A good neighbor/family of mine brought me here for my birthday earlier this year. It's a family business ran by the daughter, mother and son. They have been in business as a family the last two years. However, they pay attention to details and cater to their customers. Great customer service is always a plus! Watching the family work together is a SOLit thing to see. The place is clean and doesn't have that chemical smell like many nail and hair salons. I was recommended by a friend of a friend and hadn't gotten a haircut in ages, and it was hard to trust anyone with my hair again after a negative experience I've had in the past with a different salon. They were so bright the moment my mom and I stepped in, and it made me wish my hair would grow back faster just so I could get it cut there again They also offer a variety of other services. My mom ended up getting her brows waxed after her haircut (which was unplanned), and it was so quick I'd forgotten she even got it done. Most importantly, they looked great! A nice hidden gem off Hesperian in San Lorenzo. I believe it's family owned and they've been doing this for awhile. They typically do men's haircuts so you'll see lots of men waiting for their cuts, but I think they recently remodeled their location and expended their services to include nails, waxing, and lashes. The men's haircuts, I've heard great things about it given how quick and affordable it is. I got my haircut done here a few months ago + pedicure. The haircut was nice, it was pretty quick and I paid about $30-40 for it. I got a pedicure one Saturday morning, which turned out OK. TBH, I got the wrong color and didn't noticed it until it was too late. I was confused, I opted for something more nude/pink and I got dark purple toe nails. Also, the lady who did my toes hurt my cuticle a couple times. I almost wanted to say something. I felt uncomfortable getting my pedicure in front of the hair section where men were getting their hair done. I felt like the combination doesn't work, it seems they want to expand further than just men's haircuts but I personally don't think the combination works. I would come back for my hair though. The front desk person was super friendly and they offer drinks while you wait. read more

This used to be "Hair Studio", but it has since undergone a significant remodel and is now "Modern Hair Studio". It is definitely modern and much nicer! This went from being a bit of a dated hair salon with a very limited offering to now a place offering haircuts for men, women, kids, nails, skin care, and much more. I love the look and feel of the place after the remodel. It's the same space as before, but feels much more modern, warm, and spacious. I've been getting my hair cut by Maggie and she always does a fantastic job. I appreciate that she ensures I am satisfied with the cut before I leave. Every time I come in, without fail, multiple people come in and wait to get their hair cut by Maggie which speaks volumes to the quality of her work.
