I took my car in and it was fixed same day, at slightly under what the original estimate. The mechanics in the garage were very nice and Sal himself rang me up at the register. Most of all this auto repair business did no up-selling, which as many of you know is a sort of blood sport among auto repair shops (Romanos being the worst offender), which was truly refreshing. Sloppy workmanship. Had several issues with my older car, had to return couple times after problems not fixed. I'm on a state-to-state road trip down from NJ which started 12 days ago. Got to South FL and suddenly had a terrible screeching coming from the rear of my car. I found Sal's on Yelp and called ahead to see if they had time to check out my car, and they did. When I got in, CJ was very welcoming and had Kevin take a look immediately. Within 5 minutes, there was a diagnosis and the quote was more than fair. Upon further inspection as the work was being done, it turned out I had another problem that couldn't be seen, initially, and was only found because they went an extra step further to ensure my car's safety and the life of the repair they were doing for me. CJ took the time to show me the worn down parts and the adjusted rate for the additional repairs was also more than fair. I waited in the coziest, air-conditioned lounge decorated with antique cars, trains, art and furniture pieces. Once the repairs were finished, Kevin did a double check by taking my car out for a short drive and made adjustments to ensure that all was well before I drove off. These guys are thorough and really care that everything is done just right. After all was said and done, I was out in about 2.5 hours with a safer car, and a feeling that I got much more than I paid for. Super fantastic service! My BMW 135i car battery (less than 2yrs old) was dead, AAA said probably electrical issue caused battery to drain. Sal's is the only place I bring my cars. They will never over charge you. I have brought my car there asking for service that I thought was needed, and they have told me that after checking the car that service was not needed. What shop does that? One that's been in business for like 40 years! They don't even need to advertise. It's all word of mouth. The shop is decorated with antiques, and they even have live turkeys there in the fall. Horrible Experience - Car Repairs and Rude Staff!!! Please before servicing your car here, Rethink. There are so many other places. This place should remain a towing company and that is it! Not an Auto Repair!! Everything they so call serviced had an issue later and then when you call to explain the front desk guy named CJ, will talk down to you and go into detail about how you know nothing about cars. He likes to throw fits when you address problems that they caused.They broke my oil pan on a regular oil change and tried to act like they did not. Left me with oil pouring out of my car. When there done with your complaints about how they didnt fix something right they start arguments and will part ways and leave you scrambling to go get their incomplete and half assed work done by someone else. This place is great! The AC in my late model Dodge was not working and I called them based on reading their reviews. CJ answered-professionalism, expertise and kindness all in one! I asked if they could squeeze me in to check and hopefully fix the AC. CJ and staff were all professional and friendly and were able to get me in right away.
