I was traveling to Boston and needed to get my hair done for a friend's wedding. I found Salon One and had to call to book my appointment. I could not believe I was unable to do this online. This has to be the first Salon I have been to in years who you weren't able to book online. That should have been a red flag but it was a high end Salon. I landed and once I checked in I called to book an appointment. When I did, the young lady on the phone was pleasant and helped me out with my appointment, she told me she squeezed me in. I arrived at my appointment and remembered I was told to call first so I did. I didn't reach anyone so after calling many times I decided to walk in. This older woman at the front desk counter started to speak loud and began to be reprimanded for not calling first. I politely explained I called many times but no one answered. She still had an attitude and began to slam things around and complain. I did tell her I can find another place to go if there was a problem, at that time her attitude changed. She called over the person who would be doing my hair and she then showed me to her area. The place seems very tight and I am not sure how they even work in this place. She began to do my hair but she looked a bit confused. It's a simple keratin treatment that I have been doing for years. When I made my appointment I made sure I asked for someone with experience doing these services. Another person came over and they went off into another room without even telling me she would be back or explaining the situation. She came back and proceeded to do my hair. She never apologized for leaving me there or even explained why. I was a bit nervous and concerned but I just let her do what she needed. While getting my treatment the woman who was very rude to me when I walked in came by many times to talk to her. It was simply gossip. I usually don't care but I was wondering if this woman even knew what she was doing and the gossip in front of a client is unnecessary. I started to chat with the woman doing my hair and she ended up being personal, talking about her family living in Florida and other topics. This did make me more comfortable with her. After I was done it wasn't the best service I've received and I was going to say something but I just wanted to leave. She brought me up front to finalize payment and the woman at the front desk wasn't there. She left to go find her and didn't return for 10 minutes. When she did return she had an even worse attitude. I was completely embarrassed, she was complaining about the Salon. She was ranting about the management and how horrible they are. She even started to talk about a client who was still there. If you don't like your job please go find another one. I have never seen a place so unprofessional. I would never go back to this Salon or would I recommend it. The woman at the front desk is rude and unprofessional. The woman who did my treatment was friendly, but I question her ability. I paid by credit card but was not able to tip via credit card. She had told me there was an ATM nearby or could use an app to tip her. This was very unprofessional. I did leave and came back with a tip. When I returned the woman at the front counter continued to have an attitude. She asked me what I wanted. I might be being petty but you never ask someone that. She knew exactly what I was doing and didn't offer to help. I walked in and dropped the money off. I did ask to speak to a manager and the woman at the front desk mentioned she was the manager. Her attitude and lack of professionalism shocked me that she was a manager. I tried to express my issue and she wasn't interested in listening to what I had to say. I just left and couldn't believe what I had just witnessed. I would strongly recommend NOT going to Salon One in Wellesley Massachusetts . There has to be a better choice in the area with friendlier staff. I would call it a step up from lord and ladies definitely not a high end salon. read more

I'm Salon One's newest customer in Wellesley location. I had a warm welcome from Gail at front desk reception whom escorted me to my appointment with Lili for an eyebrow and upper lip appointment. Lili made my visit special sharing the services she provides for a long term care. Thank you Lili, we will be seeing each other real soon. Then off to my Hair Extension appointment with Laura Mourad. Laura Mourad is extremely creative, puts her talents to the test with a simple flick of her wrists with her stylist scissors! She is one stylist who shows ease, style and grace! I loved her recommendation of the "Living Proof" shampoo and styling cream used on my hair. The best is yet to come, Ahhhh a blow dry and extensions customized for me! I am trying the thickening mouse and nourishing cream at home and love them! I feel 10 years younger! I welcome anyone for services as this sleek hip and trendy life of beauty salon experience! Just had a GORGEOUS cut and blow dry with Jen Raymond of Salon One in Wellesley! It was so terrific, that I decided to write a review..... I have been a longtime client of The Parlor and although the stylists are very good ---they are extremely expensive.....and decided to look at some other alternatives. I decided to make an appt. with Jennifer at the recommendation of the receptionist based on my hair type ... We had a nice consultation and she quickly cut and blew dry my hair....all in less than 1 hour! She gave me an updated cut..not the dreaded MOM BOB!!! I felt like a new person --with soft bangs when I left.....and looked 10 years younger! Nothing is worse than having your haircut slowly...truly torture for me and then spending 45 minutes or more to blow dry it! How nice to be on my way quickly and looking better than I could have imagined! Oh, the price..just $75..and no pushing of expensive products....Everyone is friendly and the Salon is a cheerful and upbeat place....and CLEAN! So glad to have found her...even better..they have their own lot for easy parking.....life is good! read more

My favorite stylist Jen Raymond, who I followed from Ardan Salon, also in Wellesley, just began working here. So I was interested to try out Salon One. I was delighted from the moment I walked in. Happy, smiling people greeted me at the door and walked me upstairs. Jen works in the upstairs loft addition, and it's a different type of setup for a salon. Separated but connected. It's adorable, small yet cleverly designed. It's calm yet fun. All the other stylists seemed so happy to be there, and I think that speaks volumes about a salon. As usual, Jen worked her magic and I walked out feeling a million times better. The color has lasted, her cuts grow out beautifully. She takes her time. You can tell she loves what she does. I'd follow her anywhere, and I highly recommend her. Another plus, parking is free. read more

I started going to her for Ouidad cuts because she was certified and recommended...and I completely trust her judgment and her expertise...and she is just one of the nicest people in the world! Skincare by Lili is great. My whole family has been going to Lili for years. We followed her from her last work place to Salon One in Wellesley because her facials and skincare are amazing. I've had many facials in the past by different people and by far Lili's is the best. Lili gives personal attention and uses products for sensitive skin and her room is very clean and relaxing.. I went in to Salon One after reading all the positive reviews online. These reviews were SPOT ON! I had Robin fix my hair after someone else added a red-ish color to it and my hair was totally uneven!! I am so happy with the results and will definitely be going back! I had my haircut with Jen Raymond! She knows what she is doing! After several bad haircuts with other hairstylists, I felt comfortable by looking how Jen was cutting my hair. Joanne is the best! Does a great job cutting/ styling my hair which is shoulder length, very fine and starting to grey; does an equally good job with both daughters long hair, one blonde, thick and straight, the other dark and wavy. So regardless of your hair type, I'm guessing Joanne will give you a great cut. read more
