That's fine, but i wish someone would've at-least greeted me during the 20-25 minutes that i sat there after walking in. The stylist was good. Good enough for me to return for another visit. However, the other reason for the 1 star review is...I totally have tried to revisit, but they NEVER answer the phone. That is unacceptable and awful customer service.

The haircut was good but it was very hard to get in touch with them to find the door. The website still has the old address on the map, so I walked around Bethesda and almost did a walk-in appointment at a different salon. Once I was inside it was a nice experience. You can tell that they have a lot of regulars and good stylists.

Today was the first time I have ever gotten my hair professionally treated in anyway. I stumbled upon Mina's salon a couple weeks ago when I was out in the Bethesda area. I called in and scheduled a consultation and came in to discuss what I wanted to be done. Her salon is cute and fashionable but very homey. She was very polite and took the time to really understand what I was asking to be done. I sent her photos and spoke to her multiple times until my appointment. The day of my appointment I was super nervous because I had a very picky idea of what I wanted. I spent multiple hours getting my hair done and I honestly had an amazing experience. She took the time to walk me through the steps, allowed me to make decisions, and really be in control of my appointment. I felt like she gave me great advice and was honest with me on my decisions. She did a balayage, cut, olaplaex treatment, and blow dry. The end result was more amazing than I had anticipated and I'm very greatful for my time here at Salon Lavand! I really recommend this place to anyone who wants a quick trim to a full hair transformation. Thank you for making my first hair transformation memorable!!! The photos don't do it justice. read more

According to Mina, Salon Lavand's mission is to pamper and please and that she certainly did ! I read other review's before I made my appointment and felt that I could somehow relate to that feeling of always going to the same stylist time and time again. I was forced to step out of my box since my usual colorist was away on vacation and I absolutely had to have my tresses trimmed. I walk into Salon Lavand to to be greeted with warmth and friendliness. True to her word, Mina did everything to bring out the best in me. She is experienced, talented and truly artistic. What I loved most was the relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Picture yourself visiting your friend and asking her to have your hair done. Someone who knows and understands you! I am so happy to traveI to the DC area so I can see Mina again. I rely on Mina to help me keep my look current and yet be almost true to my age. Her skill with highlighting and those magical precision shears always add to my confidence. I have come to trust her suggestions for changes which isn't easy for me. Although you make an appointment for your hair, chatting with Mina is also a good experience for the inside of your head. My head start pounding, so I take a look....Once parting through the hair we noticed that tape ins were improperly placed directly on the skin of the scalp, in no organized method, which resulted in major hair damage and bleeding patches throughout my scalp. The tape ins started to come out with my skin and hair follicles attached. Despite the horrible cut and hair damage, I experienced the worse shampoo I've ever had. I actually had to stop her in the middle of the shampoo and ask her to stop rubbing and scrubbing so hard because it really felt as if she was scrubbing every follicle out of my head. It's gets worse.....I won't get into all the details but please be sure to ask this woman about the fees associated with purchasing hair from her "vendor." I was told the hair cost one price but when the receipt was sent to me, it showed that the hair was in fact half the price she actually took from me. When confronted she basically told me that I should be okay with a 50% mark up because she needed to make a profit and most salons do the same things. Oh and I did my research on this woman....I normally don't like to leave negative reviews but I have tried speaking to this woman amicably for weeks, and I still have no resolve. Now she's decided to "not engage with me" because she owes me "no clarification." I wouldn't want any one to experience this so I thought I'd share.
