Such a fun and unique wine-tasting experience at Sama Cellars in Redmond! We tried both the Light & Bright Flight and the Mixed Flight, with five tastes in each. My favorite white was the Rhône Blanc--not too dry, with a light citrusy touch that made it really easy to enjoy. For the reds, the 2023 Grenache was definitely my favorite. The location is a little unexpected for a winery since it's in a shopping center next to Starbucks, but I actually loved the setting. There's nice outdoor seating right by the kids' fountain, which makes it especially convenient if you're visiting with little ones. Inside has a completely different feel--quiet, cozy, and perfect for a small gathering or even sitting with a book and a glass of wine. The coolest part is the presentation! The tasting experience feels a little like being in a wine lab. Your pours come in little test tubes, and you pour each one into your own glass as you taste. Went here last week and was really impressed! Sat by the window, it was nice and bright inside. I'm a big Rose lover, so I got the light and bright tasting flight. Our server was great, super knowledgeable, and personable! All the wines were delicious as well. Normally in a flight there's always one or two wines I don't really enjoy, but I can honestly say they were all great. Love the option of choosing my category of tasting (I'm always try to avoid the reds haha). All the wines were served in a test tube, which was a fun experience. We had such a lovely time at Sama Cellars! We had a 1 PM reservation on a Saturday and were the only ones there for most of our tasting, which made it feel so calm and relaxing. It was such a nice way to unwind and honestly made for a really fun date with my fiancé. Elisa was absolutely wonderful. She was so sweet and incredibly knowledgeable about the wines, and we had so much fun learning about everything we were tasting. We got to try some of their newer releases, which was such a fun part of the experience. The Viognier was definitely my top favorite. I loved it so much that I ended up getting an extra splash at the end, which was so kind of them! The Cinsault was interesting because we were told to expect cherry, Jolly Rancher, juicy and fresh flavors, but for us it came across a little more bitter and dry than we expected. The Grenache reminded us a lot of the Block 9 Chateau Ste. Michelle Cabernet Sauvignon, if you've ever tried that one. We also got the charcuterie board to snack on while we tasted. The grapes were especially crispy and fresh, and it was nice to have something to nibble on, especially because I was so hungry by the time we arrived! I had read some of the previous reviews about the board, so I came in with fairly low expectations. It definitely wasn't the most elaborate charcuterie board I've ever had and probably wouldn't be something I'd order again for $20. It felt more like a pre made snack box than something especially memorable. We still completely finished it, though! The space itself is so cute and beautifully designed. We happened to go on a sunny day and the natural light coming through the windows made it feel especially bright and inviting. It was comfortable inside and never felt too hot or too cold. I also love that Sama Cellars is right in the heart of Redmond Town Center, so it's really easy to make an afternoon out of it. There are so many shops and things to do nearby that you can easily browse around before or after your tasting. Overall, we had such a lovely afternoon. The service was wonderful, the atmosphere was peaceful, and it was genuinely just a really enjoyable experience. My partner and I shared a free flight for a Yelp event then bought a bottle of one of the top tastes. Elisa was a kind, informative host on Saturday, 12:30. We had the whole place to ourselves and sat near the large windows. Elisa gave us time to look through the menu then promptly brought our red flight and explained each wine to us. As a past chemist, I loved the test tube presentation and connection to the winemaker's bio! We also liked having all 5 wines at once to go at our own pace. My order of preference: CDR, Syrah, Grenache, cinsault, cabernet. My partners: Cabernet, Syrah,CDR, Grenache, cinsault. Other things to note.. the music was . I enjoyed reading about the many meanings of SAMA in the menu. The winemaker, Chaz, has a great bio in the menu as well. We had a lovely time. Shelly was lovely and knowledgeable The wine is good for tasting if you like reds and syrahs specifically. The overall feedback is aesthetic nice and tasting room is clean. I liked that they offered N/A drinks too. The vibe is ok, a bit too quiet for me and I think the room would benefit from a white noise machine and more music so it's not so quiet. Very nicely decorated with a mid-century modern aesthetic, this cellar-style tasting room almost makes you forget you're in a shopping mall and feel more like you've escaped to Woodinville. The ambiance is warm, stylish, and surprisingly transportive. I picked the "Lite and Bright" flight since I'm usually not the biggest fan of Washington reds and tend to think the whites are often the stronger offering here--and this flight definitely did not disappoint. The Monsoon Sparkling Rosé, Röhn Blanc, and Viognier were my favorites, and I ended up taking home a bottle of the Röhn Blanc. It's such a good white blend, made with 70% Grenache from the Columbia Valley--lightly sweet, citrus-forward, crisp, and very easy to enjoy. I also ordered the white cheddar ranch pimento cheese spread with crackers, which paired especially well with the last two wines in the flight and made the tasting experience feel even more complete. There was only one person working during my visit, but she was incredibly kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. She shared her personal favorites and experience with the wines in a way that made the tasting much more interactive and fun. Did not intend on going out for wine, but after watching a great movie and not wanting to go home we found ourselves here entirely by happenstance. It was a quiet evening, so we sat at the bar and soaked in the ambiance which had that balance of modern minimalism combined with rustic flair that PNW often fully embraces. I tend to love it. We spent over an hour here drinking wine flights and talking to the sommelier who walked us through everything about the wine. And when I say everything, I mean everything from soil conditions, growing regions, the grape varietals, and the history of Sama. I felt educated on all things Sama by the end; a passion project of a PhD biochemist with a tech background who fell in love with wine. Sama concentrates on Rhône wine varietals so think about syrahs - bold, full-bodied red wines. If you want a light fruity white wine Sama likely shouldn't be on your list. It is always wise to check out what a small wine producer concentrates on before committing because they won't cover every single wine varietal in a single region. But if you love syrahs or you simply enjoy a fabulous night of sipping on red wine while talking with friends, Sama should be on your list. read more

My friend and I stopped by for two tastings during a Yelp event. Parking here is super easy as it's in the town center with a garage. Upon entering we were blown away with how cute the space is! We had a super cute table reserved but opted to sit outside since it was sunny and warm. We chose the light & bright and the mixed flight as well. We ended up falling in love with the sparkling monsoon and the chilled cinsault. Both untraditional and unique wines! You're sure to find something you like here as they have a large variety of delicious wines. She shared they are known for their syrahs and Rhône style blends. Finally got to try this place out and was so impressed! The space is so cool- we got to sit on one of the green couches and it was so vibey. They had several tasting menus to pick from, I ended up doing the red flight because it was a chilly day and I wanted to try more reds. They bring you two in test tubes to enjoy, then 3 more once those are done. Because of this serving style, it isn't a huge pain for people to order different tastings for one table, which is nice. The service was kind and informative, but my friend and I still felt like we had a lot of space to catch up and enjoy our time together without being interrupted too much. Who would have known that there was a tasting room hiding out in Redmond Town Center? We visited on a Saturday afternoon for one of their wine flight tastings. As the tasting room is located in RTC, there's plenty of parking available in the retail parking garages. The space itself was clean, open and bright, and I love how much natural light comes in. Elisa took care of us that afternoon, and it was fun to hear how Sama Cellars grew as the owner's passion project. My husband and I both tried the mixed wine flight - his favorite being the Rohn Blanc, while I enjoyed the Syrah. We also ordered a little charcuterie box, which came with an assortment of cheese, crackers, fruit, the best fig spread and meats. Alissa was kind enough to top us off with extra crackers as well when we finished the original crackers. I brought my son with me to try Sama Cellars at Redmond Town Square on a nice Saturday afternoon. We had the pleasure of having Lisa as our hostess who is super nice and knowledgeable of wines. After tasting some wines we settled on purchasing a bottle of the Charu (Rose of Grenache). My kids like the whites and a bit sweeter wine so this one checked both of those boxes. Sama Cellars is in a great location with lots of parking, some outdoor seating and a beautiful interior. The wines were outstanding as is the story of how they got here. While they're a new spot I'll give it some time to develop, but seem like they were still establishing as a winery. The Venue was nice. Prices were kind not understandable the way they had their price listing and the way their flights all had the same stuff on it so there was no real difference on the flights all mainly reds and the two options were too similar. I would recommend creating new flight options with red as one and whites as another. The wine wasn't bad. It was actually pretty good wine.
