BEWARE!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!!Horrible treatment and attitude provided by this San Clemente location!! I had a 10am appointment today and was quoted 2 hrs to pick up my dog. The same amount of time as I am quoted every 2 weeks that I get my English Cream Golden Retriever bathed. I showed up to pick up my dog and I assumed my dog was ready since my groomer was bathing another dog. She said my dog would not be ready for another 45 minutes because she still had to "brush her and dry her"!! Seriously!! My wet dog was stuffed in a kennel while the groomer double booked and bathed another dog!! I must have looked as shocked as I felt because Madison, a rude young girl sitting at the front desk rudely blurted out, "WE TELL ALL OF OUR CUSTOMERS 3 to 4 HOURS to bathe their dogs!!" Really?!! We have NEVER been told that!! Ever since the first bath took 1 hour (before they closed for the day) , we have been told 1 1/2 hrs - 2 hrs. She laughed at me saying they've been saying it for 2 years! I should have trusted my dog when she REFUSED to go into this groomer every 2 weeks!! I picked her up and told them she will not be returning!! Life's too short to deal with RUDE, CONDESCENDING people... The owner lost a good customer with a sweet dog that paid $90 every 2 weeks plus a 20% tip.... Their loss. read more

Our rescue dog had a bad experience with a groomer and became very difficult to groom to the point we were told he needed to be medically sedated in order to groom. We called SC Grooming and explained what our dog's situation was and they took on the challenge. Fred Dog not only came home happy but had the best grooming job ever. SC Grooming was very patient with him, gave him lots of breaks and helped ease his anxiety without us having to use any medication. I am so thankful for Lauren! She has taken excellent care of Dippy (Dipstick) for years. Dippy is a 17year Old JRT. She's blind and partially deaf, but still has some spunk in her. I was given two recommendations to San Clemente Grooming. That is not good enough for me. So as I always do I reach to my fellow Yelpers. I have never been disappointed with all our Yelpers. Their was a breakfast place by Knotts. I've moved on from that lol. I always read reviews to make sure if others are reviewing them and have never reviewed before. If it seems Hokie I dismiss that review. I recently bought a Morkie Chloe / Cujo. I love my little fur ball. She needs to be groomed every month. So I went on my quest to find her a groomer. I called San Clemente Grooming and found a very nice girl who answered the phone. What a pleasant demeanor and helpful. They did not have an opening for Chloe but offered to bring her in to trim her facial hair. First impression was cute and very clean. All the girls working said hi and welcomed us right in. Remember this was a free mini visit. Oli came and got Chloe. At first they got along and poor Oli had to start trimming her face. She was so sweat with my fur ball. Brushed her out and trimmed her little face and brushed her out completely. I'm bringing her back on Thursday for the full treatment. I recommend San Clemente Groomers 5+. read more

This is no exaggeration- when I pull into San Clemente Grooming and Pet Spa's parking lot my dog goes completely crazy excited to get in to see Lauren and as soon as we enter their front door's little gate he runs to try to push through the other gate to get to her as fast as he can. It is the strangest most delightful thing to see considering his hair-bound fate is extensive cleaning!!! Need I say more to indicate how impressive this salon is- especially Lauren!!! The owner, Lynne Muslin, followed up with me this morning and it's now crystal clear why her employee behaved in such an unprofessional manner. Basically she made it clear I am at fault in this situation as she believes the word of her derelict employee over a customer. She wanted to make sure I knew I was a "no show" in August for an appointment, which I had called after the fact and discussed with one of her untrained employees. My dog had to go to an emergency vet appointment the morning of her scheduled groomer appointment and I forgot in my concern over my dogs health to call and cancel. This was what she was more concerned about telling me after a years worth of appointments at her business. And it does sound like the groomer decided to groom her dogs (that she left unleashed by the front door of the building) instead of a paying customers (who yes, I was 10 minutes late). And this owner was more concerned that I may have in the heat of the moment, when I was calling back after being hung up on by the groomer, called her a name (which sorry, was mot nice but at that point more than deserved). I was warned by friends not to take my dog to this establishment and should have heeded their advice. Please be on alert if you take your fur baby here that they may be left unattended and you may be treated extremely poorly by the staff and owners. read more

Due to covid's shut down and us being new to this area, our 2 dogs' nails were out of control. One of my dogs is terrified of grooming, nails especially. I called this placeand they could see them right away. Staff were able to trim the nails down to an acceptable level. The terrified dog was still terrified, but staff handled it like Champs. I went back shortly after for another nail trim. Staff was terrific once again despite being scratched, attempts to bite af a soiling accident. Staff deserves every bit of money and a good tip, for sure! Please make sure to tip!!! I most recently scheduled an actual grooming session for both dogs. They both look great, they are clean, soft and happy. I highly recommend this place! read more

Other groomers have nicked her or given her a razor burn but San Clemente Groomers didn't, and she looks so adorable!
