My only suggestion would be to add more weekday classes during the early afternoon (around 11 AM-3 PM), as there are limited options during that time. Instructors are great and have a great set list. I've been coming here for a few months now and its addicting.

The studio itself is really nice, and the location in La Cañada is gorgeous. My critique is that…read moremany of the teachers at this location seem inexperienced. The classes are consistent because everyone follows the CorePower formula, but I rarely leave feeling like I deepened my practice or learned something new from a seasoned practitioner. A lot of the instruction feels more like executing a system after certification than teaching from years of personal practice. The flows are fine, but there's often a lack of depth and adjustment you tend to get from teachers who have spent a long time immersed in yoga beyond a corporate training pipeline. You notice it in things like teachers forgetting where they are in the flow or struggling to keep pace with the class they're leading, and overly commercial playlists that create more of a fitness studio atmosphere than a mindful one. Overall, this feels more like yoga for people looking for a workout and a pleasant atmosphere than for those seeking a deeper practice. You might describe it as "McYoga", but maybe expecting more from a national corporate chain is unrealistic. And that all said, there's one or two teachers there who actually do know what they're doing.

They offer good classes. However, don't expect much compassion…read more I used to go to the ODD in Silver Lake and have been going to the ODD in Eagle Rock semi regularly since I moved out here. I used ClassPass. We recently had a baby and it's been hard to get fit postpartum. I booked a pilates class, but unfortunately was rushing around just before (you know how it is when you have a window of opportunity to get things done with a very young baby!) Blame clumsiness, blame sleep deprivation- I fell down our stairs. Had to go to urgent care and got put in a boot and on crutches. Unfortunately it was within the no cancellation window for the class. So I concocted a plan - I'd send my mom, who was in town helping me with our baby, to take my class. She'd get a treat and a thank you for all she'd been doing for us, and they wouldn't have a gap in their class. They say the reason you can't cancel is it hurts their business to have a gap last minute, and that's fair, but if you send someone to take the class you paid for, I figured that would take care of them too. I was thinking if she liked it I'd get her a membership for the months she is here helping. Win win. NOT how it worked out. My mom came home very upset - the lady at the desk was mean to her even after she told our story and called me on the phone. The desk lady acted like we were trying to scam her. Ultimately they wouldn't let my mom take my class, so she paid full price for her own. They told her I'd cancel my ClassPass so I wouldn't get charged - well, I just got charged so that was a lie. The whole experience left a bad flavor in both our mouths. I know they didn't have to help, but they could have been nice. They talk a big game about compassion and good energy in classes, so I guess I was hoping for some of the same in a tough situation. Honestly, even after enjoying years of their classes, I don't think I'll go again. It's hard to relax and be in the right mindset in a place where they were mean to your mom because they could. So, yeah. They'll talk a lot about compassion in class, but they will stick it to you even if they're not getting hurt, if they have a way to. It's too bad bc I did enjoy their classes and they have good instructors. But in the end it's all just business. Update: in response to the owner's response below, I do not believe it, because other studios on ClassPass HAVE canceled without charging inside the cancellation window (most recently when my child was born unexpectedly three weeks early), and I sent my sister to take a different class after I got into a bicycle accident a few years ago and that studio didn't cause any trouble. So in addition to how they treated my mom, they're just not telling the truth here and I removed another star because of that. There's a way to do it and they chose not to. I understand not being casually flexible, but on rare occasions there are actual unpredictable emergencies, and in those cases, studios can claim "policy" to refuse or they can show compassion. This is the type of studio that claims to be a place of community but when you actually need community, they go corporate. It's fine if you know that's how they are; it's a nasty shock if you actually thought it was a community.

I absolutely love this studio, mainly because in most classes, I LEARN something about my body…read more Paul's classes, especially, offer such depth and understanding of biomechanics. Nothing beats the intelligence of the Iyengar system, imho! I will say that Paul has a unique way of balancing his precise knowledge with a very spacious accommodation, which is TRULY the art of an engaged teacher. However, there are other instructors here (I won't name names) that unfortunately trigger my sympathetic nervous system with their tone, and overuse of the word "should." As much as I try to get past this, my breath and body just become tight, and I don't move as freely with overly managed instruction. Yoga House could be one of the last studios on the Eastside that uphold the integrity of a yogic learning environment. As a yogi of 25 years, and an instructor myself, I recommend the Iyengar classes to anyone working to heal injuries and those who want to deepen their practice. It's not a miracle, but a more serious approach to yoga can be transformative, on many levels.

A True Sanctuary for Mind, Body, and Spirit…read more I can't say enough wonderful things about Pasadena Yoga House! I recently attended the class for people with mobility challenges, led by the incredible Peggy, and it was truly a transformative experience. As someone living with Lupus and Muscular Dystrophy, finding a movement space where I feel safe, seen, and supported has been a long journey. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed--not just by the staff, but by the beautiful community that gathers here. There's a genuine warmth in the room that you can feel, and Peggy's presence and guidance made all the difference. She was patient, attentive, and so compassionate, offering helpful adjustments and making sure each student felt comfortable and included. The studio is clean, calm, and absolutely beautiful. They offer plenty of props to support your practice, and the meditation beginning and at the end of class was the perfect way to wind down and reconnect with myself. It's rare to find a space that honors both your limitations and your potential--but Pasadena Yoga House does just that. If you're looking for a welcoming, inclusive, and healing space to move, breathe, and just be--you've found it. I wholeheartedly recommend this studio to anyone, especially those with mobility challenges or chronic conditions. I left feeling lighter, supported, and truly at home.

I've been a long time member of Corepower so I've had my fair share of hot yoga, and it makes me appreciate the way that hot 8 operates - they have multiple types of classes - I tried Strength, Yin, Sculpt, and they're all fantastic. The membership feels so worth it because of the variety of classes and the multiple rooms/times available. I will definitely be returning. Shout out to the front desk staff - they helped me solve issues with my booking process (my fault) and were so kind/patient when exposing the different classes to me. Oh and shoutout to Allison Chiang - the Strength instructor. She brought the energy and spent time on form correction. So key! Finally - there's free parking with validation in the building! Makes it so easy to commit to the practice.
