Renee Adam has been cutting my hair for years. She is truly the best in the business. I want to take some to really share my experiences rather then leaving a short little sentence. Not only does Renee have magic hands when it comes to a regular haircut but she also styles hair in so many unique ways rather then the same old styles you see everyone else mimicking. Nobody cuts my hair except for Renee. I Have a very hard time trusting people when it comes to my hair, it may seem vain but it's the truth. I recently relocated to Illinois and refuse to settle for just anyone touching my hair. Renee has family in Illinois ( you get to know your hairdresser when you go to them for years ) and when she comes to visit, she lets me know and I come running. She is not only an amazing hairdresser but an equally amazing business owner. She makes sure that all her employees are providing outstanding customer service. That being said, I'm a little concerned with the negative reviews I read. I recognize that we as customers can have bad experiences but to go to numerous places and have the same "bad experience" makes me wonder if it's the customer and not the location(s). Regarding mark up, I think we are well aware of how businesses run in the United States. The sale price you think you're getting at any business may not really be the "sale price." Companies can't thrive and succeed if they give everything away for free. This is not how our country was built. I have not experienced outstanding pricing at Salon La Bella. They are in the business to earn a living just like any other reputable company. Designer items are extremely marked up by the hundreds and at times by the thousands but we still purchase them. Donot buy anything they sell through marketing companies. They will charge you 20 percent gratuity for every service they provide, hence making up for the discounted rate they offer. Pure rip off. Also shoulder lenght hair is considered long so extra for that. So much for a great deal. Facial room doesn't have a relaxing ambiance and neither does the salon. Better off getting regular service, at least u know what you hare paying for. So I paid 45 for 4 services and will pay 20 dollars gratuity every time I go to get a service. Not sure why there are so many good reviews. It was my first and last time for sure. The atmosphere is not relaxing at all. She has a very rude approach to her customers. For the price I paid I expected my hair to come out like we discussed, and it did not! Then I was told now after my first time she knows what to do to get it right the second time. I'm sorry, but if you have over 20 years of experience doing hair you don't need a trial run to experiment on my hair and charge $160 for half highlights to do it. My hair to say the least turned out Orange, not blonde and I am having to spend more money to get it fixed. Also they didn't spend money on installing counters in the Salon so I was asked to hold the foils and hand to her while she did my hair and dry my own hair with a towel. Unacceptable for the amount of money I paid. If you want to charge top dollar for your services then you should deliver top dollar service. Sorry for the length of review but just trying to save others from wasting their time and money like I did. read more

Reuben did an amazing job with my hair. He was able to get me in last minute for a cut and highlights. He listened to what I wanted, came up with suggestions of his own and even stayed a little later to get my hair done. I was the last customer there, and I was treated really well from start to finish. The only reason it gets one less star is because of the price. Expensive, but worth it in most cases. I went to Salon La Bella to fix a bad haircut I received at another salon. My thick, wavy hair had been heavily thinned out underneath with the top layer left one length and cut into an extreme angled bob. It wasn't suitable for my age and had exposed my gray hair in the back. The only way Renee could fix it was to cut my hair much shorter than I normally wear it. She also colored and highlighted it to blend the gray in the back. My intention was to grow it out into a mid-length bob, but I liked the cut so much, I decided to leave it short. The shampoo and conditioner she recommended gave me just the right amount of moisture in my hair to help me manage the natural wave and made it easy to style. I love the cut, the color, and the products. I have total trust in Renee's ability and feel very lucky to have found her. She is an artist who happens to work with hair! read more
