All was well with the food. It was great food. The place were very busy when we arrived, but was seated right away, our orders for drinks were taken promptly. The food arrived when expected. The white pizza was perfect, combo pizza was loaded with great toppings and the green olives were so delishhh and will be on all our pizza orders from now on, sweet heat wings are huge and flavorful like a Thai chili taste, Mozzarella sticks are the thick cube kind that hold up well and were delicious. This place has new owners and they've done a great job with the place. We have ordered from them 3 times in the last few months and the pizza has always been delicious, hot and reasonably priced. This place has become my favorite pizza spot. Only complaint is their wings. I tried them for the first time last week and I was not impressed at all. They seemed either old or just not fresh, they were also supposed to be hot wings and it seemed like they were made as bbq and then last minute, they threw them in hot sauce. My coworkers love to come to this location because they say it's the best pizza place ever and its convenient located near the base. The one occasion I came here, it was a full house, so it took a couple minutes to be seated. We were provided with garlic knots, soaked in garlic sauce, which tasted amazing. I'm not sure if they were complimentary or if someone ordered them from our group. I ordered the calzone with two toppings special for $7.99, which was great!!! I didn't order the pizza because I'm oddly particular about pizza and I knew ahead of time that it wasn't my preference, but the calzone was very hefty and filling. Second time ordering from here. First time I gave them 4 stars, mainly because I thought the delivery driver was so courteous; but this time... I called and was put on hold by a man, no big deal. A woman picked up about 45 seconds later and soooo abrupt and rude. It's 5:47 on a Thursday so not like it's a Friday or Saturday rush hour. I ordered pizza delivery. NO WHERE on the menu does it say there's a delivery charge! $2.00. OK, no biggie (though they should TELL you). I wanted to tip my driver on the card (I always give $5 for their gas and earnings) ... Not only did she not ask BUT She hung up on me before I could even mention it! I dug up a lousy $3 for the poor guy's salary. I ordered a large cheese pizza with bacon... Yuck! 45 minutes and I live 1.8 miles away. Sooooo much bacon that it's just bacon, bitter sauce and dough. I'm very unhappy. It's just awful! I mean very yucky! I've ordered here before and the food was great. I have to agree with another reviewer, the lady who takes orders is so rude! The place clearly states it offers delivery yet when I said I'd like a delivery and she said umm it depends on where you are located. Well I've had delivery before with no problem. So if I wanted a delivery I'd have to wait 2 hours for my food. WTF Sumter is not that dang big. The service here is terrible and I won't consider them in the future. Further, I'd fire the lady answering the phone. She will continue to steer paying customers away. With the current situation it is, it won't be hard to belly up. read more

Good food, awful service. They've probably lost hundreds in sales from my family alone by their lack of ability to manage orders by phone; when they do answer the phones they aren't friendly. This is probably the best pizza you could hope to find in Sumter, SC. The cheese they use is phenomenal and the toppings (the sausage especially) are on point. Not many pizza places here in the South can rival this flavor and this is coming from someone who has eaten at many, MANY pizza joints up and down the eastern seaboard. . My boyfriend and I were staying the night in Sumter so we decided to try Sambino's. We were quickly seated and brought some garlic knots soaked with olive oil & garlic pieces. I quite enjoyed them, but they were a bit doughy which might turn others off. My bf ordered an anchovy pizza and I ordered their seafood alfredo, which came with a Greek salad. The salad was excellent, with plenty of feta cheese and solid dressing. More katamala olives could have improved it. As for the main dish, I quite liked my food - fettuccine with tons of crab and shrimp! Really big portions too which was awesome. I do love butter and seafood so I enjoyed my dish, but I can understand why others might complain about "drowning" things in sauce and not allowing for an authentic taste. My boyfriend wasn't a huge fan of the pizza. The crust was rather doughy and cardboard-like, and they actually loaded the pizza with too many anchovies so that it was too salty. However, the prices were good for the large portions that we got. Unfortunately, service was incredibly slow at the end, which (along with the issues with the pizza) caused me to take off a star. I would probably give ~3.5 stars if I could do half-stars. read more

And the food is just meh! I was very excited about trying the garlic knots from all the reviews, but I was not impressed at all. The garlic knots did not have a garlic taste and were dripping in butter. My husband ordered pizza and I ordered pasta. My husband said his pizza was fine, but not great, and my pasta had no taste. For Sumter the pizza is 5 stars. Anywhere else it's pushing 4. As others stated the garlic knots are delish as well. So why the 3 stars you ask? Order from the rest of the menu and you will see. The pasta sauce was worse than Prego, my chicken was vastly overcooked, and my friend's stuffed sea shells were covered in way too much cheese and cream. Everything on the menu is smothered with cheese and butter and although most of the items are Italian in nature, there is no creativity or personal chef touch on any of the dishes. It's like they don't want you to tasted their subpar ingredients so they just throw some extra cheese on it to cover it up. You expect to find these things at the Olive Garden, not a locally owned small Italian restaurant. I did notice someone eating a sandwich that looked fairly decent. I recommend you stick to the Pizza and forget about their so called "Italian" menu they have. read more
