Very disappointed in the service my parents fur babies have received from Salty Paws. Both are small elder babies and very easy to handle. From the hair cuts that are an absolute joke. Short in some spots long in others. A picture was even shown to show their normal cuts. No nails trimmed on either visit even after it being brought to their attention. Then the fact payment is demanded before you even see your baby is a bit odd. Never again! read more

We had an appointment 7 days in advance but when I dropped my 85 lb great per off they told me that were swamped so it would be 3-4 hours 5 hours later I came to get my dog and they had just finished bathing her. She was in a small for her kennel for 4 hours even though we made an appointment 7 days in advance. Over booking your business is never a good idea but that is abuse in my opinion to my dog when she is brought in early only to sit for 4 hours +! I will not return even though they tried to wave the cost of the bath and blow dry, she was still wet by the way. They should have put the other dogs behind mine if they were over booked but my dog is so laid back she doesn't act up even after 5 hours. We had been coming here for years but no longer. I will not put my dog thru that again. read more

I had gone here 3 times with my poodle for easy maintenance, no design but short overall length hair. The first time, the experience was fantastic and my dog was happy. Unfortunately, the next time, i noted the time and the quality was markedly worst, but it was still passable. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. The 3rd time i brought her there, the wait time was almost 5 hours and the estimated time done was beyond by hours. When i called to see what new time estimate, they told me 15 minutes. In the background, i heard her screaming in background. Not barking, but actually screaming. I went there and waited for her, the door to room now was shut and i waited until she was done. I couldn't hear anything now but muffled movement in back, my guess is she was now muzzled so she would yelp while i was there. When she came out, she had incomplete amateur groom job, poor quality, clean and raggedy. Her face and feet weren't trimmed, her nails untouched, ear hair untouched, and her head shape flat and short. She was shaking and scared to death!!! Unbelievable!!! The contrast from the first time i was there was polar opposite! I always wondered why not any other people there with dogs, now i know why. I now realize the first grooming excellence was the fluke, the next groom was below average, and the final groom was poor quality and horrible treatment of my dog!! It's a very small salon so the talent/ handling/experience of the groomers would be obvious to all. I will never go there again, never recommend them, and i think they should get out of that line of work!! If you care about your pet, at all, stay away!!! read more

They have either gone out of business or will be very soon. My wife has tried stopping by 3 different times in the past week, during business hours, with our dogs and it is locked with no one coming to answer the door. Tried calling multiple times each day to make an appointment and no answer. The voice recording and online show that they are open, but this is clearly not the case. Sad, considering this is the most convenient spot to bring our dogs for a quick nail trim and we have been coming here for a few years now. Wish they would put up a sign and change their voicemail to let their loyal customers know the situation. Guess we will have to find a new place to take our dogs. read more

if i could give zero stars i would. Cut my dogs dew claw off and didn't even tell me. Man handled her so roughly she tweaked her back legs. when i called about the dew claw the response was "whoops forgot to call about it" do not bring your pet there if you care about them at all. read more

I just found this place by having lunch at a place next door. I called them the next day to see if they could groom my miniature schnauzer this afternoon. I was happy to hear they could take him right now. About two hours I had an wonderfully groomed dog! I was certainly very happy with the job they did on my fur baby and will definitely be going to Salty Paws in the future. read more

I find it odd that my review was removed so in the interest of pet safety I am reposting in hopes it saves someone from my experience. Prior to our visit today I would've rated this salon high, however that all changed when I picked up my Miniature Schnauzer. We have used them in the past for this dog so they are very aware she has a formerly dislocated leg which required surgery. Also they know how we like her clipped, my husband even went so far as to tell them to clip her just like they did last time. Imagine my shock when the dog came out fully shaved except very short eyebrows and and uneven beard... no feathers, no skirt, and tiny tufts of hair left Willy nilly around her feet. When I called them to find out why they shaved her I was first told she was "very matted." She was not...as a matter fact we have had multiple compliments in the past week just how beautiful her coat and she is). When I called them on that lie, I was told she was "uncooperative and nipping at us." (They have never told us this before) so I said why didn't you notify us if you were having all these difficulties? I was told, "well we have procedures and she wasn't that bad." I said if she wasn't that bad why did you shave her to the skin everywhere. I told them the cut was the worst I've ever seen (I've had Schnauzers since I was 2 and I'm now 55. I was then told, "I agree the cut is terrible, but she was flailing around so it's the best I could do." I again asked, "why didn't you call, you know she has a medical issue with her leg if she was flailing around she could have dislocated it again and have to have it amputated." The response, "I don't know what you want me to do, she also had fleas and I didn't charge for the flea treatment." I have happily paid for the flea treatment in the past and would have this time. What do I want? I want the courtesy of a phone call if my normally calm wonderful dog is behaving strangely, I want the cut I am paying for or a call to give me the option of having you do something else or not cut her at all! We have taken our dogs here 3 times. All 3 times they were not able to trim nails, or complete grooming because they couldn't manage my dog. I understand that they don't want to "hurt" the dogs, but I am seeing an unwillingness to complete the groom, but still be charged for the service. Yesterday I dropped off my dogs and I get a test saying "dogs are ready at 1pm). My daughter in law packs her boys in the car on a rainy day to go get them - she gets there and they tell her they won't be ready until 2:30pm ??? I get home and my dachshund doesn't have her nails painted - I asked for this and paid for this. They said we tried and she didn't like it. I will find another shop that has modern equipment that works with difficult dachshunds? I asked how much for nail painting, etc. I was told about $60 total - I would think that nail trimming, painting, groom all included in this price. read more

Such a great grooming salon!!!! So easy to get into and they're fast. I have an elderly dog and love that I can drop her off and pick her up quickly. I also have a labradane who comes in monthly for a bath and shave/desheading which saves our house from being covered in fur. We hardly see any fur anymore. We've used them for over 3 years and the last 6 months service gone downhill. First they cut our daughter's dog dew claw and didn't tell us until she called and asked about it. I chalked it up to new front desk girl and she didn't know, although we were told that Whitney would call our daughter back and I asked for a call no one ever called us -again I thought new employee issues. We had appointment set for our 2 on Sat Oct 8 and had 2 text confirmation that we had 8 am appointment. My husband went there at 8 to drop them off no one there no sign on door nothing he waited for 15 min and came home - he did call and it said they open at 9 so thought maybe hours changed and didn't tell us even though text clearly said 8 am. He went back at 9 and waited 10 min and no one showed up we left text messages and facebook message (which you can see they saw as it tell you they saw it and they saw it) and no response from anyone pretty bad service - we gave them so much business (our 3 and recommended them to sooooo many people) it's like they changed ownership and went downhill or something not impressed at all. Tried to call again today to get some kind of a explanation but just went straight to voice mail I didn't even wait to leave a message as they never called back to begin with.
