After booking a same-day appointment at another salon, we were disappointed when they called--just as we were sitting in the parking lot--to say their online system was wrong and they had no openings. Scrambling for another option to treat my visiting mom, I found Salon Surreal. They got us in right away--just 20 minutes after the original appointment--and welcomed us with water and beverages while we waited. AVOID AVOID AVOID.... WORST haircut I have EVER gotten, I would have been better go to Supercuts or Ulta. Saw Kyna, who is "supposed" to be a level 4- psh YEA RIGHT!!! She should be a hairdresser in training at best!! My hair has never been so un-even and choppy. I literally just wanted a straight across cut in the back and layers in the front with side bangs. She doesn't know how to do layers in the front, side bangs OR cut the back evenly. She "texturized the bottom" too which made it horrible and frizzy/split end look- i did NOT ask for this or want it. So unhappy!!!! I didn't call the salon because I didn't want it to get cut even shorter. I went to another salon to get a consult on my color and the girl told me I needed a haircut- 2 days after this HORRIBLE haircut!!! $70 for a hack job- TERRIBLE!!!! I do not recommend Kyna or the salon in general they clearly do not hold their stylist to any kind of accountability or skill level! AVOID! Just waiting for it to grow back out so I can get a good cut! Worst salon EVER! read more

Would NOT recommend especially if you're blonde. I left with sopping wet hair because apparently you have to pay another $52 to have it blown out. Once it dried my roots were a yellow/orange. Sadly I did this on a weekend so I had to wait until Monday when they reopened to call and see if they could fix it. The receptionist didn't seem too concerned and said I could only see the hair stylist that messed it up to begin with if I didn't want to pay again. So I said ok and can come in at any time today. Well the hair stylist was off Monday of course so she said I could wait until Tuesday afternoon. Needless to say I will not be returning. Nicole did a great job with my hair and has a wonderful,sweet personality. She also gave my long hair some long layers too which look fabulous. I found this salaon based upon the Kerestase website. The owner assured me they were top notch. I had 3 visits, NONE gave me what I wanted or asked to be corrected. Owner hyped up Shyanne as being the greatest she had....she is FAR from it, and when I pointed out she gave me ORA GE SPOTS instead of blonde highlights, she didn't fix it but made it worse, and when I called demanding she fix it, I was met with rudness and told by Shyanne, this is all I have time for, and sent me out the door! Today I went to salon surreal and met my stylist Katie. I am so beyond glad that I did!! This place and it's staff are friggen ahhhhmazing!! Katie took my very 90's chunky highlights and gave me a beautifully blended highlight and lowlight. I'm in love!! With my hair and I'm super Mclovin Katie too! This girl knows her stuff! She is an awesome conversationalist and worked her butt off making my hair look fabulous while keeping me laughing the whole time. I scheduled bayolage w/ Courtney. I brought multiple pics of what I wanted as inspiration. I felt she rushed through the consultation & then jumped right in to trying to sell me products. I asked for my top to be darker with a Carmel bayo melted through the bottom. I explained I did not want my haircut. My exact words" I will cry if you cut my hair" I spent 4 years growing it out, not using heat on it and only doing root touch ups. So my hair was long and healthy. She said ok but she was going to do a tiny trim as the bleach would melt my ends???? ( I should have ran out but she was already applying bleach) She only applied the bleach & said I didn't need the top darker even though I wanted it darker for contrast. See pics below: she gave me stripes that were orangeish on the top...The bottom half is a much lighter blonde. Top and bottom didn't melt/blend or even match each other. Not at all bayolage. Put me in foils under the dryer. And then cut/ or melted (her words) about 2 inches off of my ends... despite me telling her NO HAIRCUT! Talked to salon manager very next morning whom I sent pics to.... She agreed I didn't get my desired result & wanted me to come back so Courtney can fix it as Courtney is best at bayolage & that's their policy. Obviously I don't want Courtney or the 2nd best at bayolage touching my hair so I asked for a refund to get it fixed elsewhere.... She refused. I had to pay to get the color fixed elsewhere but there's nothing I can do about my length. Lesson learned. read more

This salon has a no refund policy, now I understand why, it's quite clear that the owner, Kristen Hansen has very low confidence for her substandard stylists so this is the only way she's going to guarantee that she gets paid! After I showed the stylist, Chloe, 3 pictures of what I wanted, she did her own thing! She blamed it on the toner and asked me to come back after a couple of washes. I went back to give her the opportunity to correct the problem, but instead she ruined it even worse the second time! This time she told me to use purple shampoo to correct the issue! I was limited for time because of my daughter's Wedding, so I had to go elsewhere to find someone more competent. Chloe was 100% aware that I was devastated by the outcome! She tried to fix it the 2nd time while I was at the salon, but told me that purple shampoo would fix it! Ummm no! The chunk of bright blonde and orange were too bright and thick! Where is the integrity? They charged me almost $300.00 to ruin my hair, and they have zero accountability! Kristen Hansen, your employee was given a second chance to correct the mistake, when given the opportunity, she again tried to fix the issue while I was at the salon! So actually, she was given 3 chances to correct it and she ruined it worse! Get the facts straight ! I'm going to the Better Business Bureau ! read more

This salon is super cheap because they stole a $105 deposit from me. I'm actually laughing about it because it's only $105. I know times are rough but come on. It's stealing. I normally get my hair done in Southampton New York and this would never happen there. So weird! What type of professional salon would steal $105 unless they are "desperate". Hopefully my donation helped with something positive like new hair supplies for the salon since their products from other photos look cheap. They were completely open fully all of Saturday which would have been the day of my hair appointment which was a red flag now that I think about it. I booked an appointment in person on Friday afternoon, less than 24 hours before my scheduled appointment for Saturday at 9am. I paid $105 in advance of the hair appointment. They were completely open the next day so they booked me at 9am. 2 hours after I booked the appointment and paid the deposit, I received a phone call and voicemail from a random woman who said she is the owner. She proceeded to tell me I would have to sign an agreement stating I'm an influencer (I'm not an influencer) with random guidelines. I never heard about this agreement upon booking and paying in advance and I didn't have time or energy to read any agreement. I only wanted to just get my hair done and that's all... without having to think about an agreement with a company I have never heard of before. I asked for my money back as I didn't feel comfortable signing any type of agreement with this company. It was soooo weird! Who would book an appointment with someone and then call them later to state that the person has to sign a mandatory agreement that was never shown to them upon booking?Anyway, they never refunded me so I wanted to warn you not to give them any money in advance. Also I was going to have my hair done a very specific shade but thank god I didn't because I read another review which showed an image of a really ugly cheap color. read more

Katie did a PHENOMENAL color correction and saved me from the shame and embarrassment of a horrid highlight & tone job I had done on myself (why I thought I could do it myself, I'll never know). She truly has talent and is an absolute wizard with color - she took time and care to correct the mess I made I'm so happy with the result I could cry tears of joy. I've posted photos of before and after. When I came home my hubby said "you can't even tell what you had done to it before. It's like you went with your natural hair and got professional highlights." She gave me a beautiful trim as well, exactly what I asked for. I've always had good experiences at Salon Surreal so when I got myself in this predicament, I knew who to call. I went to Nikki for a Bayalage. The end result was not good at all. She gave me highlights that were thick unblended stripes starting from my root (which by definition bayalage starts lower and is blended). I mentioned my concern at the end and she did not validate my concern and was wanting to charge me even more to fix by root shadowing another time. To charge me to fix what she did incorrectly. I was still charged $238 for a bayalage that wasn't even a bayalage. I called the owner and I was able to see someone else to add toner at my roots so it didn't look like bad highlights. But at the end of the day I still paid for a bayalage and my hair looks almost the same now with the top layer brown. I also got a haircut and asked for layers in the back but it was not well blended and that was also fixed at the second appointment. The owner was cooperative when I called, but I wish they would have given me a refund or at least a discount for paying for an expensive service that was not delivered. I never leave reviews, but I felt it was important to share my experience. I would definitely feel better if they offered to give money back. read more

She seemed very rushed and even though I showed her a picture of what I wanted, my hair ended up looking nothing like that. Ladies~Dont feel compelled to tip if you know you are not happy with the outcome. There is no law that states you have to tip these people. This lady named Nikki is great. She took my mangled mess and smoothed out my edges. I received a color and trim and hot tools method total was 140. Happiness for couple weeks. :) Owner Suzy was on location and was very pleasant. Their music sections was perfect and even isolated well from shampoo (smooth music) bowl to salon (upbeat fun) chair music. :) The salon had a pretty chandelier light hanging as you check in. Very well separated space allowed me to enjoy my experience, if you can't tell. Products displayed perfectly, w/ everything in stock available. Easily located in the Walgreens parking lot. I am that salon customer that can be a real pain in the butt. I've been blonding my hair to one extent or the other for many many years, and I have been spoiled by some pretty amazing stylists along the way. My hair expectations aren't outrageous but I do want to trust who's taking scissors and foils to my mop top. If I have a bad experience, I stay out of the salon for years, for fear of repeating bad hair again and again. I was in need of some serious chopping of my too long, wavy hair and didn't want to invest in the time to fly to LA this weekend for my stylist there so... I found Nikki at Salon Surreal. Wow, so happy I did. From the point of confirming the appointment, to calling the salons reception desk letting them know I was going to be running a few minutes late and the young man was such a doll, to Nikki sweetly and graciously introducing herself and being a wonderful conversationalist during the styling and the cutting of my hair, to expertly knowing exactly what I wanted and how to achieve that look was so REFRESHING. Nikki is incredibly talented and I was so happy when I left her chair with my new haircut, that I immediately booked my highlights for the following week.
