This sandwich was an absolute hit! After a long day at Universal/Islands of Adventure, my friend and I decided we wanted to get dinner at our hotel and eat in our room. Based on the menu, we chose Sal's Market Deli. Once we got back to the hotel, we headed to Sal's and ordered at the counter to-go. I chose Sal's Italian Classic. This sandwich was made with salami, capicola, aged provolone, tomato, lettuce, and red wine vinaigrette (I said no olives and pepperoncini). It also came with homemade chips. After taxes it was pricey at around $20, but it was a ton of food and easily shareable. The reviews don't hype this place up enough. This sandwich was amazing. The chips were great too! I'm still dreaming about the whole meal. The restaurant is super casual. You order at the counter and can eat there if you like. They had a handful of tables inside and outside. Service was superb too. The gentleman taking my order was kind and I waited less than 10 minutes for my food. The pizza was absolutely amazing. It was such a nice refreshing meal after having almost only fried food all day. The pepperoni pizza was delicious and we even ate it 2 nights in a row it was so good. The workers were so incredibly nice and the place felt nice and calm but warm and cozy all at once. If you're staying at the Loews Portofino Bay Resort consider yourself lucky because they put all the other escorts to pure shame. Sal's food is #1 AMAZING, #2 Economical BUT #3 and most importantly PHENOMENAL. Arugula Prosciutto pizza is a hard yes and that Meat & Cheese Sal'Zone is a no brainer. We ate at Sal's twice during our stay at Portofino Bay. Both times I ordered the portabella mushroom sandwich with a side salad. That balsamic dressing is EVERYTHING! So freaking good. Could eat it every day of my life. The sandwich was also tasty (obviously since I ordered it twice). My husband ordered the calzone and my daughter had the pizza. She liked the pizza- it was thin crust. I thought it was just okay. They have a drink machine that we used a lot to fill up our water bottles. If you are in a rush, I wouldn't suggest eating here because both times it took awhile to get our food. It was worth the wait though and we would definitely go back. read more

Hey everyone, I ate at this place during my stay at Portofino Bay and got the Sal's sandwich and the Parmesan chicken sandwich and was thoroughly disappointed with the food. The Parmesan chicken lacked flavor and the sals sandwich was mediocre at best and didn't impress me (you can really mess up a sandwich tbh). I also want to note that the chips are down right disgusting and were stale when I bit into them, it almost broke my teeth. Overall would not recommend the sandwich's here. read more

Staff was efficient and pleasant. This is a quick serve place, but has plenty of seating inside and out or you can take food to go. Paper plates are available if you need them for your to go order. The casual nature of the place suits our needs perfectly. The food has exceeded expectations and I was pleasantly surprised by the affordable prices...no gouging here! We stopped in here for a late lunch and bought a single primavera pizza to share. We bought the smaller 12 inch and there was plenty for 2 people as a light lunch. The crust was thin with a good chew and loaded with vegetables on top of cheese and sauce. The vegetables were fresh and still had a nice crunch to them and you could taste the flavor of each individual vegetable which was great. This is one of the in-house food venues that has been here since the earliest days of Lowe's Portofino Resort, so you'd think it would have evolved over time. It hasn't. I have been going here for years with my family. It's a fun family night out and it's also great for a cute date night as well! If you park in self-parking at Portofino, Sal's will validate your parking if you spend over $25, which is pretty easy to do. They have several types of pizza and salads as well as grab and go options if you're heading to the parks. We typically get a pizza and salad and that covers our $25 purchase! The last time we went, we got the Farmhouse Pesto Pizza and the antipasto salad! Everything was delicious! It was plenty of food for two people. If you sit outside, one of Portofino's performers comes out around 6 PM and sings popular Italian songs. It makes you feel like you're in the real-life Portofino Bay in Italy!
