This is seriously an amazing salon, I love the decor. The people that work there are very friendly and easy to talk to. I had my hair cut by Crystal and she did an amazing job. She definitely knows her stuff and I plan on her being my new stylist. She took her time and I never felt like it was a rushed job. I also had my nails done by Mya. She was so sweet and you can tell she is very experienced. She made a lot of suggestions on what we could do with my nails. Then it came time to pay... This is where I took away a star. Before I scheduled my appointment with them I looked at their website for prices so I knew somewhat what to expect. It says that a full set of nails were $35...my nails totaled almost double that. That's too much money to not even warn your customer of the price difference. I did add on some extra designs but I would have never imagined it to be $30 extra! I had a great haircut with Crystal. I've been looking for a long time, in Colorado, and she can do my hair! And, do it awesome. I had medium length, fine, hair when I can in and she razored it. Shocking? No! But, very few people in Colorado actually know how to or handle this. I mention this because it is exactly what my hair needs and responds to (if you have thin hair but a lot of it- try this). Anyway, I love my cut. I will be returning. In fact, I'll be bringing my 6 year old here for her hair as well. I don't think this is a place for kids but kids cuts are certainly welcome, if that makes sense. My nail tech here is Melissa and she's awesome. Everyone always asks me where I get my nails done at and I recommend everyone to her! She is great at what she does, has a lot of experience, and always makes sure to design your nails exactly how you want them! I've never been able to grow my natural nails out until I met Melissa. I'm somewhat picky and my design ideas are always different but she always comes up with beautiful nail designs for me. The salon also offers a bar that serves alcohol, hair stylists, AND a makeup artist. The manicures/pedicures are different, too with different scented mani/pedis customized for each customer. I had just moved to Colorado and was in need of a new salon. I saw the reviews for Salon Joa and went in for a Manicure/Pedicure and eyebrow wax on a Monday afternoon. I have never had a better experience at a salon. Everyone present was professional and friendly. I was offered a drink immediately, I decided on a glass of wine. ;) The salon is clean and neat. As a medical professional I pay close attention to cleaning technique. I was not disappointed. My nails were done by Melly. She paid great attention to detail and even happily fixed the color of one nail I was questioning (I found a ombré nail design I wanted to try). It turned out beautifully. She was very knowledgable. Then I went to Jo for my eyebrows. I told her the shape I was looking to achieve. She took her time with me and even filled in my brows at the end. They look amazing. The services are reasonably priced, especially for the service you receive. I feel so good that I decided to go out to dinner with my fiancé instead of staying in and making dinner tonight. JAY IS AMAZING!! I made an appt with Jay to fix a bad highlighting job. I didn't have high hopes, since I was so disappointed with my previous colorist. However, Jay worked his magic, and I was left speechless. Literally speechless. He turned my multi-colored, brassy, orange streaks into a masterpiece. He's truly an artist, and I can't praise him enough. He's also extremely easy to talk to. I felt like I was meeting up with an old friend and catching up. A week after my appointment, I texted Jay for a curling iron recommendation. He texted me back within seconds and gave me some options. He's a great stylist, colorist and person. I got my 1st set of gel x extensions from Gabie and their amazing ! I've been looking for a good nail tech for a while since mine moved out of Colorado and it's hard because of how picky I am but gabie talked me through the whole process and aftercare as well as she was gentle on my natural nails so I could still have them healthy and long again. My wife and I arrived for our scheduled appointments today to find there had been a mixup and we wouldn't be seeing our usual stylist. These things happen and it was the first time for us at this establishment. The staff went into overdrive to try and rearrange appointments and get us in. I was able to get my cut but my wife had to reschedule in a few days. Remember, we had stylists available for us, we just preferred to wait for OUR girl. ;-) We were taken aback by the awesomeness....but not really surprised. I would call this a very middle of the road appointment. It wasn't anything spectacular and it wasn't bad. The salon itself is very clean and seems like things are generally well-kept. I enjoyed the overall atmosphere it seemed like they were having fun which is great. My problem was the lack of consultation surrounding my hair there was hardly any discussion and nothing that I would call a consultation. In fact once she decided what she was doing she just started listing off prices to me. The haircut took approximately one minute and I probably could've gotten it done add somewhere else for $10 instead of 45. Overall I'm happy with my hair and would probably go back. read more

Took my 5year old son to get his haircut here. Paid $18- with $3- tip. I thought his haircut looked decent with his hair wet and combed back. My son took a shower and his hair didn't look as good as I thought it would. The back didn't look smooth especially the left back side. I was hoping his would looked better. read more

I tried one of the male barbers here. Pretty disappointed: 1, He seems to know how to super cut both sides to short only. I shouldn't need to tell him exactly what area needed to be trimmed. 2, He barely interacted with me, only spoke once. Never again. read more

Mel is my new stylist. Hands down, best haircut ever! I had come in to get my hair fixed (from a previous disaster cut), Mel knew exactly what to do and fixed like the pro she is. I went yesterday for a gel manicure and eyebrow wax and they did such an amazing job. My manicure is literally flawless. I mentioned I have pretty sensitive skin in regards to the eyebrow waxing and she was very cautious of that and took her time and even showed me some tips on filling in/shaping them. My first time here, I confused the day of my appointment, but Crystal told me to come on back, anyway. She then proceeded to completely revolutionize my self-image by turning my horrible first attempt at a pixie cut into an adorable and sporty-looking work of art. She even took the time to show me how to style it myself once I got home, and I was able to re-create her masterpiece at ease on my first try. They don't push product here, which I loved, but they did have what I needed to keep my hair looking great. It's clean, lots of light, spacious, and full of friendly people. Long story short (read below for the entire experience)- the hair dresser was unprofessional, I was charged for an adjustment (despite the desk telling me I wouldn't be), and my scalp is incredibly sore. I don't deny that there are talented hair dressers at Salon Joa, my first experience there was wonderful, so I don't know if its simply who I saw but I doubt I will ever be back again. My first experience, a haircut, was amazing so I decided to get a balayage done here as well. This was a mistake as the experience was AWFUL. It took two trips and four rounds of toner to get my hair to a color I could live with. The first trip was the worst salon experience I've ever had- she pulled my hair so hard during the balayage that even days later my scalp was still sore. The first toner had my hair a light blonde, it was pretty but I was after a soft auburn color. The second toner to "fix" it left my hair an awful red with pieces stained pink. I tried to expressed how it wasn't what I wanted but the hair dresser wouldn't listen and told me that it would fade to what I wanted. This felt unprofessional to me as I was paying her for what I wanted, not "it will fade." I called the salon later that night to see what my options were for fixing it, the person I talked to was very nice and schedule me for an adjustment and when I asked said there shouldn't be an additional charge since it was an adjustment from my original appointment and $175. At my adjustment it took another two toners and while my hair is still too red, I like it enough to deal with it. The appointment itself was also a terrible experience, she was rough with hair long nails on my scalp- already sensitive from everything in my first appointment- and even washed the mixing bowl and whisk in the same since I had my head in while the toner was sitting. This was uncomfortably loud and resulted in a lot of water splashing onto my face. And after everything was done she charged me $30 for the adjustment. I have never heard of a salon charging more money for a color adjustment- and neither had they since I was told on the phone that I wouldn't be. Again, like the first appointment, the second was unprofessional and upsetting. read more
