Been coming to Tracy for 2 years now she's the best in the east bay!! The parking is never a problem here. Some things to note you have to call to book appointment. She's a super sweet lady and genuinely kind once you get to know her. The quality + price of the haircut is what keeps me going. ($20 for men's haircut) in this economy is such a steal. I always get the zero fade and cut 3/4 inch on the top and she remembers always. (Which we love and appreciate! ...Thank you, Tracy) I am once again posting this on behalf of my Mom. After the controvery we've had from our last review for Tracy, Miss Tracy had updated her business and quality of service--she has let go her assistants (whom missed to see how she wants her business to be), and made the service by appointment only to assure a high quality work done to her clients. (Which must have been difficult for Tracy, but we so appreciate this, because this immensely up the quality of her salon and service) Actually, if you read my last review, it didn't reflect the work Miss Tracy does. My apologies if that was unfair. I wanted other to take a chance to see the work for themselves, because quality of work usually speak for themselves. And for Tracy's work, I wasn't worried. Because in fact, when Tracy works on my Mom's hair, my Mom is happy and per her words she said: "MY HAIR DOES'NT ITCH WHEN TRACY DOES MY HAIR compared to getting my hair done else where". Tracy is very talented from how my Mom compliments her work and how I see her hair after she gets it done from this salon. It was probably the past assistants whom she was protecting then that didn't seem to value the customers the way she had wanted them to. Today, I can say that she has really improved her way of business, because despite our negative review in the past, she has accomodated my Mom along side of my aunt and Mother in law. I often make same-day appointments, sometimes just a few hours in advance, and it's always convenient. I want to start off by saying she is a rude lady. Gave me a haircut in less than 6 minutes. She butchered my hair so bad that even a different hair dresser whom I went to said the layers were uneven and the only way he would be able to fix it would be by cutting it super short. Well I walk in and showed her a picture of the haircut I wanted. and what did she do, well it was awful. She honestly made me feel so upset and being pregnant I cried for how she cut my hair. All I can say is don't go to her, she doesn't care about her customers. She is an awful rude lady who didn't bother to even check my hair after she cut it. I have been looking for a new salon and hairstylist for my mom. I drive for Lyft, and one of my passengers recommended Tracy salon. It was closed on Wednesday, but called to leave a voicemail message to schedule an appointment, but not able to leave a message at the number listed. They are open today and just called, went straight to the same message that the caller is unable to receive messages. There is no website listed. It's by appointment only so not sure how to get one scheduled ??? Is there a new number? I guess when I'm in the area or nearby business I can stop by and check for availability and pricing info. Been getting my hair cut here since post-Covid lockdowns and such, and I'm really happy with the results of course, but also the service. Tracy schedules me pretty much whenever I want, and does a great job. I have short hair and want it cut a certain way, and she delivers. P.S. there's some other negative reviews on here about pricing and such. I don't know about that. I'm just a guy with a simple haircut, and this is probably the cheapest and best haircuts I've gotten in my whole 36 year life. So take from it what you will. ‍ read more

I went in to get my haircut I brought pictures of hairstyles that I liked. Tracy tried very hard to dissuade me from getting a haircut based on the pictures I brought in. She said I would regret it. She asked me to look at a book she had of hairstyles and told me pick one of these they would be better. The book was very old and outdated I guess I should've known at that point that I should've left but my hair was really damaged and I really needed a haircut and I was able to get an appointment the same day. I was contemplating writing this review, all day, ever since I got my hair cut this morning. I'm not happy :( I'm not trying to write this to put them down, it's mainly out of my disappointment, but I guess it's a warning to everyone else. Be clear of what you want when you go in there! I woke up and searched hair salons on yelp and Tracy's popped up with wonderful reviews, so I decided I'd try this out. It was spontaneous of me , part of me had a bad feeling, because I don't really trust people with my hair, however I knew it had to be done. So I went in. I got seated right away which was a plus, Tracy was busy with a client so another lady would be the one to cut my hair. I don't think she told me her name, she was more mature in age, and I know there was a language barrier. Which is fine, so I told her what I wanted. A hair trim, chest length, and originally just wanted it cut straight across , but Tracy came in and suggested layers. So the lady began to cut. You know that feeling when you know they're cutting too much, but you basically can't go back? Yeah that's what happened. My trim somehow turned into a soft A-Line bob... I don't understand how. The layers are very choppy and what I'm most disappointed about is the fact that it's wayyyy too short. I never would cut my hair this short:( it's not what I asked for. But of course when they're already chopping your hair off, there's not much I can do. When she did the cut, she did not wet my hair, she did it dry. She used a straightener throughout the process and did not add any product to my hair , which also bothers me because my hair is bleached. It just wasn't a great experience, especially after not cutting my hair for so long. I feel like it's my fault because I should have been more clear, but at the same time she just kept cutting and cutting, I knew it wasn't going to be what I wanted :( When the lady finished , Tracy looked at me and apologized. I feel like Tracy heard what I said when the lady asked what I wanted, however when she was cutting , Tracy didn't say much to her but I could tell she was looking at us and it didn't look promising. Tracy May have said something to her during my cut, regarding my cut, but I couldn't understand. At the end of it, I told them it was too short & it's not what I wanted, but it's fine. I paid and I still tipped because I felt bad. My coworkers are cosmos so they know about hair, they said it didn't look bad, but they did notice it wasn't cut the best, and that I probably shouldn't have layered it because my hair is very fine in texture. At the end of the day , BE CLEAR WITH WHAT YOU WANT. ALWAYS. I went in for a trim and left with an A-line ??! :( I feel like this salon isn't bad, I just didn't end up with what I wanted. Now I'm going to have one of my coworkers fix it because I feel more comfortable, however I will need to cut more hair I'm going to leave a pic for reference of how short it is. The pic with the jacket is the length it used to be. The pic with the lights shows the choppy-ness of it & the new length. Luckily it's not the worst cut, but again it's just not what I had planned. This salon is a little shop tucked away in a corner. I came once a year or so ago and thought they did a good job. Since then, my fiancé has come a few times to get his haircut which has always turned out great. Today, we came a little late, arriving about 10 min before closing but the ladies still had us take a seat. Tracy cut my hair and did a great job cutting out al the dry ends, adding really nice layers, to be finished off with nice trimmed bangs. She was very attentive to detail and I couldn't be happier with how soft and shiny my hair looks. I rarely get my hair cut but I think I will definitely be coming back for more regular trims. I called to see if she could take my 3 year old daughter for a last minute Bain trim since I was in the parking lot- she said yes I moved my car from one end of the parking lot (getting a oil change) to her front door. As soon as I pulled to her door she runs to her car and leaves with no eye contact as if I didn't just pull up to this empty parking lot. Tracy is a hair goddess!!! Do not let the plaza and location of this hair salon fool you... I have long hair that I am very attached to, hence why I didn't get a trim for almost a year (I'm terrible at being a girl, I know). However, during my pregnancy, I figured it was time to cut my hair and give it some life because it was just taking too long for my hair to dry after I showered. I came here after I read the reviews. Not gonna lie, I was a little skeptical, but I am at the point where I'm starting to accept that my hair WILL grow back. Plus, I figured if it came out bad, I could simply throw it up in a bun until I get another trim. When I got there, I had to wait 30 minutes, it was pretty busy. When it was my turn, I was a little worried when she didn't offer shampooing for free and began cutting my hair when it was only damp. Whew, I was worrying for nothing... Tracy gave me exactly what I wanted: a v-cut with tons of layers! She didn't cut too much, and I have only loved one other haircut more than hers!! I couldn't feel happier and left feeling like a million bucks. Plus, during my cut Tracy was very sweet and friendly and kept apologizing and explaining herself for the few times she was speaking in Vietnamese with the other beautician. My mom is old school...doesn't think a haircut should cost more than $10...but sometimes, you get what you pay for and might come out looking like KD Lang. Well this place charges $20 for a wash, haircut and blow dry (tipped $5) so i treated my mom for Mother's Day. Tracy, the owner did a nice job/style and my mom was happy even though it looked nothing like the picture she brought in. Still a good value for the service she received. Would i get my haircut here? Probably if i'm wanting a simple trim, straightening, curl, coloring, wash, etc. but otherwise, no... I'm a bit of snob when it comes to my hair! As i was waiting for my mom, I could tell that the stylist named Sophie was the person to go to for that inexpensive bf haircut. Most guys don''t believe in spending more than $20 for a haircut....Sophie seems really good with the razor and attention to detail. I went in today and I've been freaking out about getting my hair done because I've done it a few times and every time someone touches my hair they end up ruining it or they just do whatever they want with my hair and don't listen to what I ask for. Tracy listened to everything I said and I showed her a photo of what I wanted and she matched it exactly. I had previous highlights and she made sure to not bleach those over when she was lightening my hair to prevent damage and that really made me feel like she cared about my happiness as a customer. I have never been so greatful to have her and her helpers make my hair gorgeous. Her price was very fair as compared to other places where this hairstyle can go from $200 to $350 she really cares for her clients and does great work without breaking your bank. I called them yesterday for a hair wash and blow dry and she said I could come and she would do it... when I got there she said that she wanted to see the length puny hair even before I open my hair she said no no you have long hair so I will not do it... I only do short hair like really short... When I called her I told her that I have to be somewhere so please don't say YES if you will not be able to do it ... but they just want to take your money so there so others people with something expensive that they wanted to do so she didn't care about the money she would make from me. Came in on a Friday afternoon without an appointment and was immediately taken. I only wanted a trim and wanted to keep my hair long. The hair stylist (I didn't ask for her name) did exactly what I asked her to do and didn't cut my hair too short! She even showed me twice how much she was going to cut. She did just that - nothing more and nothing less. For my trim, it was $20 plus I tipped $5 because I didn't leave traumatized that my hair was cut way shorter than what I asked ;) I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. $35 for a kids haircut. Our first and last time at this Salon. I took my 11 yr old daughter to get a short boy-like haircut and color the tips. She had long virgin hair and ready for the change. We showed Tracy a picture and she said "Ok, sit down". During the cut, another customer walked in but walked out when he saw the place was full. She stopped cutting and chased the guy down the parking lot to lure him back inside for a haircut done by someone else if he can wait 3 min. Continued cutting my child's hair...then a lady walked in and Tracy stopped to sit the woman down and started dyeing her roots!!! Left me and my child waiting for about 15 min to start on another customer because she didn't want her walking out either. She then came back to my child and quickly finished her cut, which came out too short in the front. Nothing like what my daughter wanted from the picture- a stylish, longer front bangs, side-parted boy cut. (buzz cut in the back and longer in the front) Tracy then said to dye the color purple would be $300 (even though its only the tips on top of her head)...My daughter has very thick hair and said she don't know how many times she'd have to bleach it. She added that it will be perfect while other people will burn your child's scalp. I questioned her if she would bleach it consecutively 3 or 4 times in one day if needed? She knew where I was getting at and with her broken English, said..."Seem like you know some about bleaching then, if you no want it, you can try do yourself. That the price for my color...and if you want today, I cannot because already I busy and you need to come back, maybe tomorrow, make appointment". When we walked in, she shouldn't have sat us down when she wasn't going to finish the job! She charged us $35 for the cut, didn't even wash my child's hair. If we had came only for a haircut, I'd expect a hair wash then, especially before the cut because my child's hair is filthy! Purposely unwashed for days to prepare for her first hair dye. Makes me wonder if shes always reused all her tools on dirty hair without sanitizing. To make matters worse, before leaving I noticed there was a spot behind the ear where she had missed cutting and I had to point that out for her to fix. The prices, the service, the outcome, was nothing like I'd expected and my daughter is so upset with her new look, she has been wearing a hoodie covering herself for the past two days. read more

But due to Covid-19 and just being busy, I haven't had the opportunity to get hair cuts as often as I would like. I contacted Tracy for an appointment and came in later in the day. I came in, waited for a chair to open up and then she started cutting my hair. Midway into it she starts publicly shaming me about my hair length in front of other customers and how my men's hair cut takes 20 minutes as opposed to 10 minutes like all of her other male customers. She failed to mention that I had to wait before she started cutting my hair and my appointment didn't start on time as a result. I hate going to the hair salon. I love when it's over and I have a beautiful new hair cut but I hate actually GOING in and waiting for the beautician to cut my hair and make sure it's straight and make small talk, they usually want to talk about their kids. I don't like kids. For these reasons, I don't make appointments. I go when I feel like going, when the mood strikes me. Therefore, my options are usually limited to Super Cuts and places of the like. So last Tuesday (yes, election night) I actually felt like a hair cut after work. I couldn't find a Super Cuts. I went to a fabric store for material for a skirt I was making and looked over to find bebe Hair Salon. Their light was on, "Walk Ins Welcome" sign was on. I thought, "What the hell?" I was greeted by Yvonne. She was a lovely young woman who asked what I wanted (layers and about 5 inches cut off) and if I wanted them long, medium or short layers (medium). Wow, I've never been asked that before. I didn't want the style, which always brings the price up. No complaints, she just set about doing her work. Election coverage was on so we listened. We made small talk which was interesting but not too personal, the election, the recession, living in Hayward, etc. While I liked all of this, the salon itself has not been changed since about 1970. The stations were clean but out of date. The owner is not a hair dresser but an owner which can be seen when looking around. I'm not sure I would go here for more than a cut and some waxing. Not because of the skills of the stylists but the quality of the products used, which I don't know but am guessing by looking around. In no time I was done and it was the best cut I had received in years!!! She did not push products on me, another bonus. And how much for this lovely head of hair? $20. Worth every penny. I haven't had a haircut for about half a year, and my hair had grown long enough to cover most of my back. I went with my boyfriend to this salon to get a quick fix (i.e., chop off the dead ends and cut it to a long but manageable length). Sadly, I'm probably going to have to go to a better salon to get my bangs fixed. (I should have gone to a better salon in the first place, but I guess this is the risk I take when choosing to get a "quick fix" from a plaza's little corner salon.) I have never had my bangs cut this poorly ever. The saddest thing is I had my hair cut by the OWNER of this salon, Tracy. She was using a typical picture of Ashley Olson's side-swept bangs to show me as an example of what she'd do for me. I have absolutely no idea how she thought my bangs looked anything like the one in the picture. She literally chopped my side-bangs straight across with no tappering whatsoever. I asked her to fix it, and when she did, it looked just the same but shorter. She then handed me a booklet with photos of other haircuts and told me to find a picture of bangs I'd like and moved on to another customer. I couldn't believe she just left for another customer and didn't even bother to help me fix/finish my cut! I didn't trust the owner to cut my bangs again. I had one of the other stylists come and try to fix my bangs. She carefully trimmed bits and pieces here and there. By then, I was fed up with my experience here and decided to take my cut for what it was and leave. I appreciate that the stylist, Jenny, tried to help me fix the cut I had, but I will never be coming back to this salon. It wasn't worth paying $22 for a haircut that I'm extremely dissatisfied with (to put it lightly). It will always bother me when an owner could just pick up and leave to start on another customer just because the salon is supposed to close in 2 hours. read more
