But Salon Notre and Bita came to the rescue. They were able to take me the same day I called, and even were able to do my makeup. Bita cleaned up the ends of my hair and my scary eyebrows. Justine is amazing! I went in to dye my hair like always and she immediately suggested a glaze which I never used before. It was not just quicker but safer! I loved how the color came out it was exactly what I wanted. She cut my hair beautifully as well. Extremely bad service. Worst haircut my husband has ever gotten and he used to go to Super Cuts years ago. $25 and it looks like he didn't get a haircut at all. The girl (Wally) literally didn't cut the hair on top of his head, only the sides and back, and she did an awful job on both. She also never asked if he liked it, didn't brush the loose hair away, and his side burns aren't even. It looks like the person that cut his hair had zero training. If anyone can recommend a place for men's haircuts, I'd appreciate it. Also, they don't take American Express, you can only tip cash, (both of which they didn't inform him of as a new customer), and forced him to swipe his credit card twice because they didn't charge him the right price the first time. In conclusion, don't go here - I won't be and I'll be recommending others to avoid it at all costs. EDIT: OWNER OF THE SALON (Antoinette) called my husband and not only apologized but also refunded his money. I very much appreciate her reaching out to us and I understand it can be difficult to run a small business. If you do go to this salon I highly recommend speaking with the owner directly, as she seemed knowledgeable and helpful. I went to Salon Notre for a hair and makeup package I bought from Groupon, and had a fantastic experience. First - the salon itself is very cute and the women who work there are all extremely warm and welcoming. Second, I had an extremely tight time frame - I was in a wedding and could only give my stylist 75-ish minutes for hair AND makeup (90-120 is usually recommended).I only had an extremely vague idea of what I wanted, but walked out (5 minutes EARLY!!!) looking and feeling great. My hair and makeup looked great all night - about 15 hours total! Thanks! read more

Antoinette is truly THE "Color Doctor"(she coined this term during my appointment with her!). I walked in with my hair in 3 busted colors at different stages in their growth. I showed her a photo of some pretty blonder highlights I was looking at. She took it, matched and exceeded it! She truly cured my poor hair, then Kat came in and shaped my outgrown lob into a work of art. Liz was such a sweetheart anticipating whether I'd like a beverage and giving a great hair wash! I was less than happy with the results of my keratin treatment I received at this salon. I have been getting keratin treatments for years and the one I got here was the worst. I use a strict no sulfate regimen and know how to properly take care of my hair after a treatment but regardless of that, my treatment from here shockingly only lasted a little over a month. In the past I've had treatments that have lasted as long as 5-6 months. I absolutely love my keratin treated hair, but will never recommend getting a treatment done at this salon. read more

I got a haircut for the first time at Salon Notre and it will be the last time. Haircut uneven, choppy and not blended. I don't understand why a hairdresser / stylist would cut your hair at a short length and not tell you that maybe they are not comfortable with a short hair cut. If I would have got a trim and it was uneven it would be easier to fix. I probably have to cut my hair even shorter to even it out. I'm giving it 3 because the people were very sweet and welcoming. It has a cute boutique vibe. But truth be told we were disappointed with the up-do and make-up. We found a group-on for $90 hair and make-up and thought we struck a good deal for my sister's prom. My sister wanted a low bun and showed the lady several pictures but ended up with a high side bun. Perhaps we could have pointed it out early on in the process that she seemed to be pulling up her hair too high but honestly we were trusting that she understood the image. It wasn't terrible, and overall was a 'professional job' but, don't expect to have them duplicate an image you bring in . She seemed to end up doing her own "twist" on the up-do. Make-up was not very good. We couldn't even really tell under salon lighting until we went outside. Her foundation gave her a dull complexion and did not blend at all into her skin. Her lashes were also clumpy and smudged onto her face. I ended up removing most of it and re-doing her makeup once we got home. To be fair I don't think she had make-up appropriate for our skin tone (We have indian caramel brown skin), and so they were trying to mix and match. I would ask in advance if the artist is familiar working with darker skin tones. EDIT: Ann the owner reached out and was very kind. Echoing what another reviewer mentioned in communicating with the owner if you have any concerns. I appreciate their effort to appease us. With the rush of the day we didn't really have time to re-do anything. Again like I said earlier, everyone in the salon is very sweet. Just be clear/prepared with what you want going in. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE and DO NOT BUY GROUPON This place is just stilling your money. They will charge you more on top of your groupon. I went there two weeks back. I had a groupon for their keratin straightening treatment. They advertise as a straightening treatment but which is not. After shampoo, my hair is still the same way as it is. Not even a little change. They just lure people to come to their salon with fake advertisement and then rips the clients for charging more than advertised. When I went there and set down the lady who was supposed to do this treatment told me that it will be extra $30 because you have more hair. On top of that she was rude like I have never seen anyone before. Such a waste of time and money, I will recommend everyone that DO NOT Go to this place. Just save yourself.!! The people that run this place are amazing and what keep me coming back even though I live 40 minutes away. Antoinette was honest with me about wanting to get a blonde balayage on hair that has been box-dyed dark brown, but she still managed to pull it up lighter than I expected while making it look extremely natural. I then got my haircut by Bita, and I had told her that I had been playing with the idea of cutting my waist-length hair but that I was nervous about it. Most hairstylists would have talked me out of it, probably out of fear that I would be upset later, but Bita actually convinced me to do it and I absolutely LOVE my cut - I left that salon happier with my hair than I have been in a long time. It just goes to show that they (rightly) have every confidence in their work. The entire time I was there several people asked me if they could get me anything and if I was comfortable in my seat, and you can sense that they are genuinely interested in their clients as well as passionate about what they do. For me, it is absolutely worth the money and the drive to go here. read more

Update: Actual owner of the salon reached out to apologize for the situation. Thank you for making the call. Manager is a horrendous shrew who does not know how to treat customers. I cannot believe that she is in a service based business. I was not informed that there was only cold water to wash my hair with until the shampoo girl had already wet half my head. She then told me to sit up while she waited for it to warm up. Another employee told her it was unlikely the water would warm up in a few minutes. I did no yelling at your "young girl", just stated that I didn't want my hair washed with cold water. This is when your manager came to me, I thought to apologize and ask how she could rectify the situation. Instead she started yelling about how she would need to get a plumber and me having wet hair to leave with was not like they had cut it wrong? I was having my hair blown out for an event this evening and had to quickly find another solution. Manager followed barely a step behind me which is why she got hit with my jacket, I needed to put it on in order to go out into the misty cold with a wet head. Manager then walked to the door to make a snide comment within my earshot as I was walking back to my car. I returned to defend myself, something that I never thought I would be doing at a hair salon. My mistake that she was the owner. Given the responsibility to run someone's business should be done with the utmost respect and professionalism, something that woman has neither of. read more
