A little less than a year ago I reached out to Salon True wanting to go from box-dyed black hair to dirty blonde hair (which is incredibly difficult to do after years of box dye). They referred me to Sada, and I honestly could not be more grateful. From the very first appointment, Sada was realistic, patient, and so knowledgeable. She took the time to explain the process, what was achievable, and how we could lighten my hair safely over time. Every appointment since then, she has done an amazing job. My hair has stayed healthy, shiny, and strong throughout the entire process, which I truly didn't think was possible coming from box dye. She listens carefully to what I want and always gives honest advice that I trust completely. I have never left disappointed. On top of being incredibly talented, she's the nicest human and makes every appointment feel relaxed and fun. So I was going to let this go, but I think it's actually necessary to bring awareness. I was scheduled to get my hair done with Eli. Turns out, he told me he would not be doing my hair that day, for various reasons. My issue is not that he refused to provide me the service I was scheduled for, it was the way he spoke to me. He was very loud and condescending, and went on and on about how much experience he had under his belt - 23 years to be exact. He actually mentioned his yrs of experience more times than I could count. My issue is, which that much experience under his belt I would expect for him to also have professionalism attached to all of the experience he claims to have. Instead, when I spoke to him about his treatment towards me that day, his "apology" to me consisted of "I'm sorry you took what I said wrong, but I didn't do that." Mind you, I mentioned my son was getting married, and that's why I was there. I needed to get my hair done for my son's wedding. He completely tossed that aside and showed zero professionalism in the way he behaved. I hope that this would be a valuable lesson for Eli, and the way he speaks to customers. Very rude, and poor attitude, as if it was the clients fault for not knowing hair the way he does. So yes, while the salon was nice, Eli was not. If you wish to go and have a good professional experience, I would NOT schedule with Eli. When I addressed the manner with the manager, she was very much in blind defense of her employee. Completely invalidated me as a customer - NOT how to keep your business open. You've been warned. read more

My wife is currently pregnant and was placed on mandatory bed rest by her doctor (with a note), yet they refused to refund the deposit for a canceled appointment. I've been to Yeva many times and I absolutely love her blow drys. I called her last minute yesterday and she was already done for the day. She suggested for me to call the salon and book with someone else. I got super lucky Edgar was available and did my blow out. I have curly hair so it's really hard for my blow drys to last especially if I'm going to a party. He did an amazing job, he was very nice and professional. The salon was recommended to me and they paired me with Sada since I'm a brunette wanting a softer base and natural balayage. I'm so glad I went! I take back EVRYTHING I said regarding my last hair cut with Abdon. I came in telling him how I was so happy my last haircut with him helped my hair grow out long and thick. My hair was about 2-3 inches below my breasts, and I verbally said I wanted to keep my hair long and add layers, I just needed to get rid of some weight because it was starting to drop curls when I styled it. I even used my fingers to visually show him how much I wanted off and where I wanted my hair to land. I was VERY CLEAR. He got to cutting and proceeded to cut 7 INCHES OF MY HAIR OFF! 7 INCHES! A YEAR'S WORTH OF GROWTH. In no way do I feel like he listened to me at all, CLEARLY. When I called to requested a refund, which I will say I did get but I had to really be firm and push for it, the receptionist who was relaying messages from me to the owner and the manager, said that Abdon told them I said I wanted it around my breast plate. First of all who says breast plate?? Obviously he lied to cover himself because he royally messed up. Not only did he butcher my length but the face framing layers he added were uneven by TWO INCHES. When I finally spoke to the manager she said the owner would like to have me come in to fix it and get a partial refund and he wanted to see what was wrong with the hair cut overall. THE LENGTH AND THE FACT THAT HE TOOK OFF 7 INCHES IS WHATS WRONG WITH THE HAIRCUT...LIKE HELLO??????? They clearly were fighting against the refund but the fact that I received it means they clearly knew they were in the wrong. ZERO accountability and I feel like the owner just wanted me to come in so he could gaslight me. Mind you, I sent photos of my hair to the manager, before and after and the photo of the uneven layers. None of this experience felt like they wanted to actually make it right, they just wanted to save face. I was ready to be a regular and be a long term customer. Can't wait to look for a new salon in another year when I finally have my length back and need a hair cut because I can assure you its going to be a long time until I will need another. My hair was MASSACRED. Let me edit this based on the response I received. My initial reaction to him when he showed me my length was "why is it so short?" To be honest I have never had my hair butchered like this before and I was in shock. It took me sometime to process what happened and how short he took my hair. I am polite and always tip for services so no I did not exactly know what to do since I have literally never had a hairstylist do this to me before. We did have a detailed consultation at the beginning and I was VERY CLEAR...VERRRRYYYYY CLEAR about what I wanted. Maybe...just maybe he didn't do his job and LISTEN to me because if he did, and he thought for some reason I wanted my hair that short, based on everything I said about LOVING MY LONG HAIR, if he thought I wanted it that short, maybe he should confirm the length. I think it's pretty clear based on my reaction I did not get what I wanted and he did not do his job. Further more you didn't issue the refund in good faith. The photos are clear. I was wronged and deserved a refund. read more

I went in to get a toner for my balayage and I left with super dark horrible looking dye job instead of the toner I asked for and it's way darker than what suits my skin tone. I had a very unpleasant experience here in June. I saw Sada and she didn't even introduce herself, just walked over and said okay what are we doing. Then proceeded to try to convince me to go blonde after i said no multiple times and wanted to go darker. As a new client this immediately rubbed me the wrong way. Aren't you here to make me happy, not impose what you wish you could do to my hair on me? Made multiple comments about it throughout our appointment. She did eventually do the color I wanted but didn't clean it off my hairline / skin at all so when i got home i had dark brown dye stains along my forehead, around my ears / side burns & neck. also i asked for my bangs to be long enough to tuck behind my ears and she cut them very short i couldn't tuck them back for 2 months. layers were extremely choppy and uneven. as a level 5 im shocked with how bad this service was. go to anyone or anywhere else read more

I was lucky to get my first Rick Henry haircut as a birthday treat at the end of January 2020 and I loved everything about it! The pandemic put a long pause in my return. When I was finally able to return, Rick welcomed me with his signature genuine smile that both lights up the room & makes you feel like you are his only client of the day (...even though his dance card is fully punched for the day, and he literally just returned from / or is about to jet-set around the world with some of the biggest superstar clients, person of the year & athletes) Rick is THE pro, and remains super authentic, chill & down to earth.. we can talk about our pets during the whole cut appointment (bonus...he's a huge animal-lover), and I leave with the best haircut each time! Rick listens keenly, advises without upselling, AND he doesn't cut shorter than requested (like many others do). His long layers slay as much as his pixie cuts. Due to a neck injury, I am unable to blow dry my hair or barely wash it right now, and I know salon true, has a great reputation and quality, so they were very kind enough to fit me in for a blow dry with Tara. It's amazing how a special person can make something like a blow dry make you feel like a worthy wonderful person for an afternoon. Not only is she very skilled, and she is, not everybody can execute a really high-level blow dry, but I asked for my roots to be a bit high, but basically a flat iron type look and she did it with just a blow dryer and she did it perfectly. She is also one of those rare humans that you come across who has a light about them and truly wants to make you feel good.. I look forward to returning to salon through for more treatments and other things from Tara !
