Finding the spot initially was a little confusing, we were the last ones to show up! You are given a number based on when you arrive and you choose a seat on the boat. There is a captain and a naturalist on board who talks about the whales. If you're sitting in the back of the boat, you really can't hear what's being said so sit at the front or in the middle. We circled around and got to see a baby whale breech the water! Such magnificent animals. When a microphone was lowered in the water, we could hear the whales "singing." Did you know it's only the males that do this? The time goes by reallllly fast, so just enjoy being out there.

We started off the morning with homemade cinnamon roles and POG juice - so delicious! We went snorkeling at Honolua Bay and it was absolutely incredible. We saw beautiful coral, colorful fish and even sea turtles!! I had to squeeze my husband's hand because it was so magical!! After snorkeling, we ate lunch consisting of teriyaki chicken, rice, and salad! We were stuffed and the crew came around asking if anyone wanted seconds. On our sail home, we got the special 4th of July drink (since it was 4th of July, of course) which was a twist on their margarita. We had 2 glasses and then they served ice cream for dessert. Overall it was an incredible experience and I would recommend them to anyone staying in Maui! Our crew was super friendly, knowledge and made sure we got everything we needed. Captain Riley explained much of what the islands in the past (before Captain Cook) and to today. The boat (Trilogy VI) was brand new and beautiful. When we arrived on Lana'i we went to a beautiful white sand beach with great snorkeling, and a hike to see some amazing views. The food...! It almost never stopped with breakfast, a big and delicious lunch. Got back on the boat and saw dolphins, flying fish, and other tropical sea life. The crew were amazing from start to finish. Friendly, helpful, and great crew members. The photographer was friendly and knowledgeable about the best shots. They provide the photos electronically via a very reasonable $85 (nice as a keep sake of the photos of the two of us that the photographer placed us in.) Cannot recommend Trilogy enough. They've been around since 1973 and really have it figured out. Our 18 year old son loved it too. It's great for any age.

This time we were with Kersten and Travis and they also were knowledgeable, friendly, and enthusiastic. Unbelievably, this time we saw groups of male whales, competing for eight female or females. There were no less than seven whales swimming in a huge circle around our boat. It was truly an amazing experience as they were within 10 feet and you could hear them exhale and smell them as well. The boat was unbelievably smooth and stable.

Let me tell you, this was THE BEST $60 I've spent in my life! I can't stop talking about it & sharing the pictures & videos of my experience. Park at the Whaler's village parking lot & make your way to the beach fronting Leilani's restaurant. There you will see blue umbrellas with Blue Maui's logo. Make sure to check in 15 mins before your trip & go to the bathroom before you get on the boat! From the beach you'll get into a small boat which will take you to the medium sized boat. I forced my boyfriend to sit at the front of the boat because I wanted to get the full experience! Let's just say we went out really, really far... For the first 30 mins we say only a few whales from far away, but then things changed! We saw a few boats that were just chilling & decided to join them. The whales were popping up & checking out the other boats. I screamed with excitement so many times. I literally love whales! The whales made their way towards us & I almost died because they were so close. We even got splashed by them with their tail! Make sure you take your GoPro because you're able to stick it in the water! We got amazing videos! The whales were so close & you could even hear them! As promised, he found an octopus and put on a show with it (humanely, of course). We saw tons of tropical fish too. The scooters themselves are an absolute blast. They're the most fun thing I've ever done in the water. This is our second time doing an e-scooter tour and we highly recommend this place. We had plenty of time to scoot around on our own in pairs, too.

We were swimming with SO. MANY. TURTLES. (Apparently if you go in the winter season, you'd see a lot of whales!)! I know there are other "turtle town spots around the island, and we've been to a "turtle town". But the sheer amount of turtles you will see here is unparalleled. Our guides Derek and Robbie were awesome: 1. They took so many photos of us - diving under waters to capture the turtles and us, took 200+ photos and 40 videos and was constantly in the water looking out for turtles. 2. They are also such great swimmers and made me feel at ease given that I'm fairly new to snorkeling. At some point I lost one of my fins and started panicking, but Derek swiftly recovered the lost fin! We also capsized at some point, but with Robbie's calm instructions, we quickly made it back to the kayak. Whew! 3. We also heard several interesting stories and facts about the history of the islands around. Overall, this is absolutely a can-not-miss tour in Maui and we can't wait to be back for the whale season!

We went today on the advice of YELP friend Darlene…read more Mahalo. It was a noon trip with about 29 on a flat sea. Captain and crew of one. So we saw minimal activity. A breach, spyhop, and tails. But we paralleled a pod of a 8-10 for about 20 minutes in t to he channel. Until they broke up. But Just to pace them and watch try sea life in action. Amazing. I only had the goal of seeing some out in the water but I was surprised to be a part of a "mugging." Kristina was very proactive in trying to get whales to approach our boat as they were visiting other ones nearby. Lindsey got great gopro footage that she shared with everyone! I had a great time learning about whales and seeing one up close!
