oil on top of every items so if you want to avoid that maybe ask them to avoid putting oil on things like hummus and the yogurt which don't already have oil inside it. I highly recommend combining multiple dips together in one bite along with the flatbread. really takes it to another level. Almost home items were really good except the cheeses. The string type of cheese and the other soft cheese were very very salty. The flatbread that came on the side was also unbelievably soft! The best part about that was the zatar that they gave along with the flatbread. That zatar was so nice I could eat it on its own. We even asked for a little container to take the extras back with us. Spicy sausage and cheese Menemen was a nice surprise. It was basically scrambled eggs with the spicy sausage and cheese inside the tomato sauce. Family tried the potato stuffed flatbread (gozleme) and I think they really enjoyed it because they wiped that entire plate out.
