My experience was a nice one my first time at Salon Rache. My appointment was at 8am because I prefer early morning appointments. I arrived waited a few minutes before the shampoo assistant came and called me by name. He was pleasant and started my shampoo. It was amazing and he asked me did my hair itch anywhere. He massaged and scratched appropriately. He also asked me to inform him if he was scratching too hard. Afterwards he set and molded me and I sat under the dryer. Me and the dryer have never been friends so me and that heffa did have it out but I sat there under her for what it seemed like 5EVA. It was around about 45-1hr I guess. I visited this salon recently in search of a stylist to wash and condition my hair. I booked with Branden on a Wednesday morning. He acknowledged me as his client and greeted me. He took my coat and made me feel welcome. Branden accommodated me and listened to my suggestions of how I styled my hair. As a new client, I was reluctant to try this salon given the previous reviews. I'm glad I did give Branden a try. He thoroughly cleansed, detangled and conditioned my 4c hair. I was able to sit under the dryer for my treatment. After my blow dry, he silk pressed my hair without excessive heat. I would recommend Branden for your styling needs. He is knowledgeable, patient and professional. I can tell he truly enjoys his craft. read more

I called for an appointment and was scheduled one week out. I arrived at 5pm, my appointment time. Finally st 5:44 pm the stylist Tanisha came to take me to the sink. Before she could start washing my hair someone came and got her. She left and returned about 7 minutes later and washed my hair. She did my hair and set me under the dryer. After 50 minutes I got out from under the dryer. She expressed that she wants me to come when I have more time because she likes her clients to sit under dryer for hour to hour in a half....smdh read more

I drove almost two hours to get feed-in braids with "Mo," only to be disregarded and disrespected. "Mo" decided to triple book her clients. She started a woman's hair who came in after me. She was completely disorganized as far as who texted her/what styles she was doing..and I've had my share of experiences w/ black salons but never experienced service like this in my life. I said I would give her some time and go eat because I didn't want to argue, I just needed my hair done. When I came back at the time she suggested, she had already purposely started the woman's daughter's hair, who had no appt. (mid way through doing the woman's hair) so she could do them both and once..with no regard for my time. When I respectfully asked her a "realistic" time for me to start my hair, she rudely and loudly said " i don't know?? you can go home and come back" with knowledge of how far I had driven. Rachel is INCREDIBLY talented! She is sweet, kind and will do her best to achieve the style of your dreams. I never had a weave before and this is a partial with two bundles. It looks EXACTLY like my natural hair. The installation is seamless/invisible; PERFECT. My friend curled my hair and couldn't see where my weave started. I purchased the 18" and 20" Celebuton hair. If I could post a review with no stars I would!! This was the worst salon experience I've had! Crystal was my stylist. Never Again! I wanted a full sew-in bc I'm natural and I workout. So with 2 bundles of hair and the price of the install my total should've been only $400+ which is what I'm used to. Well when Crystal finally showed up, she looked at me like I was foreign regarding the full sewin. She said it looked 'wiggy' and a closure would be better. She also thought it was a good idea to leave my edges out when I said I didn't want any out! So after the closure, closure install, 2 bundles of hair, and the general install I paid a total of $800. Yes I got got ladies!! Did I mention she moved me out the chair to fit her regulars in even though I had an appt so I was there from 9am to 2pm!! My salon experience wasn't even deserving of one star. I came here to get style that a stylist posted on their IG page as a service they provided and were skilled with doing. I asked multiple questions prior to my appointment. Hair was included and the total cost was $300. I paid my $100 deposit. I spent 10 hours getting this passion twist style installed which initially was supposed to take 2-4 hours. It took 3-4 people to do my hair. The stylist left in the middle of my installation repeatedly and requested that I pay her the remaining $200 because she need to leave real quick. 4 of my twists came out less than 24 hours later. I went back to the salon hoping for a resolution but instead the stylist told me that I was undeserving of a refund for the poor quality style because we both wasted our time the day I got my hair done. read more

salon owner Rachel is very rude and unprofessional! very uncomfortable in the atmosphere. NOT KID FRIENDLY AT ALL! I walked in with my kids to get them serviced and Rachel looked at me in disgust and told me they couldnt be there when my stylist let her know they were there to get serviced she said my BABY couldnt be there! my 9 month old baby who I do not trust with a sitter yet. I do not recommend this place to anyone! Another time I was there getting my weave taken out and I had more dandruff than usual coming out my hair . Here's an update of my complaint with Salon Rache. I filed a BB complaint to document the events surrounding my appointment. Per the Complaint Analyst with the BBB, the salon has acknowledged receipt of the complaint but have NOT responded. Despite the response time being extended so they could respond and numerous attempts made to speak with the owner, Rachel and stylist, Krissy. As a result, the BBB closed my case but gave the company an "F" rating. I have not received a refund of any kind nor able to actually use the credit Krissy provided to me, thus I lost $362.00. I filed another BBB complaint, as I obtained additional contact information and the same thing occurred, no response, case closed. Thereafter I proceeded to file with the MD State's Attorney, who could not reach the company for comment/response, either. As a result, they recommended I file a lawsuit to recoop the funds I lost. It's not that the stylists can't do good hair, I've actually seen some notable styles come from that salon and Krissy in particular. However, it's the sense of entitlement, if you're my girl or I've known you for a while, I'll give you better service than a newcomer. This can be true for the people posting that have been going for years and years on end. You've earned that right to be treated above and beyond exceptional. However, a new client like myself will not be afforded the same service. At the very least Krissy should've apologized and attempted rectifying the situation, not blame Ms. Betty. In addition, she should inform newcomers, she arrives late and Al, will provide pre-styling services until such time. In addition, she works in accordance to your scheduled appointment so if there's someone getting their weave styled and you're just there for a wash,wrap, and style you will be after that style, which would take an hour and 20 minutes. There should be some sort of notification that informs us though your appointment is at 5:30, I won't start until 7PM. If you don't wait a lengthy time for service, it's because again you're a familiar face and you schedule at nonpeak times. On a Fridat at 3PM, there's already 5-6 people waiting to be serviced, hair uncombed or wrapped. You hear the mumbles of ppl complaining about the wait but no one dare speaks up. read more

So I went back a few times & yes I still waited past my appointment time to be seen. Luckily Krissy is 1 of the best stylist I have ever let touch my hair. These negative reviews are believable! Rachel can not do hair IMO and the wait from everyone in there is LONGGGGG! Krissy did my hair before and it was nice, but homegirl did not show up to the salon until like 3 hours late, my hair was washed and I had to stay because I had an event to go to otherwise I would have left! Worst customer service I have ever experienced . Decided to return after 1st visit where I received Seed-in Braids and wanted them to be done over with ombr'e hair. The same girl who did my hair before had a VERY BAD attitude and when she started to put in the braids the hair was cheap and did not look good at all! After doing only 1 braid she got mad and walked away. I was shocked at her actions and he total lack of customer service . Especially for $90 6 seed-in braids. She then asked me to wait while she took another customer. I did not understand when I had an appointment, and why she needed me to wait longer while she takes someone else! She took over 2 hours then still had a attitude with me . She did corn-rolls instead of seed-in braids . The part was crocked and she acted like she did not see! Also braided my hair very tight ON PURPOSE . Spoke with the manager whom seemed nice did not offer me a redemption and lacked Managerial skills. She gave me her personal #,Saying she will do my hair personally if I came back. I was confused why she did that. When I told her clearly I only came for the braids and she did not do braids . Also traveling over 1 hour and had a stylist.In a pompous voice She told me " She never takes ANY new clients ,but is WILLING to do my hair". At that point I was DONE! Just paid didn't argue and got out of there! While speaking with the manger in the back of the salon the stylist came back 3 times rudely interrupting us and even bumped into the manger almost knocking her over. I had to take the braids out the VERY next day! The stylist LIED and said the hair was non- synthetic because I am allergic to braiding mythic hair. She did my hair 2 weeks before in the same style with non-synthetic hair. Had to wash my hair and take out the braids 1 day on my 1 cruise. Called the manger L/M and she never returned my call. To be honest, First impression about this salon is that it's nice and this will be my go to salon.But as I was waiting on my stylist to get done with her other client, I noticed that if a comb dropped on the floor they would just pick it back up and continue using it on the client's hair,does Salon Rache even know what barbecide is? Not to mention they rip you off on their hair, in my opinion the price they charge you for the hair is way too high! Especially when the hair sheds after a week and looks worse than synthetic hair! I've had beauty supply hair better than this "celebuton hair"I would love to keep coming here, but I would like to see more cleanliness and lowering of your prices in general. You guys up the price on the hair for no reason,it's not even good hair. I'll be looking for a better salon :)! My stylist was not pleasant at all. I felt like I was on an assembly line and she was just going through the motions. My braids were too tight. The weave was sloppy. Honestly it was not worth my $50. This was my last weave. I got it taken out 2 weeks later. I now wear lace front wigs. I've been doing it for 4 months now and I have saved significantly on my hair costs. This wig has lasted 4 months and I think it can go another couple of months. Ladies, do yourself a favor and stop damaging your hair. I gave this Salon 3 stars because my hair came out good but I would like for the customer service to be better. I do believe they can do better at that. They appear to be nice people (Rachel, her in-salon assistant and the receptionist). I will first start out by saying the stylist and her assistant were nice. They both greeted me upon arrival. Her assistant did a good job of delicately washing my hair, braiding and sewing on the netting. When they ordered food they included me. My first encounter with the "not so good" customer service occured when I contacted them via email and was in discussion with her out of town assistant. Overall, she was helpful but took a while to respond on a few occassions to the point that I had made a hair appointment in my hometown of Chicago as a back up. I liked Rachels work (or what I saw online) and I wanted to try someone semi-close to my home. So I let that go because Rachel responded politely to me and her assistant got back on her game (sort of). The salon receptionist made up for whatever the online assistant lacked and I was appreciate of that. I was contacted by the salon receptionist the day of the appt and she made sure that majority of my outstanding questions (mainly about the hair being available) were answered. I live in VA but work in Silver Spring MD. I left work early to drive 45 min to 1 hr, in light traffic, to Baltimore. I got there on time because the stylist I go to in DC (Johnny Wright) and others in Chicago are a stickler about clients being on time because they have good time mgmt. I got there at 6pm because my appointment was at 6pm. I was greeted, introduced myself to the stylist and sat down. However, I was taken back to get my hair washed until 7pm. I asked the assistant at that time how many people were ahead of me....you know being that I live in Va and made a 6pm appt. She said 2 people though I saw 4. I thought ok maybe the others are family and she will do them after me being that I am new client from VA. One of the people was the stylists daughter, as she said, so that kind of confirmed my theory. She washed my hair, braided it and put the net on. During that time, the stylist was finishing the third head. I just chilled and checked emails on my phone. The assistant sat down to eat (since we ordered food). I assume because she didnt thread the needles for the stylist that is why she decided to finish up her daughters hair (it turned out super cute). As it turned out I was quadruple booked and I didnt leave the salon til a few mins to 1am. I paid a deposit and paid the rest when I was finished. When using a credit card you are charged a fee, which would have been nice to know. Though I estimated the cost to be around the amount that I spent, I just would have liked to be informed ahead of time. Other salons tell you that you are charged a fee, its not an issue its just the principle behind it. The fees totaled about $20.00. I had to drive back to VA. Luckily there werent many cars on the road (go figure) so I got home at 2am just to turn around and get up at 6am for work. I also needed to finish packing for my trip. My time was all thrown off because of this. I think that she does a good job, the quality of hair is good and she is a nice person. I would just like to see better service. Now, I saw my sister hair and was so so embarrassed for her. Kimberly Jackson weave job was very hood and was not done correctly from SALON RACHE. I'm very surprised that they are still in business. The picture was taking by me. My sister Kim had no idea that the tracks would show since they claim to be experts. The tracks was showing in the back, with a very large hole at the top looking like she had open hair/head surgery, yes that's the read. My sister is tall but I'm taller than her. When we went to the mall we were on the escalator and Kim was in front I noticed it and pulled out my camera to show her "iPhone". The entire color of the weave was nice but the hair selected, cut, and the style was totally off. Salon Rache "owner" was supposed to blond my sister entire head "one color" but instead she had black tracks to try to contour the top. When you see the picture attached you know that's a NO NO and if I was a commissioner license would be revoked. If I had a wife she better not ever come home looking like this....My sister paid them over $700.....How can this be justified? The owner stated to me over the phone that she will refund the money back, never did because she doesn't want any bad reviews. So she had her friends to get on here "YELP" to give great reviews. This was my sisters first time going here, we have no need or reason to lie "lawsuits" we are working professionals. We just want people to be blessed in 2013. Not Robbed....... Women... that's why men cheat, we look for natural born Divas... we don't want a Women that have a tacky weave job so can you put yourself in a man shoe for once? There are very few things on Earth that make my skin crawl. At or near the top of that list, are women with bad wigs and/or weaves. I hate to do it, but I must speak on this topic, since folks have asked me to clarify my stance on the matter. It all boils down to one simple sentence: If it appears to be quite artificial, then just say no! I'm not talking about looking a little bit fake. I'm talking about weaves that sit up on top or real hair. Weaves where you can see the glue and other stuff used to keep it in place. Weaves that have the visible lace front that resembles the beginning of some pantyhose. Those are the worst ones in my opinion because it makes me think that after I finish dancing with this woman, she's gonna pull a nylon stocking down from the front of her hair and rob me at gunpoint.
