I've been living in OC for 2 years searching for the perfect groomer. I've finally found her. Alanis is so friendly, kind to the animals, always in a great mood. She goes over the cut with you and gets all the detail so exceptions are met with results. Our pup is usually so scared for days after grooming but he hasn't been with her which is a miracle. We love Salty Dogs ... we've been going there for about 5 years now since we came to San Clemente, and Alina and staff are so professional, welcoming, and always pass on their observations of our pet's health condition. We highly recommend. Our dog is a small 8 lb. Bolognese, and she does very well there. Their services are consistently top notch. I have owned many dogs over a long lifetime, and I feel completely comfortable with Salty Dogs. We were welcomed by both the owner Alanis and Zack upon arrival. They asked if we had any concerns or focus areas. We are first time parents of a newborn and had a complicated pregnancy. We did not feel judged that we let our Mini Aussie fall behind. They reassured us life happens and we are there now. Our dog got a de shedding bath, brush, nail trim and lots of love. This is the most amazing grooming spot! Can't say enough good things about this pet salon. The owner is hustling all day with pooch's & she knows her craft! So hard to find grooming AND care for a nervous poodle mix & she nailed it! My picky poodle & crazy German pincher LOVED her. The care & value u get at Salty Dogs beats anyone in SC. My dog is a psycho when it comes to being bathed and groomed - no joke he has been kicked out of other groomers! I brought him to Salty Dog as a last resort and he's fine here. She always does a great job with both bathing and grooming, her pricing is really affordable and my giant spazzy dog goes right in with his tail wagging. She is the dog whisperer! I have a doodle and a poodle and if you have either one of those kind of dogs you know it's hard to find a good quality groomer out there. I was referred to this place and let me tell you, I was not disappointed. Very much the opposite. My dogs ended up looking the best they've ever looked and compared to lesser quality groomers, the pricing was amazing as well. I highly recommend this place read more

We've tried multiple places to have our Labradoodle and Sheepadoodle groomed and Salty Dogs is the best. We live in Lake Forest and travel a distance because the service Alanis provides is wonderful! She's always great with getting those pesky knots out, making our fury girl's beautiful, and just amazing all around. Take your fur babies there, I promise you won't be sorry. read more

Such a WONDERFUL experience! My pup was a little weary going into a new place, with someone she had never met and was refusing to take treats at first, but by the time I picked her up she looked 100% comfortable, was taking treats from the groomer and bouncing around like she owned the place. I know I haven't even gotten to the actual groom yet, but that's an important part for me - that my dog trusts and feels comfortable with her groomer and it was obvious she had had a great experience. As for the actual groom - BEAUTIFUL! I have a medium size standard poodle who had had a pretty bad groom last time so she was really a MESS. When I picked her up she was GORGEOUS! The groomer took time to actually kneel down and get to know my pup, and speak to me at length about what kind of cut I was looking for. VERY personal and really took her time. Poodle hair is insane, and I have extensive experience with many different groomers over the years. This was one of the absolute best grooms any of my poodles have ever had. And considering what she started with, it is really exceptional. We will definitely be back and I definitely recommend. read more

Took our two dogs here and they were amazing. Our dogs really needed a good grooming and that's what they got. She asked questions about what I was wanting and general information about our dogs. She verified if they had allergies and verified that they could have treats. I picked them up and was so ecstatic when I saw how cute and clean they were. If you live in San Clemente or the surrounding area, Alanis is great at grooming goldendoodles and is most likely great with all the other breeds. She is professional, detail-oriented, uses great products and keeps her facility very clean. I also appreciate that my dog isn't put in a crate when she is finished being groomed. read more

Same day appointments available! We are CAGE FREE, groom CATS, elderly dogs and special needs dogs. Please reach out by phone or text today to book your appointment! This salon is by appointment only salon to keep your pets time at the groomers to a minimum. We shampoo twice, condition the coat, hand dry and scissor finish everything. We are mostly cage free but if your pet is a little timid we have carpeted finishing boxes to keep them comfortable and safe. We also specialize in special need pets and aggressive pets. Please call or text for an appointment. $5 off client referrals, $5 off yelp review, and 10% off first time clients who show this post.

I recently took ownership as of January 1, 2021 and thankful for the opportunity to show San Clemente pet owners what an awesome groomer/ person I am! I’m extremely patient, loving, and pay attention to detail which makes me great a groomer. You’ll never have to worry when you pet is in my care!

I recently took my beloved furry friend to this dog groomer, and I couldn't be happier with the result! The staff were extremely friendly and professional and took great care of my dog. They listened carefully to my requests and made sure that my dog was comfortable throughout the grooming process. When I picked up my dog, she looked absolutely stunning - her coat was shiny and soft, her nails were trimmed perfectly, and she smelled amazing! very good work by Alanis. been taking our dog here for 2 years now. They are wonderful! Teddy Bear is a rescue dog. He came with fears. Alanis has been great, she started with Teddy when we first got him. She listens to what you want, his hair cuts are beautiful. She's also very accommodating as far as getting and appointment. I definitely recommend them. read more

The last visit we never receive a call that our dog "COWBOY" was done. Typically he takes two hours but after two and a hlf hours I started to call but my call went to voice mail. Not having a problem in the past I let it ride for another hour and then decided to visit the shop to see what was up. By the time I arrived he was done and the heavy set girl at the counter asked if I would like to leave a tip and I asked for what he had been there for four hours at that point and when he came out it was obvious that he was in distress not having to go potty the entire time he was there. I chalked that the issue was related to the person I was dealing with and her complete lack of social skills. Our appointment was today at 10:00 AM, we were held up by morning traffic and when we arrive I took him for a short walk to relieve himself. When we walk in I was not met with a greeting but was asked if this was COWBOY and I acknowledged that he was. I was then hit with a comment that the rules stipulate the there is only a fifteen minute grace period and that she need to check with the groomer before she could accept my dog. Yes it was the same heavy set gal. I have been coming here for years and have spent 1,000's of dollars here and now I have to be explained what the rules are even though I have never had any type of problem in the past. I guess that there is a new sheriff in town and I need to learn my place. I do not know who owns this place but want to make it clear that I am certainly not going to be abused by a dog groomer receptionis. you can look up my account to see who I am and my promise is that I will not spend another nickel at Zuri as long as this individual works there. Authority is a privilege and should not be given to individuals that are not responsible or mature enough to understand how it is to be used. In this case this person feels she is entitled to chase customers away. If you feel that is the proper way to use it I do not think that you will be in business much longer. Remember dog groomers are paid for with discretion art funds and in the case of a bad economy or poor service dry up pretty fast. Do yourself a favor and eliminate this problem as soon as you can. I would give my rating a minus number if I could.

Our cat has been groomed numerous times by other south OC groomers. This time I talked with a gentleman on the phone about the situation and pricing. He told me $95 for a complete grooming which included several services. I agreed once he understood what he was dealing with. Our kitty had a tumor removed two weeks ago and still had a healing scar. To add to that she had a needle aspiration in her tummy the day before to check another mass. She had two extremely stressful vet visits within the past weeks and we needed a mellow, caring environment that kept an eye on her treatment areas. The front desk guy assured me that they would take the utmost care. This shave was a request of our vet otherwise I would have waited a bit. He gave us confidence to go ahead. When we arrived, punk music was blasting from the grooming room in back. And when I say blasting I mean blasting. We were in the business for 5 minutes without being attended to. Even though our cat was meowing and I was nearly yelling they still couldn't hear me. After several more minutes I stepped closer and they heard me. Mind you they were just talking and listening to music at this time. No pets were being groomed. There was a small dog waiting to be picked up and I felt bad for it due to the noise level. We handed our cat over and I asked if they could switch the music kindly. I told the groomer that our cat just had a procedure yesterday and that she had a tumor removed 14 days prior. Maybe classical or something mellow would be better? She agreed and told us it would take an hour to two hours. Two hours we came to pick her up. The crazy punk mosh pit music was BLASTING. It was disrespectful that they didn't even TRY to act like they cared. The main groomer handed our cat over and told me that she had nicked her nipple because 'she just has so many!'! I was stunned. We told them over and over that she had just been recovering from medical procedures and you cut into her? As a groomer shouldn't you know about where and how many nipples animals have? It was gross. Then she told me the guy quoted me wrong and added 10$ to our bill. I wasn't impressed. She said I could come back if her nipple was damaged and not healing the next day if I wanted to the next day. No thanks. When we got home we had to cut two dreadlocks out of her tail and she had baldness where they cut her too close. It was obvious that they just plain don't care. From the inconsiderate attitude to the sloppy shave and treatment we won't be returning.
