After finally seeing the doctor, I was then told that this office does not offer sedation for children and that we would need to go elsewhere for treatment. While I appreciate being informed of this, I am incredibly frustrated that this critical detail was not discussed when I initially scheduled the appointment. A few simple questions at the time of booking could have saved us both time and money. I was unaware that not all periodontists offer sedation, and this lack of communication made the experience feel misleading. To add to my disappointment, I was told--without any real concern--that I was still responsible for the estimated consultation fee, despite the fact that the office was unable to provide the necessary treatment. This entire process was a waste of time and money, and now I have start over with a different provider.

It was a difficult case. She was surprised I had not felt more discomfort from the infection before coming in. She worked for quite a while to remove all of the decay, as it was a hot mess. She kept the area pain-free for me during the procedure. (And...bonus...I had more energy once my body was not fighting that infection.) Afterwards, she presented me with options about what I could do next. I opted for a dental implant. Her wonderful, efficient staff presented me with an accurate estimate, explaining how and why any treatment charges were slightly more than my dental coverage. (It's nice to know this information in advance.) Again, each subsequent procedure was painless. In my case, there was minimal swelling and bleeding. I'm sure each patient's gum condition and healing outcome is different, but I would trust Dr. Hamal to be able to navigate those differences. She is practical, empathetic, forthcoming...an experienced, skillful professional. I highly recommend her.

She claimed she was joking because she couldn't pronounce his name, but I found that comment disrespectful and unprofessional, especially in a healthcare setting where patients should be treated with dignity and respect. I immediately requested a different staff member and was assisted by Bella, who was kind, professional, and completely changed the atmosphere of the visit. I also brought the situation to the attention of Austin and Dr. Maria because I felt it was important for management to be aware of what occurred. While I appreciate Bella's professionalism and the office's willingness to switch staff members, the initial interaction left a very negative impression. Patients should never feel disrespected because of their name or background. I hope the office addresses this issue and provides better customer service training moving forward.

He talked through the options and clearly explained. The staff and everyone I spoke were great. Treatment plan is pricy and a more than anticipated but am confident in what we need to do. This location doesn't discuss preventive care much with patients, so it is important to make sure you ask them, to keep the work they do intact.
