I decided to go back to my original Salon for my color, root touch ups mainly, and was so disappointed that Tina does not cut only, a color has to be apart of her service, of which I have never heard of that, nor has any others I have shared with. Rocca in Westport, and luckily for me, Salon Nuvo in Lee's Summit. They applied my feather extension with an actual silicone bead, and special tools, during the Shopping Extravaganza in April, at the independence Event's Center. Feather Extensions last for 6-8 weeks, and I rode this one out, cause I loved it! Hair bling for me. Feather Extensions need to be removed before any chemical process, so when it came that time for the hair, I made the appointment to have it removed, thinking it was $5.00, which is reasonable, considering it calls away the beautician from someone's haircut or color. I arrived on time. There are 2 doors, and I entered the first. It looked small with only a couple of visible chairs, and the basic Redkin products on display. The place is actually 2 sizes as big as it looks, with the other room full of chairs, and sinks. I was greeted by the nicest employee, named Casey. Infact, the 3 women working were very pleasant, and acted like they enjoyed themselves. You don't always see this in shops. I went early in the morning, and it wasn't crowded. Casey is a very cordial and happy person. She removed my feather, and to my surprise, it was free!! She placed my current pink feathers in a bag, so I can use it the next time, but there are so many gorgous colors, I might choose a different feather. If I don't choose a different feather, the cost is only $5.00 for the bead. That's it. They can reuse the feathers. The feathers themselves, cost $10.00 each, and are ostrich, (I think.). I was very happy to not pay $5.00, and Casey got tipped for her work. I asked about prices, for haircuts, she charges $30.00. Highlights and color touch-ups are $45.00. I've used Beauty Brands for years, but, I kid you not, I'd use Salon Nuvo, if anything changes at Beauty brands with Rachel. And in a couple of days, I'll go to Salon Nuvo, and have them replace the feather extension. I think it's cool cause they are so close to where I live, and they provide this service, among other things.

Highlights; This establishment scammed me out of almost 1k. Estienne Vaensland did not provide…read moreappropriate service. Instead he ruined my hair and would not provide even a partial refund for his mistakes. Owners would not help to fix my hair, as they state, "booths are rented out/stylist(s) are their own entity" and thus claim no responsibility over the renter/stylist in question. I have been gaslighted, humiliated, and shamed by everyone involved. The whole experience has left me emotionally and physically traumatized, as I was dehumanized and lashed out against for not "liking the end result." All Estienne cared about was how I insulted him as an "artist" because I expressed my valid concerns. To sum up what happened; he over processed the bleach (he would continually leave to chat on his phone vs watching the time), burned my scalp, would forcefully yank my hair even after I stated that it hurt, left black spots of dye all over my hair (he did not foil, instead used gloves covered in black dye and touched everywhere), gave me an orange color (not copper), and made huge, messy blocks of black dye on my hair, when it was only supposed to be the tips. He also cut my hair too short, looks choppy, and did not layer my hair like I requested. He offered to "fix it" but I did not feel comfortable allowing him to touch my hair/scalp any further in "future appointments" due to the heavy damage that was already done. If it was a minor fixe, I would have no issue, but the fact is, he should of done this correctly the first time and without damaging my hair/scalp. Estienne and the owners chose to disregard my pain, instead of doing the right thing and having a competent stylist fix my hair and or refund me. Please refer to the photos of my damaged hair and decide for yourself. Reference photo is included of what I wanted vs what I got. When I pointed it out, she said yes it's dark, but that's okay. The next day I reached out to Tami and she mistakenly said she can't match store bought color, ( I have my hair professionally colored) and needed the root touch up because I am in Colorado for a short time. Tami said for a charge she would highlight the crown area and around my face for a fee. I have never had a stylist that wasn't willing to fix their mistake.
