Well, it's absolutely absurd that I've driven past this place as many times as I probably have. But today I fixed that & I'm really happy. First the location: it's in a strip mall, which it shares with Kroger, a thrift store, and one of the last Roses stores around. The inside was very nice and had a real country atmosphere. Everything appeared well-kept and clean. As we entered we were quickly greeted and taken to our table. Within a few moments, we had our two sweet teas, and our order was taken. Let's say wow - our order was delivered to our table in maybe 7-8 minutes. I was in total shock. The meals. The wifey has the Monte Cristo French Toast meal. I could tell she liked it a lot. As I look at her taking her first full bite and her eyes are blasting open. She said it was absolutely outstanding. As for me, I had Biscuits & Gravy with potatoes and bacon. I will also tell you I was very happy with the taste and the portion. As for service: We had a young lady named Stephanie. I bet she checked on us 6-7 times during our stay and we were not her only table. She was just that attentive. Total for two of us - $33 which include includes a hefty state and local tax. 12.25% - Virginia and localities have gotten out of control. So I will give this place a solid 5-star review and hope that if you're passing through - and need a nice breakfast or lunch, go on in. read more

This is a really great restaurant! The service was excellent! I had the gluten-free French toast...delicious! I got the platter so it came with bacon and eggs. My husband had the gluten-free pancakes and he really enjoyed them. He also got their grilled pork chops which he liked. Their coffee is amazing, strong and hot! We shared the pecan Dijon salad. This is undoubtedly a very popular dining site. We arrived at about 10:30 a.m. on a weekday and nearly every table was occupied! We had to wait a couple minutes after arriving for anyone to come to the counter to seat us. The ambience is clean and casual and the dining area is nicely decorated with pictures and statuettes of farm animals and some antique toys. The menu is quite extensive, so a brunch fan is sure to find something to their liking. I appreciated that I could order a large milk and it was a good-sized serving. However, I found the coffee rather weak and bland. (I am astonished that other recent reviewers have described it as "amazing," "strong and hot," and "delicious." It was hot but that is all I can credit it with.) I ordered the Greek omelet with the addition of grilled chicken. For a cost of $2.99, I expected to see something like a single chicken tenderloin or part of a chicken breast served on the side but that is not how it came. While the omelet was well-made with an ample supply of feta cheese and spinach, the chicken was cooked into the omelet and was barely detectable. I got little more than a tablespoon of meat. The side of potatoes were a tasty addition to the plate. My wife thought the sausage links were good but they were small in size and a serving of two links was insufficient to please her. The serving of toast was generous, with four large half slices. The biscuit was clearly made in-house but it was disappointingly dense and bland. I have had better biscuits from Hardees and Bojangles. Real butter would have been better than vegetable oil margarine as an accompaniment. Arrived at exactly noon not by plan but it was a full house. I wasn't expecting anything fast with such a crowd and told our server Faith we were in no rush. Wow! Quite a large menu. This always makes me nervous it usually means the food will be good/ average because having to be prepared for all items on the large menu doesn't allow you to be really good as you could be with a more specialized menu. My friend and I ordered he a club sandwich and fries myself corned beef hash skillet 2 eggs over medium w/ biscuit. I misread the menu reading that it was served with fruit and your choice of toast or biscuit. For $11.99 the fruit should be included the menu hypes the corned beef as "real" not from a can well it was square diced small and had virtually no flavor, the seasoned potatoes were a very generic salt, pepper maybe a hint of onion powder? But lots of oil in fact it was puddled in the bottom of the skillet after it was empty. Fried eggs are often iffy when ordered out if they sit 5 minutes under the warming lamp after being plated they're overcooked. My over medium were hard cooked not even soft yolk. But I guess the worse thing was how small the portion was! Potatoes and 2 eggs w/ maybe 3 ounces of corned beef $11.99 and it wasn't even level with the lip of the shallow skillet! To be fair my friend's club was huge it was falling off a larger plate than my skillet was served on it was stacked high cut into four and fries mounded atop in the middle. Easily more potatoes used in the French fries than in my seasoned potatoes yet the club plate was also $11.99. Sadly as it too often happens with me I was half way done eating before I thought of taking pictures for my review. I give them credit for cleanliness the place was spotless, from my seat I had a view into the kitchen again everything was organized and clean the cooks were on top of their gave easily moving around and past each other. I would also recommend that when presenting the tablet for payment set it on the table the server holding it makes it awkward. read more

Me & my co-worker needed a meal after visiting the area this morning for a work assignment. We researched online and read previous reviews about this restaurant. From all the positive feedback we decided to check it out. Once we arrived, the host instantly welcomed us and seated us right away. We were greeted by our sever Katie. The entire sandwich was goood! My co-worker ordered the Bacon and Hash skillet. This plate looked well put together. My co-worker reports the meal was fulfilling however needed more flavor. My husband ordered the JRB Benedict- it clearly states poached eggs. He made sure to ask if they were actually poached eggs and the man who took his order told him they have a machine they use to poach them with but when he received his meal it came with fried eggs and brown avocado pieces. He promptly returned it and explained the issue so they offered to remake it. On the second try the eggs were not only fried but fried hard and the avocado was just as brown as the first time, if not worse. They have been slipping for some time but this is just a mess. If you cannot cook a poached egg or do not know what one is then you should take the Benedict items off the menu! I was going to return that order for him but it had been over 30 mins of messing with food at this point he had given up on them.
