Read the other reviews! They are so true! This place is a concentration death camp, I was sent here back in 2015. I ended up at Beaumont Botsford for depression and OCD, The social worker there said to me, she was going to send me to the worst place to get my crap together and boy she did! I remembered that morning when the am EMTS came, they told me they were taking me to Samaritan in Detroit. When I got there, there were already patients fighting against each other and I was getting a massive panic attack. They stripped me of everything, and placed me in a room with this roommate who had severe schizophrenia who screamed in the middle of the night! They only gave me one blanket and one flat pillow, and the showers... don't get me started, they were absolutely disgusting! It looked like there was rust or poop on the wall in the showers, and I never took a shower for 10 days when I was there. I just washed up because those showers were so gross. The psychiatrist doctor was a sociopath, he wanted me to stay longer! By the 4th day I was feeling better with my bad thoughts and med adjustment, and I was feeling good enough to go home. Nope! They will make you stay and milk your insurance! The doctor kept saying to me, "if you keep asking I will just keep extending your stay." and he did! I stay there for 10 long days, it felt like hell!! The patients who got upset, the nurses and techs gave them and held them down to give them a haldol shot without their consent. It was so disturbing seeing large men tackle women just to give them a injection. They were knocked out cold for days and did not even wake them up to eat meals. The food was absolutely disgusting, reminded me of jail food when I never even went to jail before. Very cold meals, never listen to your special dietary needs. You are forced to eat whatever they gave you. Group therapy, there was no group therapy!! If there was one, it would've been 1 once every 2 to 3 days later. There was absolutely no TVs (besides the one in the dining room, but shut during those times) or clocks on the wall, so you did not even know what time it was. I swear this place is a prison disguised. I was forced off my anti anxiety medications when I got there, they were going to make me get off xanax cold turkey but thankfully my mother called and balled them out saying that you have to slowly wean me off. They are trying to kill you there! The techs would record patients having meltdowns with their smartphones, and when you try to tell the nurses, they would gaslight you making you like you are insane.. My mother was trying everything to get me out, because they were making me stay longer than I needed. Like I said, I stayed in there for 10 days and the 10th day when I got discharge, it was the most happiest day of my life! I told myself I will never step foot in a psychiatric hospital ever again, and that was 3 years ago. I still have nightmares and flashbacks being locked up in there, please do not send you loved ones there!!! You are not doing them a favor by sending them there, you're actually making their depression and mental health worse.. I wouldn't send my worst enemy there, this place is a death trap and needs to be closed down! read more
