We sail a lot all over on the Cats. This was by far the best! The boat is absolutely in a league of its own! Captain Jack and crew were so personable and offer yacht Level service just so awesome!!! We did the dinner cruise and the meals were 5 star level!! Incredible!!! This was 3.5 hour cruise and we were even lucky enough to catch a beautiful sunset! A humble thank you to the captain, crew and chefs of this gorgeous Cat!! We can't wait to get back to Maui to do this again!!

Amazing fish special by chef Sergio!

Long time Hula Girl fans! Once we found the Hula Girl, many, many years ago, we have rarely been on another boat when we visit Maui. Peter and Inca(owners) and their amazing team are special and we always love seeing them and getting first class service. We have been on all of their excursions (snorkel cruise, dinner cruise, sunset sail and the whale watch cruises). All worth it! My family and I own many hula girl hats(have one on in pic) and swim shirts. Food is always fantastic and fresh with chef Sergio in their full service kitchen. We always get the fresh fish special (and many happy hubby drinks..a must!) as soooo good and such presentation. Can't rave enough about the beautiful catamaran, the team, the food, the drinks and the sailing experience. Highly recommend, you will be hooked like us! Looking forward to our next trip!

Another day in Paradise on the Hula Girl

Every time we're on Maui, we seek out the Hula Girl. Have been sailing with them many times. We love the crew, the boat and the food. It's a must-do for us! Can't wait until next time. So happy they're 'back in the water'... There's nothing else like them on the Maui waters.

The best of the best! This was such an incredible sailing and snorkel experience for our family. The crew was so nice and friendly and helpful. The owners went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. The food and drinks were incredible, the snorkel and scuba gear was in perfect condition, and of course the scenery was breathtaking! We saw a pod of dolphins and tons of gorgeous fish. We could not have been happier with our day and we will definitely be back on the Hula Girl next time we are on Maui! 5/5 stars!!!

So.Much. Fun! My sister and her family gifted us a snorkel tour in late May. The staff was professional and so kind...even when I got unexpectedly sea sick from the squalls. Overall we had a wonderful afternoon and will be back next year.

You thought I was gonna review the Hula Girl boating service? Okay, yes you're right. But FIRST, the food.... You guys, this food was so awesome for being served on a boat in the middle of the Hawaiian see. We got the pork quesadilla with salsa and it really hit the spot after swimmin around in the ocean for a bit. We also got the pork sandwich with those yummy Hawaiian potato chips, BAM! That meal was awesome too. Yes I LOVED the boating excursion and I also thought the staff was lovely. Really cool how they just pick ya up on the beach as well. Thanks Hula Girl!

Fantastic staff and a beautiful boat. We booked an evening ride and diner. Completely wonderful experience for a 4-hour ride. The boat picked us up on the beach. There were shoes allowed on the boar, and they washed our feet. The entire place was clean, and the staff was terrific. Mattie helped us get the correct local and talked to my son about being a works traveler. We order the pasta with the catch of the day, crab cake, the surf & turf, and pasta with Ahi tuna. Every meal was amazingly prepared in the kitchen on the ship. The steak was a perfect rare, and the tuna was red in the middle. Perfect. Absolutely a wonderful experience and probably the highlight of our time in Lahaina.

This was one of the highlights of our trip! We loved snorkeling at Honolua Bay and saw so many varieties of fish. The service was excellent and food was delicious. I was so surprised how comfortable and exciting a catamaran tour could be. I felt very safe boarding (and deboarding) as well as walking around. The crew checked in on us and other passengers to make sure we were ok or if we needed anything. The vessel was comfortable. We didn't reserve any special seats (optional) and were perfectly comfortable at open table seating (we couldn't tell from the website if we were going to be sitting at the front of the catamaran trying to eat, and that wasn't the case). Some additional info for travelers who've not been to Maui to snorkel based on experience: Don't bother with a Molokini tour (a different tour company). We did that early on. The staff on that tour was fine, but the crater didn't have a lot to see and there were so many people that we were being bumped and kicked (inadvertently). It was a disappointment. We'd hoped that this would be enjoyable snorkeling like we had done on the Big Island near Captain Cook monument, but it was definitely not. Honolua Bay was far superior. So, I'll be honest -this is not some thing I thought I'd put in a review, but for someone who may be concerned about bathrooms on a catamaran: These are down a flight of steps that are not as sloped as the steps coming onto the catamaran; however, there are rails to hold on both sides and the steps are covered with something textured. I was rather worried about going up and down these, but it was not terrible at all. The bathroom was even cleaner and more spacious than expected. If we make it back to Maui, I'd would definitely rebook this tour in a heartbeat. We had a fabulous time!

For us, we prefer the Sunset Cocktail cruise as it's the perfect amount of food and drinks. This last trip, we took the whole family for the express snorkel trip. It's a shorter trip, which worked perfectly for the younger kids and didn't tie up a big amount of island time. Captain Nick and his crew was all about making sure all had a great time while keeping safety at the top of mind. They guaranteed we'd see turtles... we did! Immediately. I accused them of being remote controlled because they were there right on cue! I'm not a big snorkel guy, but I had a blast. We'll keep returning to Sea Maui. Greatest crew on Maui !!

Our first trip…read moreout was an adults-only family excursion while the kids hung out with their grandma and auntie. The catamaran was pretty sweet, with some really comfy bean bags overlooking the edge out to the ocean. While we did occasionally get splashed in this area, it was worth the unobstructed view of the sunset and the breeze in my hair. The crew was especially sweet and treated all of us like absolute royalty. A note to those who are prone to motion sickness: do not try to be brave and only wear sea bands thinking you'll be okay. Take your Dramamine an hour before you board the catamaran. While the first half of our dinner cruise was fine with my motion sickness, the second half of the trip left me feeling really queasy around dinner service time. This made me very sad. This was no fault of the crew, and 100% my fault for thinking I could tough it out. If you are ill-prepared, the crew has ginger ale, club soda and ginger chews to help. Speaking of dinner, the few bites I was able to eat on our first trip were fantastic: a full dinner buffet prepared by Cafe Jai. The salmon was perfectly tender, as was the short rib. The caesar salad was just the right amount of tangy (and the extra dressing was really great on the salmon as well.) I'm not sure what kind of sauce was on the crispy seasoned potatoes but they were absolutely delightful. And of course, the crown on top of a delicious meal was the mini brownie cup we were served for dessert before we wrapped up the trip. Our second trip (where I was prepared with some Dramamine) was a memorial for our grandparents, where we released their cremains at sea with eco-urns. I must say that the crew handled everything wonderfully. We had the full bar, another beautiful buffet spread including some delicious crispy chicken, a pesto pasta salad, pulled beef sliders, and rolls. After we said our emotional goodbyes, we were given rose petals to release into the ocean. We even received certificates after the trip that gave us the coordinates of where my grandparents cremains were released. I seriously cannot thank Sea Maui enough for giving my family a truly memorable experience on our trip to Maui. They made our trip so special. A million thanks for the kindness!

His grandsons assist him during the tour and they are all kind and fun loving guides that are excited to show you the beauty of this unique island. Getting a tour set up is a bit of a "thing" - almost easiest to just go visit Walter at his house at milestone 14. We had to come back a few times due to weather conditions and you don't get the clearest of instructions - "wade through the river by the first coconut tree past milestone 26", but we figured it out. His boat is anchored in the Halawa bay, at the end of the Kamehamea V Hwy. You park your car past the park and cross the river to meet him at his boat in the morning. The river gets about to your waste. Wear swim gear and ideally some kind of grippy water shoe that you're able to swim with. You will get soaked and sunburnt. Kids should be at least 12 or so to go on this trip. Seas can get a bit rough. The trip is beyond spectacular. We went into a cave with the boat, birds flying above our heads. We jumped from a rock in a bay we passed and went under a waterfall. It's pricey but absolutely worth it. Once in a lifetime experience. Thanks to Walter and his grandsons!!!
