If you own a Mac, do not... I repeat DO NOT take it to computer geeks for repair. The in house tech…read more(Reginald) doesn't know anything about them, but failed to disclose that info or recuse himself when I took my MacBook Pro in to have the hard drive replaced. I only figured it out after he returned my Mac with OS X 10.5 on it!!! Instead of returning it with what I had- MAVERICKS, he gave me an operating system from 7 years ago?!?! When I asked him about mavericks, he said he hadn't heard about that? C'mon red flags... Anyway, it actually got worse! Not only did he return my MacBook with NONE of my software, but after charging me 50$ for data recovery, I only had a folder with files from my desktop.. Hardly useful. I couldn't even open iTunes because it required the latest QuickTime, which I also didn't have any longer... To make matters worse, my MacBook shut down a few minutes after initial start up! Trying to be sure it wasn't a dead battery, I promptly plugged in the power cord and it came on. I went on trying to restore the thousands of dollars lost in files and software, but that was short lived. The next day, my laptop wouldn't even come on! Urg... I head right back to computer geeks! The lady working that day said that Reginald was out of town and asked if I could wait till Monday. Of course this was most unfortunate because I had already waited two weeks, but I had no choice. Reginald called me on Monday to say he thought it was an is sure with the 'power ribbon' and would call me back. I waited three days and he finally called me back to say 'the computer is not coming on'?!?!? HELLO, I already knew that! Anyway, he took two more days and called me back to say he had spoken to the owner and that they didn't want to fix the Mac but would refund me the 129.00 for the hard drive... Mind you I had also paid over 200.00 in labor from the inept, but at this point I just wanted the nightmare to end. I quickly headed over to the store with my receipt, but when it was time to give me my refund, Reginald realized that I had paid in cash and now said 'this changes everything'... Urg! Again, more incompetence! I asked to speak to the owner but he wasn't there, so I asked that he call me... It never happened. The next day.. Yes another day, the owner showed up and wrote a check for 130.00.... Please do NOT take ur Mac to computer geeks! I took mine in and ended up with 200.00 less in my pocket and a completely worthless machine. Reginald destroyed my MacBook Pro! I'm filing a report with the BBB and I will do everything in my power to warn as many people as possible!

This is a shady business. The guy at first was really nice and told me he'd back up my hard drive…read morefor $50, then when I went to pick it up, he insisted on cash. First he told me that he'd already shut everything down so he couldn't ring up a credit card. Then he told me if I wanted to pay by credit card, it would cost $85. He was pushy about me "going to get cash" (he said "it's just $50"), then he said that he can't charge less than $75 if it's a credit card. That sounds to me like "if I ring it up through the register, it has to be $75." I didn't ask for an under the table deal. When he quoted me $50, there was no mention that it had to be cash. I told him it wasn't right for him to change the price that much just because I'm not paying cash. He finally rang it up for $50.33 and accepted my credit card with a snotty remark.

Fixed the charging port on my iPad Pro 6th gen…read more The 6th gen iPad Pro has a flimsy but expensive screen that needs to be removed to replace the port. So many repair shops either didn't want to bother or quoted a ridiculous, "eff-off" price just to send a message that they didn't want to work on them. He did not. Very knowledgeable and friendly "nerd" owner with a great, customer-oriented attitude. And he underpriced the competition by almost half! (My suspicion is that the others break a lot of screens doing this repair, so they build in the cost of making a mistake into their price; whereas he is careful enough and uses methods to not break the screen so as to not need to build the cost of his mistakes into the price.) FWIW, I have high standards, sometimes think I know too much, and can ask too many questions. Mike indulged me on all questions regarding a simple iPad repair and then some. (Other repair shops didn't want to talk about their methods or ideas). Cleaned my iPhone port for free, too! Very good communication of the risks and options for the iPad repair. I recommend them very highly to my friends, and now to you.

The guys at Free CheckFix took my problem in stride and found a way to get my printer to communicate with my computer. When returning home with my working system I was trying to shut the truck door while holding the brother laser and promptly dropped the printer on the driveway and trashed it. Mark and David found a new Brother Laser and a new CPU that could run windows 11 and together they were cheaper than what I paid for the old laser printer. The prices were low, service high and attitude was positive ............... I'm very lucky I discovered them
