I sent in a request on Yelp and they asked that I text/call a number. After some interactions through text, a picture of what I wanted, and instructions that I wanted a 1" trim from the bottom length and a relayer, I scheduled my appointment a few days later. This spot is VERY Chinese. Lots of banter in the language but I liked the energy it gave. A little bit of a language barrier but I tried to keep it short and brief, and we "communicated" through photos of what I wanted, and what he could do. Almost all the chairs were full. I brought my son with me and everyone was nice to him (-: He was able to sit on a chair and wait for me while I had my hair done. Ming gave me exactly what I wanted. Basically a refresh. They were able to shampoo and rinse my hair, I was put in the chair, Ming and I had an exchange, and he went to work with precision and expertise. QUICKLY may I add.. I found my local salon. She made sure I would leave feeling extra confident and just straight up pretty! Then when I started moving towards a bob, Jennica would always keep me on point! Julie also gave my son his first haircut back in 2017 and she had so much patience and incredible skills to work quickly with him! I am extremely heart-broken to share that I received the sad news that Julie is no longer with us. I wanted to write this to let her other clients know in case anyone is left wondering what happened to the one of a kind beautiful owner of this well established hidden gem of a salon. It was my second time coming in, and since my hair had grown out, I just needed a trim cleaning up the sides while keeping the length on top. Karl Cheung was my stylist, and he was fantastic. He immediately understood what I wanted and executed it perfectly. I also had my hair washed before the cut and tried a down perm for the first time, which made a huge difference since my hair tends to stick up and get unruly. Overall, the experience was great the vibe, the music, and how clean everything was really stood out. And honestly, for the quality, the price (even with tip) at $153 felt totally worth it. The ladies were very nice and the person who cut my hair happened to speak cantonese so she gave me good tips on haircare and told me that my hair is so wavy that it won't stay straight despite her straightening several times. Over the course of the appointment they kept cutting more and more very quickly without asking. By the end they had layered it and cut more than 4 inches off. I'm writing this review for my mom (she has dementia)and these are my thoughts and observations…read more For one, this was the first time here because my mom's hairdresser lost her place in Dublin, so she found a stall here. Anyways, the place itself is pretty convenient since it's located by the freeway. The place is surprisingly pretty big and spacious and my mom's hairdresser is always patient and polite. I will admit probably for my mom's next visit I'll have to stick around a tad longer and help my mom and her hairdresser when my mom gets her hair washed. So not everything there is I guess ADA available, but it's a minor thing for now since my mom has very limited mobility but can move with some assistance. As for the hairstyle, mom is always happy and I personally think makes her feel as normal as she can get these days and being content let alone having another outside interaction besides with me is always a good thing!

This review is for Libby…read more I've been seeing Libby for over two years and actually travel back to the Bay Area just to have my hair done by her - that's how good she is. She's a true color magician. She helped me transition through the awkward grey stage at exactly the right time, and later brought me back to light brown in a way that blends beautifully with my fast-growing greys and grows out naturally without constant upkeep. The moment I knew I could fully trust her was when she gave me a short haircut, something I'm usually very hesitant about and absolutely nailed it. Finding a stylist who is genuinely excellent at both color and cutting is surprisingly rare, and Libby is both. She listens carefully, understands the science behind how color and texture behave, and designs styles that actually look great as they grow out not just the day you leave the chair. She's also warm, funny, and incredibly easy to be around. Even my husband, who normally avoids hair maintenance altogether, got a cut from her and loved it. I showed her a reference photo, and she even pulled out her color book to confirm the exact shade. I clearly chose the color I wanted. When she finished, my hair was bright red not the shade we agreed on. She then told me she ran out of the original dye because I have a lot of hair, so she decided to use a different red without asking me. That was extremely upsetting. This is not my first time getting my hair done, and I know what I asked for. I told her it needed to be fixed and asked how much she was charging. She said $300. I was in disbelief and honestly started crying because I could not go to work like that. I felt unheard and very uncomfortable. While correcting it, she dyed my hair back to brown/black (close to my natural color), but she had an attitude the entire time. She was pulling my hair aggressively, and when I told her my scalp was burning, it didn't seem to matter. My head was on fire. At the end, she insisted I pay the full $300. I felt pressured and didn't want conflict, so I paid and left feeling worse than when I walked in. The owner was present the entire time and did nothing. I left with damaged hair, a burned scalp, and regret for trying a new salon. I would not recommend this place. -0 stars
