Ok, so I would like to humbly add an update. Once I posted my review, Barbara responded with a number I could reach her. I called and booked my next appointment for Waffles. I got Crystal and was pretty nervous. When we got out of the car to go inside, she (waffles), immediately cowered and laid down belly up heartbroken None the less we went in and I calmed her. It does take a while for someone to come out still, you need a bell or a chime on the door to indicate someone entered because tow machines are loud- not their fault. Crystal was really friendly, I explained my concerns, what I wanted for her groom and some quirks. Crystal agreed she was the right fit for the job. I got my text for waffles and to be honest braced myself for a shaking dog or her yet again not being groomed, but just brushed out and excuses. I didn't get any of that. Waffles was precious! Of course she was extremely excited we were there to pick her up, but she was happy. My biggest complaint was that they (both times) return her completely or just barely groomed, stating she tries to bite them. Which she's never bit. After talking with Crystal she explained and figured it all out (I'm happy to share but for the purpose of this, leaving out the long explanation) anyways waffles was short - it's summer and she is READY! My cutie baby was happy and now we know "auntie Crystal" will be her groomer. Thank you for taking extra energy and kindness to rectify my experience before. I gave 4 stars, because consistency is key- but it was 5 star work, and Crystal was just what we needed Thank you Crystal. My labradoodle had a grooming appointment with the specialist Pollyanna who called and said that he had matted hair so it would take a lot longer to work through the issue and perhaps shaving him would be a good option that could be done within the timeframe they had allowed for our dog. I have never seen a more terrible botched job. She shaved him down so much you can see the white from his skin on his face, belly, and backside. She shaved his face down to the skin on the bridge of his nose making him look like a different dog. She nicked him multiple times on his face and on his privates where we see missing skin and red spots!!! She said our dog cried through the entire time he was there (3 hours) and she accused him of trying to bite her which he has never done before, I wonder why? She was inflicting so much pain on our Beau I can't stop crying just thinking about it and neither can he. He has been crying and itching his nicks for hours. On top of this she had a horrible attitude and suggested we give him a Xanax or some sort of anxiety med when he has appointments so he isn't so stubborn! He was stubborn because he was getting mistreated. She charged us full price knowing how bad she made our dog look. Also, if I had read Sara's or Kristen's reviews ahead of time, I would not have brought him. This woman has a history of mistreating pets and saying their coats are very matted so she doesn't have to spend the time doing her job because in reality Beau could have kept at least another inch or two of hair on his body if she took the time which was confirmed by another groomer who took a look at his coat before the grooming started. I'm surprised she still works there. Edit the morning after the grooming; We were contacted by their owner and she was so kind and so concerned to make things right for Beau. She had Crystal (another groomer who works there ) try to fix him up better so he could look more like himself. We appreciated her quick reaction. But, nothing will fix the 3 hours of pain our dog had to go through, he is traumatized! read more

Absolutely horrible grooming. They ruined my poodle terriers cut by completely shaving him, gave him zero style and hardly cut his nails. They also did not evenly cut his hair as he has tufts of hair around the base of his tail that are a completely different length. I was shocked when I saw him. Neither groomer was friendly when we walked in, I was hardly greeted and the groomer that took my dog she had a less than pleasant attitude, literally zero personality and apparently zero experience either. Her nails are also incredibly long and pointed- not necessarily someone you want handling your 15 year old dog. Music was blaring and it felt like an inconvenience for them. I'm so disappointed and will never return. (If you are on any of the Ladera neighborhood pages I HIGHLY suggest you search them on there and post asking for personal experiences. I love the self wash station! It is easy to use and they are always willing to help. The last time I went in with the intention of using the self wash for my dog, within their posted business hours, the groomer didn't have any more scheduled appointments so she was closing the business and turned me away. I found this frustrating and as if I wasn't as valued as the customers who pay for a grooming. My dog doesn't require any clipping or trimming so I opt to do it myself. read more

Very upset over the grooming experience my 1 year old GoldenDoodle has this past Friday. He had to shaved down due to being matted which I completely understand but to shave him down until he is bleeding and in pain is not okay. My puppy was so traumatized by the experience he hasn't been acting the same since and has been in pain. We recently went to Posh Paws for our puppy's first hair cut. The owner did warn me that since it's her first time she may not be able to give a full hair cut. After a couple of hours I received a phone call that she was ready. I was surprised when I picked her up that she wasn't groomed at all except her eyebrows being chopped off. The lady said she was too wild to do much. I was a bit bummed but was shocked when I heard the cost....$65!! The length and shape of my dog's hair looked exactly the same as when I brought her in and the wash and blow dry looked worse than when I do it myself - - her coat was flat and curly as though the lady simply got the dog wet and just let her air dry. When I got home, my husband saw our dog and asked why I decided not to have her groomed. That was the tipping point and I decided to call Posh Paws to get a better idea of what, if anything, was actually done for my pup - - I learned she didn't even clip her nails or make an effort to clean her ears, plus when asked directly whether she expressed her glands she said "I tried"... I also learned that a full haircut would only cost me $10 more...So, what did I pay $65 for?!? I know many have positive reviews of this place and perhaps my experience was unique, but based upon this I don't believe we will be back. read more

Very disappointing encounter with Pollyanna today. She cut my dogs hair a few months ago and I was not happy. She shaved her ears completely (she's a cavalier so she has long haired ears usually) and told me they were too matted. I brush her ears regularly... in 7 years of having her a groomer has never had to shave her hair completely. Coincidentally, this was a day that they were very busy, and instead of a 2-3 hour appointment, they had my dogs for 6 hours. So clearly they were in a rush. Regardless, I brought her back in to give them another chance. I told pollyanna that I was not happy her ears were shaved last time and that I did not want that to happen again. She immediately got defensive and said they only do that when they are matted. I told her I have never had any groomer do that, I brush their ears regularly, and reminded her it was a day they were very busy and had her for 6 hours. She told me she would "never keep a dog that long" and then went over to the computer and looked up the appointment. After realizing she was wrong, she said "oh ya, I remember that day".... So I asked her, if you ever plan to shave her hair off completely, please call me and don't do it . This apparently was too much and Pollyanna told me that I would have to call and reschedule with someone else because she was uncomfortable and I was being "rude". She said she didn't know why I came back if I was so unhappy last time. Seriously?!!! Ok.. I won't be back. read more

I am upset with our experience at posh paws today. We brought our puppy in for his first haircut and they only bathed him and clipped his nails and said they could not do any grooming. This is understandable as he is a puppy but I was already worried about this after reading a previous post about this happening and that customer was overcharged for it. Once they finished, they called me and told me it was still going to be $86 for what they did which seemed very highly-priced. My fiance went to pick up our puppy and they charged her $103. I was really hoping to have a better experience here and find a long-term grooming service. read more
