I spent 2 weeks calling landscaping contractors for estimates to install a sprinkler system at my house but none returned my call. I then made a call to Saltos Landscaping and the owner, Jesus, returned my call and showed up the next day, Friday, to provide an estimate. Jesus was very professional and he and his team showed up on Monday to commence work. They installed 4 stations, 2 in the front yard and 2 in the backyard and were done by Wednesday. I was amazed at the speed at which they hand-dug the hard ground with rocks, etc., to install the sprinkler system. They installed the cell phone-controlled Hunter Industries wi-fi controller, which is amazing to use and a huge labor saver. The first project: installing shrubs on the property line went well. They did an outstanding job, so we went back to them for a lawn maintenance and patio extension project. The first appointment day for the patio project, the guys were 2 hours late. No calls from the company, so I called them to see if they were still coming and that was when I was told that they are running late because they were just leaving another job site. Being that I had to call them to get this information instead of them contacting me, was overlooked this time. Finally, the guys came and started removing the grass and prepped the area with some crushed rock. After a few visits from the lawn maintenance crew, they crew was asked 3 times to prune the shrubs in front of the house. They seemed to be rushing to leave and just before they left l, I asked them again to trim the shrubs in the front of the house. The guys trimmed the shrubs and just left the clippings. I asked them if they could remove the clippings and they just left. I sent pictures of this to the owner. On the same day, we set up an appointment for the guys to come back to work on the patio project (adding more crushed rock before pouring concrete). NO CALL, NO SHOW of the concrete crew! I called the concrete manager and was told "well you know how concrete guys are, what can I say". This was not Professional nor Courteous in any manner. A blatant disrespect of my time for the 2nd time was shown. A call was made to the Landscaping's owner regarding the concrete guys no call, no show and the first words from him were " What are you complaining about now"! As a customer, I was furious!!! So, I proceeded to eloquently remind the owner of why I chose to retain his services for this patio project, which was the main reason for the phone call. And how valuable my time is when you take time off to wait for a hired contractor and no one calls or shows up. Next, I expressed my complaint for the trimmed shrubs clippings. He told me that they don't pick up the clippings after trimming the shrubs and that this was an uncommon practice. Nevertheless, he apologized for the incidents and we set up another appointment date and time for the concrete guys to come back to finish the site for pouring concrete. It was expressed and agreed that there would be an open line of communication regarding any future delays. And again, 2 hours later from the agreed day and time, no call no show! As I began leaving my home to try to salvage the wasted time from waiting, the concrete guys arrived, no apology from them. The guys seemed rude when they were politely told that they were 2 hours late and they are not doing any work for me that day. I was not waiting anymore, I was actually in my car leaving for a rescheduled appointment. My backyard was left unfinished. I had to hire someone else to complete this project, I was hopeful that I would never have to post a review like such. And NO, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY FOR JOBS, LANDSCAPING OR CONCRETE. read more

From start to finish this company was excellent! I am so happy with all aspects of this project. Gabriel met with me to discuss the scope of the project and gave me some great ideas. He had a rough estimate in his head and this was correct and not a penny more. The scope of the project was to remove grass and dig out bamboo that was spreading to the yard, lay artificial turf, pavers and chips. The 2k estimation is mainly coming from replacing two under ground "leaking" valves, since cost a lot to dig it up and replace it, however, those two valves are totally fine, it is just some setting problem need to fix, not need to dig it up and replace it. They take the time to price their services out (which included all the materials) so you are not blindsided by the cost or hidden fees. There's different quality irrigation materials (sprinkler heads, rotors, valves, etc) so I would recommend you ask about the differences; sometimes the cost is minimal to go from the most basic supplies (that last only a short time) to something more mid-level or premium (that will last many years). I hired Saltos to install the paver on my patio about 2-4 weeks ago. We agreed on what kind of the pattern I want and he told me he could make it happen. I was responsible to provide the paver/sand and gravel. He gave me the incorrect sf measurement estimate so I ended up I had to arrange serval additional deliveries which costed me extra delivery efforts. When the job started he sent his crew over, first of all the crew didn't know how to do the pattern style so they spent a couple hours to figure it out. In order to save time I let them do the free style. Secondly when I see they didn't compact the base So I mentioned that it would cause un even surface and the paver would not be straight at all. Finally the Jesus(The owner) told me not to mention anything to his crew during their work. They will do the walk through to fix the unsatisfactory. When the job was done, the project was terrible as I afraid. The paver didn't install the way we agreed at beginning and they refused to fix them because it would take too much of their time. However they eventually walk away and tell me I would need to find someone else to fix it. I found a few landscape companies to visit my patio and they all agreed that the job was done wrong and it was very un even and edges were terrible. I would suggest whoever is thinking to hire them you need to be aware of those un professional behavior and they did a terrible job. read more

Got 3 bids on a approximate 63ft wall. Salto's and another bid were approximately the same but Salto's offered more services for the money and had a opening right away. They came the next day as promised. Two workers came in and finished it in a little over 3 days and to my surprise completed additional details like planting seeds in bare areas, lengthening the wall as necessary for aesthetics, and doing other fine details to allow my shrubs to grow and stay healthy. Let me start off by saying that Jesus and his team didn't actually do any work for me. I requested a quote for an issue I was having with my sprinkler system and Jesus was quick to respond. He was upfront and told me that he was too busy to be able to help me out. Even after telling me he was too busy to do the work, he still continued to message me and give me some tips on how I might fix the problem myself. Fortunately, with the advice from Jesus I was able to resolve my problem.
