This salon is small, with two main stylists (Sarah and Ashley). With a finite amount of chairs, the space feels intimate and relaxing. Going to my appointments feels like a visit to my cool cousin. All the decor is simple, but effective, with beautiful murals in pinky sand tones, comfortable seating, and lots of plants. It really does feel like an oasis. Getting there is incredibly easy as it's centrally located and there is parking in front of the door. Sarah and Ashley are friendly, creative, and approachable. I always just walk in and let them do whatever they think is best to my hair. Because all the products are intentionally selected, natural products, that are sustainable for the earth and my hair, I always leave with healthy, beautiful smelling hair. My color always looks rich and luminous, even through my phases of blonde to dark brown to balayage and back again. I am relaxed and confident in my stylist and know I will leave feeling my best. I can't recommend this salon highly enough. If you like a comfortable, open space with passionate professionals who will make you feel your best, this is the place to go. I have been a client of Sarah's for a long time, but her new salon, Amethyst Hair Collective, is a level up from the quality hair care I expect from her. The space on 3rd street is conveniently located with plenty of easy parking right in front of the door, and close to Ocotillo if you want to show off your hair afterwards. Inside, the salon is tranquil and inviting, bright white walls, muted purple velvet chairs, incredibly comfortable seating, and plants everywhere. As Sarah is currently the only stylist, you get complete attention and I felt like a celebrity. She's curated sustainable products from Italy that smell Devine and made my hair feel like silk. Coming here is like going to your cool sisters house, who also happens to do hair. I was looking for a hair correction stylist and found the best stylist and colorist, Zander! I wanted a cherry cola look, and that's exactly what I got! I also needed a Brazilian blowout and again, he exceeded my expectations! My hair is so glossy and smooth. The total came to nearly $500, which I was prepared to invest for high-quality results and specialized knowledge. As someone with naturally bouncy curls, it's great to find a curl-focused stylist. Unfortunately, my search continues in metro-Phoenix. The results here were super disappointing. My curls were left flat and lacked their usual shape and volume at the top of my crown. At this price point, I expected a higher level of styling expertise and knowledge that enhanced my natural texture rather than diminished it. My stylist even commented, "I don't know why it's so flat on the top." Me either, sis :( I did get much better results when I washed and styled my hair at home. Good experience in the salon, but still disappointed that this is the third hair stylist I have tried (in other salons) and I still don't have the cut I want.
