Sister-in-law scheduled a super relaxing salt spa day. I personally wasn't expecting anything much, you sit in a room made of salt and talk? Can't you do that anywhere for free? I was pleasantly surprised at how relaxing & cleanly it was. Once you park, go around to the front to sign in, get your temp, and sign any papers you hadn't done online. Once in, there are robes for you to change into, sandals for you to wear while in the salt room, and lockers to securely put your things in. In the dimly lit salt room, there are four chairs for your party. Salt covers the ground and there's soothing tunes that fill the room. After the host leaves the room, you're able to take your mask off and gain the full benefits. When I came, my skin was pretty dry but when we left, my legs, feet, hands, and surprisingly my hair felt super soft. It was fun to also just catch up in a new setting!

My review spans the timeline from when they opened to today. I've been to Salt several times -- a few pedicures, a manicure, and one or two haircuts. While the hair stylists were friendly and provided quality service, it wasn't any different from another place that is just a portion of the price. It is not about the money -- it's the level of service expected from what they portray to be a luxury spa. It's an empty sell. The nail side of the house, however, is what spawned this post. This salon is very close to my house and I was so excited when it opened. I was determined it was going to be my go-to. But I've been more and more disenchanted with every visit. I got a mani-pedi tonight and the staff person was unfriendly and probably should never be in a customer-facing role. She seemed so disinterested in what she was doing and even annoyed I was there. She also rushed at the end of my visit and provided a sloppy job on my nails. See photo. Ultimately, I'm really disappointed in this place.

The very cold vestibule you wait in up until your service

I was so disappointed when this very expensive facial I had to sit and wait in a vestibule that was freezing u til the aesthetician retrieved me a couple minutes after my appointment time. They had a cold area to change with just a crappy curtain, water they couldn't bother to throw a lemon in, but not like it mattered there was no amenities because you wait in a cold doorway anyways. The facial was ok- the actual aesthetician was fine but the amount of perfumes in the different products was worrisome I was hoping for high quality products not over perfumed on my very sensitive skin- and while there was no intake forms with questions on the skin I did tell my aesthetician I have sensitive skin yet these were clearly not hypoallergenic in any way and my skin is worse after visiting the "spa". Very disappointing very a steel $160 price tag on a very mediocre facial.

I think someone asked how much a men's cut is: $30 (a bit on the medium end for me), $10 for a shampoo. Credit fees have gone up for retailers, so they prefer cash. Karina cut my hair and I was surprised that she had adjustable metal clippers for the short side length. I was very satisfied with my cut. Both were really friendly and talkative. I would definitely go back.

Scheduling an appointment was super easy, just note that they are only open during "work hours" on weekdays due to their location in the Crossings Commerce. I overhead Moises asking my SO a ton of questions before diving into cut his hair, which is always a good sign. I also have to give him props, since I was the last person to cut my SO's hair, and I had no idea what I was doing...yet his cut still turned out AMAZING! I was super happy with my haircut as well... I usually go for layers and side bangs, and Karina made that happen while honoring the fact that I am still growing out my hair. I have "Asian" hair so it's usually pretty difficult to find somone who can make my hair visions a reality, but Karina was awesome! She also is a great conversationalist, and there were no awkward silences during the cut. I will say that they are super busy--they got tons of phone calls and walk-ins during our cuts, so definitely try to schedule an appointment if you can! I will to continue to happily support this minority owned/family owned business!!!

Amazing massage!…read more You have to remember this is for education for students so you won't get the upscale feel but after the massage got started and I closed my eyes it was like being in a luxury spa. They had the music and essential oils going. The rooms itself is small and not decorated but has the essentials the students need for the massage. I noticed they don't close the doors and just have the curtain so I was a little confused when I was told to undress if the door was going to close or not. It was a sunny day so the sun was shining pretty bright so the room wasn't very dark. They had the fan going but it felt really nice with the heated bed. The foot soak was nice in the beginning, he gave me a choice of essential oils and gave me a little foot scrub after the soak. I did the serenity package for $90 which included an hour of foot reflexology where he followed the chart. The next hour compromised of a face massage (he put gloves on for this), scalp, neck décolleté, arms, legs, abdomen, glute, and back. He really worked out my problem areas and added some stretches in. I was so relaxed and comfortable the whole time. I do have to mention his voice was very calming and soothing and he checked to make sure I was ok with anything before he did it. I really appreciate him spending extra time with all my knots and issues. I wish you great success in the future Dan! They have two free parking lots that had plenty of spaces when I arrived. Bring cash to tip since they can't take tip on a card.

What wasn't expected was the poor professionalism from instructors and management. It took two instructors to create a color formula, yet my hair turned out much darker than discussed and had noticeable missed spots. When I asked for corrections, I was met with back talk, rudeness, and resistance instead of support or accountability. A touch-up was eventually done, but I still left with a result I didn't ask for and without anyone taking responsibility. Disappointing experience, especially compared to other Aveda locations. I will not be returning to this location , largely because of the behavior of the people who are supposed to be the educators.
