Salt and Stone has a great variety on their menu, a little something for everyone. Service was great though because it was busy, sometimes took a minute to grab the server's attention. The overall music and lighting was great as a nice dinner spot. The crab dip had crab flavor and meat, but for a whole skillet it seemed to be filled with more cream cheese. I personally enjoyed the Brie dip more than the crab dip. My friends and I ordered some oysters that tasted fresh and it came with a cute little Tabasco sauce. While visiting Boston for the week we found this gem and had an excellent dinner! Reservations were simple, we arrived and were immediately seated. We had a great waitress (wish I could remember her name)... anyway she was extremely friendly and provided excellent service. The menu had a nice variety and we had a hard time deciding... we ended up ordering gumbo, deviled eggs, the chicken Cobb salad and had a wonderful margarita to boot. The dollar oysters are from 3-5pm now! We came for the dollar oysters and were informed that it only occurs at the bar so please let the host know if you're coming specifically for that. The servers were super nice and accommodating. There is a limit of 12 oysters per person. The oyster sizes are variable, but tasted super fresh. It sounded as if there wasn't a reservation under my name but it was resolved and we were seated. Waitress was nice and attentive in the beginning. We ordered a juice and a cocktail and they arrived a little before our entrees. I was so disappointed with my avocado toast, it looked like they had just smeared on some guacamole. I had opted for no cheese due to a developing allergy to dairy but didn't realize this would've effected the dish that much. My sister's order of the smoked salmon eggs Benedict looked fine but had an overwhelming amount of hollandaise sauce. My mother ordered the salmon bagel and that was fine, she enjoyed it. My husband and I came here before a concert and it was amazing! The atmosphere and service was impeccable. There were so many glorious looking items in the menu so we decided to share some plates. First we started with drinks. I had one that was on special called the Frozen Mint Watermelon margarita and it was delish. My husband had the Salt and Stone which I tried and thought was even better! We also split the The Way Grandma Used to Make Them which had maple syrup and black walnut bitters in it. So GOOD! For the food we split the tuna poke, the mango habanero wings and the green side salad. Everything was fantastic from start to finish. I even polished off the night with a very tasty scoop of their vanilla ice cream. Oh and on a side note: their bathrooms are fabulous and very clean!! Such a fun place! We traveled from New York and visited Salt + Stone in Somerville. This place is absolutely amazing! The interior is tastefully designed, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. My friend and I came here based off of precious yelp reviews and I must say we were no where from disappointed. When we walked in the beautiful aesthics caught my eye. The natural light that eliminated through the window on this Spring like day in Winter was amazing. We were told that the oysters were $1 so we immediately started with that. They were very fresh and delicious. We then had their crab dip with homemade bread...that was phenomenal. My mouth is watering just thinking about that amazing dip. We also had the deviled eggs that had a nice creamy taste with a hint of spice because it was topped with a pepper. My meal was the chicken with the mashed up potatoes, green beans and mushroom sauce. This sauce was exquisite, everything blended so well together and was seasoned with love. The service overall was great our water was kind and shared his favorite dessert that ended up being my favorite. As much as I wanted to finish my entree, I decided it's best I leave room for dessert and I was happy I did. We ordered the apple crisp and that brought me back to Fall and apple picking. The apples were delicious and sweet with cinnamon and topped with vanilla ice cream and Caramel. I suggest you try this place out. Update: after having a 5-star Easter brunch here, I decided to have dinner here for my birthday in July. We were a party of 6 in on a Sunday night. Unfortunately, the experience left my family wondering why my husband and I had raved about this place. Service was slow - we likely would have had an additional round of drinks if service had been quicker during the duration of our dinner. We order a couple of shared appetizers, which were fine. After apps, half of our party ordered side salads in addition to entrees, and the salads came out a few minutes after the entrees did. The food was all pretty much fine. My steak which was a bit overcooked, as was my husband's burger. The pastas and flatbreads didn't have any issues. The dirty dishes from our dinner were never cleared off the table. We ended up stacking all the dirty dishes in order to make room on the table for dessert, and even then nothing was cleared. When we left the restaurant, the pile of dirty dishes were still on the table, in addition to our dessert dishes. When my husband made the reservation he noted that we were celebrating a birthday, and when the server first approached our table she did acknowledge that we had a special occasion - but nothing festive was done. I certainly don't want servers singing to me or anything like that, but typically a restaurant might do something like write "happy birthday" in chocolate on a dessert plate or put a candle in a dessert. Certainly not a huge deal, but it was strange to say "we know you're here celebrating" and then give us lackluster service, a table full of dirty dishes for half the night, and nothing festive for the birthday. I'm bringing my review down from 5 stars to 3, because the brunch experience we had really was great. But after this dinner...I'm unlikely to go back. read more

This is a really cute new restaurant in Assembly Row. I went there for dinner for the first time last week and really enjoyed it. My friend and I split two of the ravioli dishes - the butternut squash ravioli and the mushroom ravioli. We loved both of them and we would definitely come back and try more dishes. I went to Salt and Stone on 6/18 and sat at the bar. The food was excellent, Cobb Salad and Prosciutto and Fig Pizza. So good! Went here with a friend recently for drinks and dinner and was not disappointed. Great service, our waitress kept checking in on us and just overall had a great disposition. Food was great, very flavorful meaty wings with a nice chunky blue cheese dressing, a perfectly cooked mushroom brick oven pizza and a well dressed nice sized caesar salad. They sat us outside in this adorable little enclosure. I was nervous at first it would be chilly but they had plenty of heaters throughout and it was nice to be able to people watch. I wish I had good things to say. I thought this would be a good place to celebrate the double holiday of New Years and the anniversary of mine and my wife's first date. I ordered the Stone Filet and asked for medium to medium well. It arrived butterflied and so well done there's no telling what kind of meat it was. I sent my steak back and asked for it medium to medium well. The steak returned so rare, it flinched when I cut it. My wife got the tarragon chicken and found it "good". Kinda boring lacking spice, but at least edible. We did enjoy the shrimp cocktail, but the tarragon deviled eggs were spiceless. In general, when an establishment advertises a particular spice in a dish, you should be able to taste that spice. Not in these eggs, or my wife's chicken. The wait staff was very accommodating and apologetic, but they weren't to blame. When it time to tip, I added enough to tip on the filet they took off the bill. Take care of your waitstaff! I was surprisingly blown away by this place! We went here on Mother's Day (for brunch) and it was absolutely fantastic. The food was unbelievably delicious; we shared the French toast to start and it was AMAZING. We also got the hangover burger (do yourself a favor and get this) and the breakfast poutine. Everything was great from the good, cocktails, service, and the overall vibe of the restaurant. They also have super comfortable chairs and a great looking bar. On Tuesday June 18th we had the pleasure witnessing an owner take pride in his establishment and appreciation of his employee. He ensured the cooler of ice filled with waters outside their door remained stocked and cold and per the bartender this was his doing (not the city's). Also the entire time we were there him or an employee walked around with an air temp gun to ensure his staff and patrons remained cool and comfortable. Rhe bartender also added that even though the windows open to the outside walk he won't open them on some of the busiest days due to the heat being too high and his staff having to endure anything but comfortable workable conditions. Salt and Stones owner is a complete contrast to that of the River tavern . Once prior we enjoyed tacos , cocktails and the positive energy of the staff. Before entering Salt and Stone we tried to enjoy the same experience at River Tavern. Again one of the hottest days in Boston history there was no excuse to have staff working outdoors without proper cooling equipment . The bartender was dripping from head to toe sweating over cups and beverages and through his clothing. He didn't have a single fan, the outside smelt like day old runny trash and entire bar was sticky. Save the time and skip the River and venture on to Salt and Stone where the owner appreciates the wellbeing of his staff and patrons . read more

From the moment I called, the service was excellent. The employee I spoke with was able to give me preliminary information and got my contact for the manager. I heard from David, the manager, and he also provided excellent service answering all of my questions and helping me figure out the best options for my group. When the day for our event came, the restaurant was completely prepared for our group and the service was EXCELLENT. I wish I would've done a better job getting the servers name so I could recognize them, but the service was top tier. The food was also excellent and had options for all the dietary restrictions in our group. I will also say I found the entree options to be very affordable for a brunch and appreciated that a lot. Overall, I had a fantastic experience working with Salt + Stone and I could not recommend them more. read more

We ordered delivery from Uber Eats and it was a nightmare - missing items, incomplete orders and it was all cold. Now, I understand this can be as much Uber Eats fault as the restaurant, however, the manager was quick to pass blame which was disappointing. Zero accountability when it was highly likely the restaurant didn't complete the order. That said, they are good apparently giving customers cold, bad food. So that is my review, wings were rubber, can't tell you about the burgers because they weren't delivered and the chicken tarragon was inedible. This restaurant does not deserve any stars for food or service. Truly awful experience and delivery or not I would never recommend this place. read more
