Stop your searching and hire Salvador! He was very responsive and professional throughout the whole planning of the event. The menu he created was on-point, interesting and most importantly delicious! Order the sea bass in the beurre blanc sauce, was heaven!!! Dec recommend 11/10 hiring Salvador for any event!

    Hummus Trio

My husband and I wanted to do something special for our anniversary dinner. Since our travel and dine-in options were limited due to the pandemic, we opted for an elegant dinner at home. A friend suggested hiring a private chef, so we started researching and contacting various local Long Beach chefs. We generally eat a pescatarian diet and prefer local/sustainable foods when possible. We contacted Savaldor to discuss our palate and food preferences. The price was within our budget for the evening, and he gave us a few options for the menu along with drink pairing recommendations. All of the options provided looked amazing, but we eventually decided on the hummus trio, followed by the lobster mac and cheese, with Sea Bass (one of my favorites!) as the main dish. Dessert was a fabulous Mamey Creme Brûlée. I hardly have the words to describe our meal. The food was delicious, rich and decadent, and very thoughtfully prepared. In addition to the superb plating and presentation, Salvador provided a delightful end-to-end experience. He brought in everything that he needed in advance and made the best out of our small kitchen, even incorporating fresh herbs from our garden. The dishes all offered a fresh spin on familiar favorites and the portions were very generous. Salvador provided full table service, brought beautiful printed menus for our meal, and did a spectacular clean-up job afterward (the kitchen was sparkling and cleaner than it was when he arrived!) Overall we are incredibly happy with the experience and thought that it was well worth the value. Thank you to Salvador for contributing to our special night!

Had to do something special for my wife's 60th and thought a personal chef preparing and serving - AND CLEANING UP! - would be a great experience. I called several personal chefs that popped up on my yelp search and Salvador was the first to reply. The other chefs I called got back to me after several days of at all. I liked Sal's vibe and he ideas he threw out so I hired him. GREAT decision! He showed up with a team of 3 - him, Alberto and Rosanna. They are THE NICEST PEOPLE you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. And man can they cook!!! He built a menu starting with 3 different types of crostinis, then an amazing yellow beet salad ( that my wife is still raving about), the main course was Chateaubriand with Madeira wine sauce, potatoes, green beans and baby carrots. The desert was Mamey Creme Brûlée that rocked everyone's world. The pacing god each course was spot on, the flavors were amazing and the service was top shelf and they left the place spotless. I HIGHLY recommend him and his team for a special event you are considering

I've never baked a single thing in my life, but by the end of Teri's walk-through (and with lots of friendly guidance), I had a beautiful 4 tier cake to leave with. He's eaten a piece daily since and can't stop talking about how good it is-meanwhile I can't stop talking about how much fun I actually had with Teri. She shared the recipe so I can make it going forward and I think I can actually pull it off thanks to the education I got at Chef Tech!

They are currently in the Italian week camp and have made homemade pizzas, pastas and sauces from scratch, flatbreads, salads, sorbet, cookies, etc. My kids are 9 (twins), but we also brought friends this summer. One is in his last year of middle school and enjoyed the class just as much as the younger kids. Truly, such a wonderful experience for them! Thank you so much, Chef Tech!

With rotating cuisines, this particular week catered to Italian fare. My choices were the shrimp bruschetta, poached sole & panna cotta. Shrimp bruschetta- A large shrimp on top of bruschetta, placed squarely in a plate of fennel broth. The broth was an interesting take, as the bruschetta soaked it up & became slightly mushy/slightly crusty. Poached sole- A large fillet of sole, paired with carrots, asparagus and fennel. I could taste the sole was previously frozen, as I've caught & cooked sole, which is a fatty & flavorful fish. The fillet could've used more sauce. Panna cotta- A winner! The pulled sugar was fun to eat, providing a contrast in texture to the creamy panna cotta. Service was excellent. My friend Alex invited me to a dinner party at her vacation rental for her birthday. She mentioned having a private chef for the occasion, but I had no idea the experience I was in for. I was presented with a menu created by Chef Amanda with a detailed description of all items and ingredients. My dinner choice was the Spicy "O" blackened filet mignon with the NOLA styled crab cake. I have shellfish allergies but Chef Amanda gladly modified my dish so that I could indulge without an EpiPen. IT WAS TO DIE FOR!!!! I actually think I died and went to heaven. I only came back to life so I could lick the plate. I wasn't the only person with a dietary restriction. She also had a vegan option ready for my friend who failed to RSVP with his choice. She was more than prepared, and I was more impressed. She really demonstrated her attention to detail. She cooks and cares for you like she would her own family. She made feel like family. She is the perfect hybrid mix of Southern Hospitality and Professionalism. I definitely asked my friend Alex for her contact information after that dinner party. Since that trip to LA; I've used Chef Amanda for parties and nutritional advice. I have a lot of friends going vegan and referred them to her as well. She is extremely versatile when it comes creating personalized menus. Her flexibility and flavoring is why she is an amazing personal chef.

My two kids were enrolled in the School of Caroline for the Spring semester 2026. They attended one class and at the end of class at pick up all the parents and kids were on her lawn (she dismisses from her front door) and as we were getting ready to leave she notified me that my 5 year old son "nicked his finger" (in her exact words) during class and that she put a bandaid on it. Based on what she said and how she communicated it, I expected it to be a small cut on his finger. I didn't think anything of it. When we got home, I eventually removed the bandaid and came to find out he had nearly sliced the whole top of his finger off. He ended up having to wear a splint and keep if completely bandaged with antibiotic ointment for weeks for it to heal. Was my issue that my son hurt himself? No. Kids get injured all the time. My issue was with her lack of communication and failure to recognize or admit that it should have been handled or communicated any differently. A few days later, I received an email from her stating the only way we (and everyone else in the class) could continue with her class is if we signed a release of liability and waiver. If we didn't sign it, kids could not attend. After asking some follow up questions about the waiver and how she plans to handle situations like this in the future and her being completely defensive I told her "if you can't recognize that my sons injury was not "minor" and that it it probably should have been handled in a better way then I don't know if this class is for us." She mentioned that anyone that did not want to sign the waiver would be refunded "for the remaining of the semester." That is what we decided to do. Once the refund was processed, I realized she charged us for another class we did not attend. When I questioned her about this she said it was because we pulled out 24 hours before the class. Though she had never once mentioned to us that this was a thing. I debated whether or not to share anything online. Especially because my kids actually really did enjoy the class (beyond my sons incident). The class itself would get a 5 star review like many others have said. I really wanted to make it work and asked her if we could please resolve this in a good way because I would really love my kids to be able to attend. The issue became more about how she handled a difficult situation, her lack of transparent communication with us, her defensiveness and dismissal through the process, and her failure to follow through with what she said.
