I took it here to see if it could be fixed and if not could I recover any data from it. The answer was not what I was hoping for, but the evaluation was done quickly and the customer service was excellent. He was able to take my flash drive apart and found it was NOT 1TB. There were other things wring as well. I was not charged anything since he could not recover any data. I hope you never need this service, but if you do, i recommend this place. Also, never buy a cheap flash drive off Amazon.

WeRecoverData WILL SHARE YOUR DATA. I'm astounded at this company's lack of responsibility with its…read moreusers' personal data and information. Whenever my data recovery was complete, the company sent me the list of files on ANOTHER CUSTOMERS hard drive. This is obviously breaking the contracts confidentiality clause, but even worse, they are leaking very sensitive information about their customers. When I tried to bring this up with a manager, they tried to play it off like it wasn't a big deal because they only sent me file names, and not file contents. After that, they simply ignored the issue altogether and did nothing to try to fix the situation. Even though WeRecoverData tried to claim that leaking filenames is not a big deal, the data they sent me contained the following information about the other customer: First and last name of the customer. Where the customer lives. The first and last name of the customer's wife. The names of all of the customers 3 children. The name and location of the school and universities the 3 children attend. The name and location of the place of employment of the customer. The customer's personal, and work email. The customer's search history dating back to 2007 (Including some very graphic websites...) The hard drive also contained tax returns for the entire family, which, had they also sent file contents, would have had their social security numbers, and possibly bank routing and account numbers. This is a disgusting misuse of personal data. Not only did WeRecoverData break the confidentiality clause of their contract, but they are disrespecting the the privacy of the entire family. This company's carelessness and negligence puts their customers at risk for identity theft.  This gives me zero confidence that they didn't also send my personal data to someone else, nor that they haven't had an incident like this in the past with other customers. Hard drives contain all of the most sensitive data on your computer, and when it comes to hard drive recovery, choosing WeRecoverData means you are putting all of your data at risk of being leaked.

As a student at UT, I am truly unimpressed with their level of service. I submitted an online ticket and dropped off my laptop. I heard no update all weekend or on Monday, so I called on Tuesday morning when they opened at 10 a.m., stating I would be picking up my laptop and looking at other places to get an estimate. SURE ENOUGH someone had picked up my laptop right after I left a voicemail stating I was unsatisfied with the timeframe, received no updates on my laptop, and was taking my business elsewhere. I was charged $50 for someone to "look at it" when I didn't want the service anymore. I had to pay the $50 to get the laptop, and I called THREE different numbers multiple times to stop the process, but that was clearly ignored.  This business is no good for UT students who need their laptops fixed quickly, efficiently, and at a reasonable price. They were going to charge me $300 for service and replacement. In comparison, I went down the street to 1Up Repairs and was quoted $170.  Overall, I am frustrated with receiving no updates, finally getting in contact with someone after the service I did not want was completed, and the service charge of $50 that was not known unless you scroll to the very bottom of the website and then it states it in very small letters. They scam people out of $50 and try to say, "It says it on the website and every time we call." Well, I never received a call back from the 15 calls and voicemails I left until the inspection was completed, so I never got to hear that they would charge me $50 for an inspection.
