We wanted to try fun Dominican food for breakfast and this was our option! This place was a little…read moretricky to find since the sign apparently blew off the roof and the old, previously covered sign said it was a pizza place. But, I don't give up easy and we were on a mission to try something new! The inside is spotless and very well decorated. I was greeted by Kai who kindly took my order. At first, I ordered a meat lovers omelet with chorizo and other tasty meats. Second, I ordered a veggie omelet for me. Kai was very helpful. But then, I realized I wasn't really sure what a Dominican would eat for breakfast. I asked what a Dominican would eat and Kai, his mother Heidy, and a customer all explained the answer was the Mangu breakfast. Without even knowing what it was, I ordered it. The enthusiastic customer told me he gets it multiple times a week! We all chatted for a while. Heidy explained it includes plantains, pickled onions, eggs, fried cheese and chorizo! Wow! That sounds interesting and wonderful. Heidy and Kai were so gracious and welcoming and I truly appreciated their hospitality. As for the food, it was flavorful and plentiful. We really enjoyed it and honestly, couldn't finish it so we saved leftovers for dinner. Welcome to the Dominican Republic in Tampa, specifically Temple Terrace. Wow! We can't wait to try something else! Life is good with wonderful, hidden, authentic food and enthusiastic, friendly and gracious service.

First off the person at the front doesn't even know what they serve. Then the menu is an old piece of paper. My wife ordered Los 3 Golpes and portion of sausage was ridiculous. It was a small slice of sausage cut into 3 pieces. I had pepper steak and it was all onions and peppers with almost no meat. The rice was hard and nothing really had flavor. Complete disappointment for $35 lunch. Oh and the place is dirty and the bathroom looked like a crime scene.

And it shows. The owner does everything, from take your order to cool the food. There are two wonderful employees that are the first thing you see when you walk in. And they always greet you with a smile and your name. They'll remember your favorite Disney movie and gave you the newest Harry Potter updates. They take an interest in you, from passing a test to passing a kidney stone. The food is amazing. There is not a bad thing on the menu. Everything is made to order and fresh. Breakfast is served all day. Pancakes are so fluffy you'll think you're Agnes Gru from Despicable Me. The sunrise sandwich is the most amazing breakfast sandwich I've ever tasted. It's like waking up in a cabin and overlooking the Rocky Mountains in the spring. The house club is delicious. I've never tasted a club this good. But again. I say that about everything in this deli. And the soup. Oh. My. Gouda. The red pepper Gouda is the last soup you'll ever need. Even in 90 degree Florida Christmas weather, you'll have no problem swallowing down this magical soup. They have specials that change on a weekly basis. They have coffee that is regular and flavored. Everything can be customized to fit your diet and flavor needs. Remember, this is a deli.
