Dessert is my Kryptonite and I had to make a stop here. This is in the basement of the mall. Lot of great candy selections and I was excited to get the dark chocolate and salted caramel apple. The chocolate and caramel tasted great but the apple was mushy and gross. I ended up just eating the outside and junking the apple. Attention sugar lovers! Our new meet up place is in Herriman at the Salt City Sweet Shop. Whether you are into candy, fudge, soda, caramel apples, cotton candy or ice cream-this place has it. The selection is rather impressive. Candy takes most of us back to our childhood, so it's appropriate that the theme here is "retro." Along with candy from yesteryear, there are cool vintage looking signs and knick knacks for collectors. There are also tons of glass bottles of soda-the kind that you probably grew up drinking, or wish you had. Leatherby's ice cream (arguably the best out there) is served here as well. Want chocolate? Yup, plenty of decadent chocolates as well as a mouth-watering assortment of caramel apples. Really, there's something for everyone. If you don't find something here that you like, I would really question your level of contentment in life. I docked a star for a couple things. First, the location is tricky to get to. There's no direct access from the road, you have to maneuver around the building and enter from the side opposite the main road. It appears that another entrance is planned, but a temporary concrete barrier prevents it from being used until it's fully developed. So that's a challenge-one that will be resolved as the area grows and fills in. The other challenge was the customer service. There were two young ladies working there and neither of them greeting us when we entered. (It's a small enough space, and we were the only customers. It just felt awkward to walk in and start browsing while she just watched us.) When we checked out, I attempted friendly small talk and it fell flat. She wasn't rude, just not the friendly personality I'd hope to find in a local, small business. Otherwise, it's a great place and I'm sure my sweet tooth will guide me back again! read more

Holy candy! Going to this store it's a trip down Memory Lane, with all those old time candies. The also offer a lot of classic candies and some from another countries as well. Beside regular candies, they sell candy apples. I tried the Oreo apple and it was yummy. Also, they have fudge. A huge variety of fudge. I bought a box of fudge and my favorite was the churro one. Went to the Herriman location. The chocolate on almost all the candy in the case had been tempered incorrectly and had turned white. The cupcakes were pretty disappointing looking. Pretty pricey for what it looked like. Ended up buying a few truffles which were pretty good but were $1.95 each. We were told they are made by a different company which likely explains the chocolate being tempered correctly. read more

I visited this store with my three little kids this afternoon, with the express purpose of buying cotton candy. I asked the worker what flavors they had and she said "whatever is in the machine, I can't change the flavor out for each customer" while taking inventory on the floor. I asked what was in the machine and she (clearly perturbed I was interrupting her) went behind the counter and told me "blue". Not even a flavor. What ended up coming out was a combination of purple and blue... looked closer to gray cotton candy than blue. Not sure why this establishment doesn't pour in fresh sugar floss for each customer. Other than the disappointing customer service, this was an ok candy store. Candy selection was fine, if not somewhat overpriced (as most candy stores are). read more

Love this little candy shop! I've been in 4 times so far. Everything I've tried has been awesome, my husband has a special appreciation for the fudge (and they have a deal on Fridays). I love this place!!! The smell is amazing the second you walk in. The old school candy brings back so many memories. The Carmel Apples and Fudge are my favorite.
