NEGLIGENT, HELL ON EARTH COMPLEX. Please, please don't live here. There's a chance you'll regret it for the rest of your life and lose something you'll never get back.
When this complex was "Torrance Venture," it had dozens of one-star reviews about how terrible the plumbing, the maintenance, the management, etc. were. When it became "SaltAire" everyone had hope things would get better... but they became so much worse. Sure, the managers have been friendlier.... but it's just fake smiles hiding the same "do as little as possible to help you to save money and placate you until the next disaster" mentality. Sure, their maintenance staff is larger... but they're never there when you need them and when they do work, experts have to come later to fix their work and sometimes outright refused to because they don't want their names attached to the "shoddy work" of the SaltAire worker who messed things up prior. SaltAire looks nice on the outside, but ask people who have lived on the inside long enough and you'll hear plenty of nightmares like the ones I'm about to share.
In the past two years since SaltAire took over, we've had our neighbors' fecal water come up out of our bathtubs several times and flood our apartment. We've had their grease and food debris-filled water come up out of our kitchen sink and flood our apartment. Maintenance has never helped until it was far too late. I could pay for a months rent with the money spent on towels and pans I've lost since I moved in here, cleaning up these disgusting waste-filled floods. We always get a "we're sorry for the inconvenience," but the rare times we've been offered rent credits, they didn't even cover the cost of the towels let alone the hours spent cleaning up strangers' filth, days without sink or bathroom access, etc. We've had our kitchen ceiling collapse and our floorboards warp from all the plumbing issues, and a manager outright say to my 75-year-old roommate's face when she voiced her safety concerns, "wear a helmet."
It gets so much worse than that though.
Attached to this post you'll see pictures of my dog Luca. I shared this adorable little boy with two residents of this apartment. I'd give anything in the world to have lived anywhere else with him. He turned three years old last week. He was the sweetest dog - ran up and hugged everyone he met, loved to play and cuddle, and made everyone who met him fall in love with him. Countless people in this complex know him by name and loved to say hi to him on his walks to the courtyard. SaltAire and their contractors knew we had a dog, yet their construction workers left the doors of our apartment open and abandoned for an extended period and he got out, and the workers chased him until he got hit and killed. I want everyone who considers living here to see this, and picture this being your pet or child. Your home is never safe here - workers come and go as they please and leave your doors open for anyone and anything to go in and out. We asked them several times to keep the doors closed and they saw our dog, and the very first day we left him in the apartment alone, this happened. We will never trust SaltAire again (and we had workers come in last year when SaltAire was owned by a different management company and steal money from our drawers and one used his key and invited his girlfriend into our apartment outside working hours in the past "to show her some of our collectibles", so trust was already hard to come by). Luca was the love of my life, and the constant negligence of this complex took him from me. I will never, ever forgive SaltAire for this. Living here was already hell on earth for countless reasons, and now I have to deal with that without my baby. read more
