Decided to try this place after having had not great experiences at previous restaurant. Staff could not have been more friendly and attentive from greeter to waitress to food runners and managers We ordered six wings to start with hot honey sauce. The wings came out nice and crispy with the sauce on the side. They were very good. Could have been larger for $2 per wing but I know prices are going up for restaurant supplies. Small salad was very good and enough for two or more to share. We also order their corn rib appetizer which was very tasty as well. We then shared a dish that had burnt end brisket, shrimp and Mac & cheese (sorry can't remember the name). That was really good We are both not big eaters so I couldn't wait for leftovers the next day, which heated up great. If there was one just ok thing was my wife's margarita she ordered off the menu. Still looking for that really good margarita down here. Need someplace that makes their own sour mix! When the menu came out we were a bit worried because they not only have a variety of smoked meats and ribs but they also serve sushi. Kind of a weird combination but hey why not! The waitress was very enthusiastic about the sushi and the sushi chef. Definitely going back to try the ribs and maybe some sashimi!!!! Go and give it a try. I stopped by Salty Cow Tavern for the first time and seem to have accidentally joined a social experiment titled: "If a customer sits at the bar and orders food, but the bartender ignores him, does the burger exist?" I sat down and the bartender never acknowledged me. No greeting, no eye contact, nothing. After a while, a guy who didn't even work the bar handed me a menu and said the bartender would be with me soon. That proved to be more of a philosophical concept than a timeline. Eventually a woman stepped in, took my order, and poured my beer. She may have been a waitress, management, or a volunteer from the audience, it was hard to tell. I ordered a smash burger... which never arrived. After finishing my beer and realizing my burger had apparently entered the witness protection program, I asked if I could just pay for the drink and leave. She agreed. The bartender, suddenly aware I existed, protested. I paid and left, relieved to confirm that other restaurants in town operate in the visible spectrum. Hopefully just an off night, but acknowledgment and delivering the food you order feels like a reasonable baseline. read more

This was our second visit on a Sunday at 11:30 AM and a party of six. Let me just say that the brisket is absolutely. AMAZING.!! do not miss it. This is a sports bar. TVs can be seen from all angles. If you're there to watch a game you won't have to ask for a special seat. My son ordered the large portion of brisket. My husband ordered the small order of brisket. Son's mother-in-law ordered the grouper sandwich with the slaw on the side grandson ordered the grouper sandwich. I ordered the Texas bowl and my daughter-in-law ordered the avocado wrap with a side of Mac & cheese. We were seated immediately, and the restaurant was almost empty. It did take us quite some time to place our order as the menu is quite extensive .... once we were able to place our order, the restaurant had filled up. It took over an hour to get our food. When it came everything was perfect except the avocado wrap. It had NO avocado in it! The waitress was quick to check if everything was as it should be, the took it, quickly returned, but the side of Mac & cheese was cold. (It was good - but cold) Our waitress "Brie like the cheese" as she introduced herself was a wonderful little waitress, very helpful, friendly, and attentive. The manager came by and we explained what had happened and that Brie had taken care of it quickly and very nicely. We told him we understood that they were slammed with the crowd, but if it's going to be an hour wait it would be nice if there was some sort of an appetizer like nachos and chips or peanuts or even pretzels waiting for over an hour after ordering is a long time. (hence the four stars for the long wait time.) BE AWARE THAT THE PRICES ON THE MENU ARE NOT WHAT YOU GET CHARGED IF YOU USE A CREDIT CARD. THEY DO NOT ADD THE CHARGE AT THE BOTTOM THEY ADJUST EACH AND EVERY ITEM ON THE BILL! But to be fair, this is stated on the back of the menu in small print. read more

Amazing tasting shrimp! Tried the peel & eat shrimp and it was so good. Next went with the tiki shrimp and it was phenomenal. So delicious with the sweetie peppers. The bartender had a lot of people at the bar but was always checking in with me and did a wonderful job! Love the atmosphere here! Definitely will be visiting again! read more

Service was excellent! My brisket stew was too salty for me. Nice view of the river.

Just got a salad with brisket and the lettuce was all yellow and brown. Brisket was nothing but a hunk of fat. Very disappointing.

Food was great. Service pretty good. Overall experience very nice. Need a few more waiters/ waitresses ... with more experience. I guess being fairly new they need to learn the ropes. Hopefully they will very soon. It's about to get busy read more

Excellent service. I had the brisket sandwich. Perfectly cooked, not too fat, great flavor. Definitely one of my favorite places to eat.
