This salon is fantastic! Leith was able to squeeze me into her schedule today, which was amazing because I needed a haircut BAD-- I had an appointment earlier today at another salon nearby and I left after fifty (50!) minutes of waiting for the stylist... Okay, so back to my darling Rue 52... Leith is just amazing, both technically and personally. The haircut was fantastic: she explained her process, then she dry cut me, shampooed me, cut some more, blew out my hair, and then stood me up to dry cut me again- very meticulous, lucky for me! She also styled my hair really cute by putting in some waves with a styling wand, which I am fairly certain was built into the cost of the cut. (Next time I book with her, I'll make sure that I have fun plans afterwards instead of running errands!) I also need to add that she gave me the BEST shampoo of my life, complete with a long head massage that alleviated a nagging headache that I had due to a small cold- no joke! I especially enjoyed my cut because she was fun, but also laid back. I will certainly return to Rue 52 for the amazing service as well as the welcoming, fun atmosphere. read more

Frustrated as can be...Leith knows hair and cuts it well but as others here have stated, she is not dependable. I had a 1:00 appointment this afternoon for a haircut and she just cancelled on me - three hours before my appointment - because she is "...too sore to work..." You don't treat customers with such disrespect and expect them to return. Her lack of professionalism completely negates her talent: I am now on the hunt for a new stylist. read more

I was quite conflicted about whether or not to write this review. I'm going to begin with the good. I've been going to Leith for a couple of years now and she does great work. Every cut and color I've gotten was great and I've actually recommended her to a number of people. However, I recently had a customer service experience with her so disappointing that I feel compelled to share. I had a cut and color scheduled for just before leaving for vacation and a friend's wedding. The evening before my appointment, I got a text from Leith that she needed to reschedule the appointment as she had the flu. Bummer, but I totally get it! The day of the appointment however, she was posting pictures from a pool party. I texted that I was glad she was feeling better and asked her to work me in before I leave, the only option she offered would have required skipping an afternoon of meetings at work. I'm left scrambling. Everyone needs and deserves a spontaneous day off occasionally. But lying about it and then not working with your customers after being called out is not okay. So unfortunately I now have to look for a new stylist. read more

Leith is amazing! Hands down did the best job on my hair of anyone on many years. I have dry curly hair that really gets damaged with highlights. First trim since I got married. . . oh, y'know, *seven months* ago. Yeah. My split ends were beyond ragged. Week after week intending to make an appointment, I finally decided it had to happen TODAY, and started dialing all the salons with good ratings on Yelp. Qelsey picked up right away, scheduled me for that afternoon, and then turned out to be a magician with my hair. I can't remember the last time it looked this healthy. I was swinging my blown out locks for hours, driving home other drivers gave me weird looks at red lights when they saw me obsessively running my fingers through my hair. I couldn't help it, it was just so silky. Best $69 I spent this year. read more

Leith came highly recommended and I see why, she gave me one of the best haircuts I have had. She also didn't make fun of me for my wild eyebrows which desperately needed waxed. She is fun and laid back and I felt immediately comfortable with her. She styled my hair and then couldn't believe that I had never curled it with a flat iron and so completely restyled it so that I would see how it looked curly. Like most women, I have had the same hair stylist for years - and switching was something I never wanted to consider. But now that I'm in Indianapolis, and my previous girl is 3000 miles away, I had to find a new salon - and did I ever! This is my hair's new home! Qelsey is so kind, smart, and talented. She was happy to use my existing formula, and the cut was exactly what I wanted. Everything about the experience was incredible, and I have not stopped talking about how great Qelsey is since. I just went into Salon Rue for a 1:00 appointment. The stylist there informed me that my stylist was sick today and couldn't see me. I had never received a call or any notification. The stylist who was there didn't seem to care one bit and I was not offered a new appointment or any discount. I should have listened to my good friend who stopped going there recently, claiming the place was overpriced and overrated. Indy has a ton of salons. Choose somewhere else, lest you also get screwed. read more

Wow! Qelsey did an absolute FANTASTIC job on my hair! I can't remember the last time I was this happy with it. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone, they will take care of you. They listen to your wants and take their time. However, I will say, that you get what you pay for here; be prepared to spend some money! I got a haircut, and a demi permanent (ammonia is extremely hard on my hair) and my total was $185, came to $222 with a 20% gratuity!!! The length of my hair was pretty long, but I still had a mini heart attack when she told me my total. Overall though, I am extremely happy with the experience and will return. read more

I've gotten a cut and style from Leith twice now and I'M OBSESSED. Not only is it extremely close to where I live, but both Leith and Qelsey make you feel like they've known you for years. The salon itself is not only fun but relaxed, you don't ever feel out of place. Leith has an awesome artistic talent when looking at hair, I completely trust whatever she does to it. I come in with ideas and she takes those into account and puts her talent to work. I am extremely picky with who cuts my hair (I've had some bad experiences before) so having complete trust in someone doing mine says something! If you're anything like me, nervous about giving someone power over cutting your hair, you've got nothing to worry about here. Salon Rue 52 is THE place to go! read more
