Completely disappointed! Sals used to have great food. The past 3 times I went I regret it. Complete wast of money. Even after 2 attempts to tell them to fully cook a pizza they can't do it (see picture). Save your money and get a frozen one from a store. I used to love Sal's and it's just declined soooo much in the last few months to a year. This last time the other night we ordered and used DoorDash because ordering from them their driver already left for the day. Our subs were wrong and had something on them that I'm allergic to. They forgot our dessert we ordered and the door dasher said she asked them several times if it was in the bag but she isn't allowed to open the food and check so she got to the house and had to go back. So I called Sals and asked them to give her the dessert and what they could do since she has to return. Now we had to extra tip her because she wasted gas on their mistake and now we wasted money on their mistake as well. The host said they would offer her food and a dessert and when we got back to my house she said they didn't offer her anything. I am so disappointed in a local shop acting like this in our small town. We spend a lot of money to support small businesses. I told them I couldn't eat my food due to the allergy and their mess up and the girl say they couldn't do anything about that and they close in 45 mins so she has to go. I asked several times to speak to the manager and she said she would speak to them not me. read more

The food is amazing! Everything has so much flavor. Then dinner entrees are just to die for. As well as everything is fairly priced. The wait staff is very friendly and always welcomes me with a warm smile. I've spoken to management a handful of times to let them know how impressed I was with my dinner experience. Normally very good pizza, but the last one I got was just OK, but not great. Looked and tasted like it was thrown together, rather than carefully put together. The toppings were clumped together, rather than evenly spread out. Pepperoni stuck together 3 and 4 thick. Looked like they just took a cup of this and a cup of that and dumped it on the pizza. I'm mixed in this review. I have loved Sal's when they were on Bridge Road in Suffolk. Then they closed. Time passes. Smithfield gets a Sal's! In competition with Anna's. Salads: Sal's wins hands down. Fresh romaine, lotsa different ingredients, excellent house dressing. Unless you ask for it special, Anna's gives you shredded iceberg lettuce. Yawn. Subs: Sal's again. Sal's Special Philly Cheesesteak is absolutely delicious. Only one other local place has one better. The Italian Hoagie is also great! Pasta: Anna's wins hands down. Sal's pasta consists of only one variety - thick - bleah. Anna's offers the same, but also angel hair (which we prefer)! Sal's pasta sauce reminds me of Chef Boyardee. There is absolutely nothing special about it. You can tell Vinny puts love into his pasta sauce. Go, Anna's! Pizza: A draw: Anna's Combination and Pizza Bianca (order WITHOUT OIL) are great. Sal's combo pizza and their Veggie with Bacon are also great. It's just what you prefer. So: Salads, go with Sal's. Subs, go with Sal's. Pasta, go with Anna's. Great food and service! We ordered an 18 inch pizza with extra cheese, pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms on half with 30 hot wings. The food was delivered 15 min earlier than they projected (35 min). The pizza was delicious and they were very generous with the toppings. The wings were cooked perfectly and had a good heat. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the pizza crust could be thinner or cooked a bit longer. We will definitely order again! read more

Subs are amazing! Steak and cheese and meatball. Delicious, loaded, fresh and hot! Been there 4 times now for takeout - subs and pizza. This is now my favorite go to in Smithfield.
