Our group arrived in time to catch the tail end of a triathlon and got to cheer for a few athletes. We were there to paddle and enjoy a few of their easy to intermediate water trails. The beautiful views, peaceful surroundings and just being out on the water was exactly what we came for. Entry was $8 per vehicle, plus a 50¢ per person surcharge. Our group member is a veteran so he was able to get us all in for free with his military park pass. The staff we came in contact with were super friendly and provided us a map and what to expect for the day. All in all, a great place to explore and relax when you want to experience the Keys without the sandbar flex.

There is canoe, kayak and paddleboard rentals in the park next to the public restroom. Double kayak for $55/4hours. It's fun to kayak in the mangrove jungle with clear water. We saw lot of fish while kayaking. There are two kayak routes, each about 1.5 to 2 hours, we were given the laminated map and kayak follow the route. remember to wear hat and bring water, as some of the routes are pretty hot.

Andrew provided ice and all the water you can drink. It's about ten minutes into the charter you realize you are with an expert boater and a professional fisherman, and your family is safe. This Keys native is why this is the best fishing in the world. He simply knows what he is doing and gets after it... Andrew took great care of my family and spoiled my kid forever!!! Not only did she land some nice fish...she learned about flats fishing from a guy who made sure she was always fishing always learning and always experiencing the generous kindness we all want for our kids. He encouraged every crank of the reel and held up the fish for her for the picture...She's already asking when we are going back out and if she could bait her own hook!!! There were three of us on our trip and there was never a time we didn't have a baited hook in the water and reeling in some mangrove snapper...Andrew even handed over a very nice speckled trout for my kid to reel in....what a thrill!!!! If you have an 11 year old and want a perfect day...I highly recommend starting super early and getting out in the flats with Papa Drew... For me...it will be unforgettable...especially when he said the most ridiculous thing I ever heard a guy say..."you see those Dolphin over there...I think I can make them jump up out of the water"...People please keep in mind that this part is a matter of an experienced set of eyes, expert boating and somebody up there wanting my kid to have a lifelong memory!!!! Check out the videos....and get out there with Papa Drew!!!!

Gosh, where do we start.Well lets start with this, we rented the Tobbie Dee for 1 week. There were…read more6 of us (2 adults 4 kids). the size of the boat is ok as long as you have smaller kids. It was clean, the Tiki Bar has very good (but expensive) food, the master bedroom bed is comfy, the 3 A/C units keep most of the boat cool and the manger was nice and answered all of our questions. Thats it for the 1 star rating now for why it should get ZERO stars. there are 2 mini fridges, neither of them is the freezer working. The older unit in the kitchen barely even keeps your food cool. Their website IS VERY miss leading. The so called beach is a rock covered area that you swim at your own risk (yes there are crocodiles in the area) although there have been no incidents we hae heard of, you shoulfd be aware. Cna't bring your own food and drinks down to it either, your supposed to buy their food and drinks. Dont think for a second that your pulling into a "resort" its maybe a Motel 6 type resort, the boat is actaully parked next to mangroves and the scenry is not plesant, very mundane. This was our first experience on a houseboat and we were not aware of the no paper going down the toliet (would have been nice to know ahead of time). The pull out couch was so uncomfortable we ran down to Kmart and bought an air mattress. The Futon was also rock hard, but the younger kids were ok with it (hell they can sleep on a bare floor), but if you have teenagers or adults NO WAY will they be able to sleep on it. Needless to say we would not recommend the Tobbie Dee, can't say I'd recommend the area either.
