After calling and being told of a delay due to medical circumstances (which was completely acceptable),they eventually scheduled a consultation for 2/22 at 11 am. On the day of the consultation, despite putting up a "please knock" sign on my door at 10:55, I received a text at 11:05 stating the representative had come by early (between 10:45-10:50). I was told the national cell phone outage impaired our connection. If this were the case, why would he not try again to knock on the door at the time of the appointment? I called the owner after the initial text, he admitted he did not try again at the time of the appointment. He indicated he was now headed to his next appointment at 11:05! I was very disappointed at his lack of effort, especially being that I had given him so many chances to even schedule with him. After expressing my disappointment via text, I received no response or follow-up as promised.I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED SHARP WASTED MY TIME ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. We do like the overall look of the landscaping, and I think EJ wanted the project to turn out well, but there were several issues that made the process frustrating. We were told the project would take 5-7 business days, but it ended up taking over a month. Communication also became difficult toward the end. The fountain was the biggest issue. It wasn't working properly when the project was considered finished, and the electrical cable was left exposed instead of buried. After we brought up concerns and shared suggestions on how to fix it, communication completely stopped. We were basically ghosted with multiple issues still unresolved. We also learned during the project that this was EJ's first fountain build, which explained a lot. In the end, we rebuilt the rock structure ourselves, reduced it to one fountain feature, got it working correctly, and buried the cable ourselves. There were also a few other problems: Some of the backyard plants already appear to be struggling in the heat. We were told both front-yard trees were dead, but one later started blooming after the other had already been removed at our expense. Our irrigation system was damaged during the landscaping work and had to be repaired afterward. Trash was thrown over our back fence during cleanup, which we had to clean up ourselves. Overall, the landscaping looks nice, but the delays, communication issues, and lack of follow-through left us very disappointed.

HOMEOWNERS BEWARE! I would not trust this company anywhere near my property. Everything seems…read morefriendly until they damage something. Unless you have cameras monitoring every square inch of your place they won't take responsibility for it, likely because they are uninsured. I was a customer for over a year before they broke a large window of my house which will cost $700-800 to fix. When I asked Maria if they had insurance to cover the damage, she immediately got defensive and basically accused me of fabricating the whole story. I had been home all day and had seen the window intact just a few hours before they came to mow and had found it broken later that evening. While they were mowing I heard rocks and debris hitting the windows, which is their standard practice. No one else had been to my house all day and I didn't hear anything hitting any part of my house after they left. However, Maria insisted that the window had already been broken for a long time. Instead of trying to keep my business or offer any sort of solution, she claimed that they did not mow anywhere near the house that day. Even after I showed her a video from my security camera proving that her worker used a weed eater in a bed of river rocks right in front of the window that they broke, she demanded I produce a video showing the window breaking. Without 100% proof she was not going to believe me, even though she had no proof to support her claims either. When I called out her worker for blatantly lying about using the weed eater in front of the window, she just stopped responding. Not one word of apology, not $1 offered to help cover the cost of the broken window. Not only are they extremely unprofessional and completely dishonest but they have no business being in business. I was constantly having to remind them to mow/trim things that were in our contract because they would just pick and choose what they wanted to do on a weekly basis. Unsure why I stayed with them for so long except they seemed nice enough and Maria was easy to communicate with before this all happened. Needless to say, I have gladly taken my business elsewhere. Also if Maria tries to deny any of this, I am happy to post screenshots of our text thread along with videos of her workers mowing in places they claimed they hadn't been when they broke my window.

One of their arborists came out and reviewed the tree and recommended removal and was beyond saving. I was sad to see it have to go, but it was going to be danger soon as the disease progressed. They even gave me recommendations on replacement trees that would be more hardy in the future. They made it out the same day to quote and cut it down. It took them about an hour to take down a 30 foot tall maple tree. They also ground down the stump. The area was cleaned up and the mulch spread out. I was very satisfied with their service and the crew. I've got their business card now in my fridge for future needs.

The local tree companies were overwhelmed. Several good out of town tree services leaned in to help folks in Austin after the ice storm. SP Tree was one of them. SP Tree Service had excellent recommendations in their home service area, and made good impressions with neighbors here in Austin. Their bid was competitive in price with other vendors, and much better than the price of many similar vendors both local and out of town. They offer all the attributes of a first class company - insurance, excellent communications, good equipment, employees instead of contractors. Bottom line - we are delighted customers. They were accurate and upfront about the scope of their work. Two of the owners came to write the bid, and they returned on the day of the work to supervise the excellent crew. SP Tree's communications, emails, quote system, and overall business structure were impressive, friendly, and efficient. They were accommodating to small change orders. For example, we requested cleanup of one additional tree, and it was quickly added to the quote and fairly priced. They even brought their own stump grinders and gave a fair price for grinding out the stumps of trees we had to remove. We had 9 big, tall trees that needed heavy pruning, and 3 that needed to be removed. One removed tree was a giant black walnut tree in the woodsy part of the back of our yard that had been hit by lightning a few years ago and died. We've used several yard and tree services over the years but this team was the best by far! Their qualities were: * Friendly and professional to talk and work with * They have the credentials and skills to do the high tree limb work, and the experience to take down big, dangerous trees safely, and with uncanny skill of directing where the tree will fall without doing damage to anything else. And, they use very good safety gear. * The team of 6 showed up on time, everyone worked every minute they were here, and their obvious skilled teamwork was truly fun to watch as they took down the big trees. * They have the machines to do a good bit of the really heavy work: Tree climbing gear, tools with backup blades, etc, in case something breaks, stump grinder, a small backhoe to lift out large trunk pieces or piles of brush, a large brush collection truck, etc. They came fully prepared for the job they bid. * They did everything in the bid and more, and they cleaned up completely. We realize this is long, but we actually haven't had a services company in a long time that we wanted to praise so much. SP Tree Service won't give you the cheapest bid, but we felt our large job was very reasonably priced for the quality of execution and of service and for the ease of working with them. .
