SISU: it's a noun and it's a word in Finnish that translates to: Tenacity, Grit, Stoic , Determination and a few more words. But to me it means someone's got a big set of balls. I don't know about you-but that'll be my first question on my first visit. Who owns the biggest set of balls? And of course if they're taking new clients etc: C'mon! Chop Chop! Pick up that phone and make that appointment to know the answers to those two questions. LOL! Hey my priorities eschewed mission aside aren't you one bit curious? I think most of us need that connection with a hairdresser and the utmost trust that she can translate our vision. Because sometimes there aren't enough words to really tell someone that when my hair is a mess it could really mean I am a mess till I get my hair issue fixed. My hair stylist here is Valry. I met her way before she moved into this gorgeous salon. She's my person. She understands me. I was an orphan before I met her. I told her that. My girl before her moved back to Kentucky and I was lost. Bouncing from one stylist to another. Until Val. So this new location where Valry moved to is owned by a husband and wife team. Lucinda and Sam. Lucinda has over 25 years experience in the industry and my stylist over 10 years. Over 35 years put together is quite amazing. I love the vibrant colors inside this salon. The open air design. The Color Bar. It looks just like bar except it's for hair color and such. The floor to ceiling mirrors to the left and right past the check in counter on the left is fantastic! I want one in my house! They only use the best products. Location wise it's prob the best in Denver! It's next to Launch Colorado and if you've been there then you know that this is such a scenic location. Very representative of CO and it's abundance of beautiful surroundings. This location is not far from the Red Rocks official hotel and across from the Hogback parking lot and next to the Kum and Go gas station. Drive a few minutes and kick back while they do your hair in peace. Lots of parking and the food and coffee next door is great! read more

I love it here. I've had several stylist and they all have been wonderful and easy to talk to. Yesterday I got my hair highlighted by Rhiannon and she did a great job. I'm so happy with my hair. She really took the time to listen to what I wanted and did it exactly the way I had described even though it probably made things more tedious (I have very thick hair!). If I could put ZERO stars I would. I called to reschedule an appointment. I called 24 hours before the appointment and they reported it's a 38 hour reschedule policy. I needed to change my appointment because my work schedule changed. I explained this is detail and they still decided to charge me over half of the cost of the appointment cost. Bad practice. Also, I tried to get them to let me speak with the stylist directly so I could make arrangements with her and she wasn't even in the salon! They acted like I wasted her time! *EDIT* Lucinda, the salon owner graciously took my comments/suggestions into account and I believe she has the best intentions for addressing some of those issues. I have also had a great haircut here with Nicolette. *Wedding Services* Overall I was disappointed with the service I received before and on my wedding day and would not recommend this establishment for large groups due to issues with communication and organization. *Bridal Consultation* I was told a bridal consultation included hair and make-up and was $100 but came to find at the end of my time that my appointment was only for hair. This was not well communicated by the staff. *Wedding Day* The stress and tension in the room about servicing our large group was palpable. I provided a detailed outline of who would be arriving when and asked that we be charged individually but after my bridesmaid spent a significant amount of time with the front desk person trying to help sort out the billing she finally ended up just paying for everyone so we could sort it out later. However, even that was a challenge as they forgot to account for the large deposit I had already paid. I had to go back another day to get it sorted. *Hair and make-up* Josephine who was very skilled and did a great job with my hair and make-up. I would recommend asking for her if you opt to use Salon SISU. read more

I have been a customer for as long as they have been open and never had a complaint. However, something has changed and the quality is no where near what it has been. The second to last time was with Lucinda and she didnt even ask what I wanted and started cutting (I did abruptly tell her I wanted layers before she got too into cutting) and then she said, "oh that's good to know". Consulting should be the first thing done. After that awful expirience I changed hair dressers and this time it was beautiful and exactly how I wanted it but then I realized I still had a huge amount of DEAD ENDS! My whole family and extended family goes here and we all decided to leave after the most recent experiences. read more

She was my hairdresser for 13 years in Michigan and now that we both live in Colorado, I could not be more delighted! She will be a permanent fixture in June 2022! I have been going to this salon since it opened. I bring my children here to get their haircuts. I just got chastised by "Sam " for trying to reschedule an appointment well in advanced ( more than the standard 24 hours ). It sucks because the stylists were why I went there. He tried to walk it back after I called him out but the damage is already done. I won't go back. Sam needs to take a class on customer service. read more

So I actually followed my stylist from the old uinion salon to Sisu. She has been doing my hair as well as my son's hair. I've never missed an appointment or even been late. I called a few weeks ago because I was sick. I work late shifts and didn't realize how sick I was till the morning of my appointment. Considering how weird people are with germs these days I thought I was being courteous. The receptionist said that she would cancel my appointment but would call me right back to let me know if they we're going to charge me. She returned my call almost 2 hours later, at my appointment time to tell me I was going be charged for half the cost of my cut and color appointment. I told her at the initial call that I would just come in sick if I was going to be charged and she said she already cancelled my appointment. So I told them to screw off and have a nice day. Then I got a text and email to pay the invoice. They didn't even give me a warning considering I've never missed an appointment and have been a long time client. I will not be going back and they need to learn how to do business. read more
