Stopped by to try the pizza and chicken wings. The pizza was really good, fresh, flavorful, and definitely the highlight of the meal. The chicken wings were okay, but they could use a little more seasoning to bring out the flavor and also preferred that the wings are all evenly sauced. Overall, it was a decent experience, and I'd come back for the pizza while hoping the wings improve. The service was good, the guy with the mustache was really funny. I only came to pick up so did not dine-in. The inside of the restaurant was well lit, updated amenities and had a nice patio on the side. Also, the new location is down the street, took me a minute to find the place. We went here for the first time since they moved into the new building down the street. Got there right at 11AM as they opened and the waitress took our order quickly. We split a large Philly Cheesesteak and had an order of onion rings. The rings came out in about 15 minutes and there really weren't many onion rings in the metal plate they were served in...maybe 6-8 onion rings. She also brought ketchup with them so we asked for some ranch sauce to dip them in....she brought that out to us. The Philly steak came out a bit before 11:30 and we thought it took a little long to make a cheesesteak. Along with the Cheesesteak she brought out another order of onion rings and said she thought the first order really didn't have enough onion rings. I was impressed that she was aware of it. We weren't really impressed with the cheesesteak. It was very "wet" mainly because the cheese was so runny. It was a light colored cheese, not sure what type, and the meat was very finely chopped up. The bread was good and held up to the wetness of the sandwich. My wife ate about half of her half and didn't like it. I considered it just "ok" and probably will try their pizza or another dish next time. I like the atmosphere of the older place more than the new building. It seems very cold..lots of large windows, small metal chairs and tables (no booths), and plywood ceilings (noisy when crowded according to friends that have benen there). They do have a nice patio outside...just wish the inside was more inviting. read more

Our ROMEO group (11 of us) went here for the first time since they moved to the new building. We arrived at 11:20 and there was a nice table along the left wall with a long bench and seating for all of us. The restaurant was fairly full. It's quite a bit different than the old place, being well lit with large windows and a real nice deck on the outside. They've got a bar with several tv's and along the left wall are two large televisions. Looks like they've got a little more seating than the old place. The one thing we noticed is that the acoustics were very bad. It seemed awfully loud and hard to hear across the table. Several of us mentioned this. In looking up at the ceiling it was basically just plywood and hadn't been painted yet. Hopefully they will do something with the ceiling to cut down on the noise. Along the top edge of the walls on the left in it looks like it's black painted aluminum about 1.5 to 2 feet down the wall. Seems like this could be changed or something put over it to help dampen the noise also. The waitress took our drink orders and came back and took our lunch orders. Two of us ordered the Philly Cheese sandwich with home fries. We had one hamburger order, about 3 pizza orders, and two sausage sandwich orders along with some more sandwich ordders. They had one cook going and two waitresses. It was 12:30 before we recieved our food. Everyone was getting a little concerned that it took so long to get the food. The pizza was given various ratings...one was a basic plain pizza and the crust was very crisp and topping was quite dark. It was over cooked and the crust was very crisp and almost too hard to bite at the ends. One person ordered the meat pizza and liked it a lot. The Philly Sandwich was good. Ordered it with jalapenos on the side. Three of us tried the home fries and were not pleased with them. They were crisp and not soggy (good thing) but they just didn't taste as good as most home fries. Maybe if they had been warm they would've been better. The waitress was busy and really didn't come back through and check our drink orders for most of the hour we were waiting. She finally did right before our food started coming out. This has been one of our favorite restaurants in Elgin for the previous 4 years, but I think we came away disappointed with the new restaurant...mainly because of the wait time and the acoustics....and the pizza wasn't as good as it was previously. We will come back again but maybe give it some time to get things working better. For this visit our overall rating was a 3.2 where previously it was closer to 4.5 - 5. read more

From the exterior, you would never know how spacious and relaxing this restaurant is. Amazingly delicious pizza, fresh salads all in a low key bar atmosphere but perfectly suitable for families. My only issues were with our service. The servers were super sweet but no silver ware was provided with our salads even when we asked we still waited and had to retrieve our place settings. The wrong salad size was brought and the server had no idea on wine offerings. It's the difference between a good restaurant and a great one. If you liked the old tonys you won't be disappointed same food nicer location and clean. 1. Chicken salad was great, fresh crispy. 2. nachos are a hot mess. Edges burned can't pull a Nacho out to eat without 1/4 of the cheese coming to. 3. Ordered wing basket sweet and sour. Tried it for the first time at their new location (02/18/26) - nicely done inside and out including parking, a good variety of menu options, lots of TV's showing the Olympics, and the patio will be great place to sit and enjoy this spring and summer Im sure. I'm on the fence because the 10" pizza was made using a pre made/frozen crust. The toppings were good but the crust was rock hard at the edges when baked. Fresh dough made in house is not an option for a pizza place, and a deal breaker for me. When it was served I was not given or offered utensils or a plate. I ordered a side salad as well. It didn't come out before or with the pizza. I was told "it will be out soon" and I didn't want it as a dessert, so I just asked for it to be taken off the bill. It wasn't. I caught that before I paid and they took it off. It's an almost 30 minute drive so I don't know that I would go out of my way to go there for pizza, but might try something else if I'm passing through. My first impression of Tony's, is a very good one. My family and I dined in a very cozy corner. I enjoyed the rustic feeling it had when we walked in. We started off with some mozzarella sticks that were absolutely delicious! My waitress was attentive at bringing my beer with our appetizers. For our main event, I had a 10 inch chicken bacon ranch pizza, my daughter and son-in-law had the Philly cheese steak sandwich and wings. My grandson had his own little cheese pizza. Visited 5/1/26 for the first time and the last time! I ordered a LARGE meatball sub and the meat was in thin slices. There were no meatballs, and if you totaled the slices of meat, I would say that I had 4 small meatballs at most. Additionally, there was very little cheese. I'm used to a meatball sub where you get some meat and some stretchy, pulley, drool-worthy cheese when you bite into your sandwich. What little I had tasted okay, however, the bread was soggy. The product was not commensurate with the cost. I felt like we got a bait-n-switch. Also, although my husband and I placed our orders at the same time, my husband had eaten over one-half of his pizza before my sub arrived. It was our first time here. We did delivery and had three pies, garlic bread, fried mushrooms, chocolate cake and tiramisu. Food was absolutely delicious and so were the desserts. Unfortunately my tiramisu looked like someone ate half of it on the way to my house. Ordered takeout. Pepperoni pizza 16in extra pepperoni for only 1.00 and 10 buffalo wings cooked well done. Both were excellent!! I might would like the wings crispier but I'm sure they didn't want to dry it out. Just wish they came with celery. Hit them up for dinner recently and it was delicious. My son and I had a large meat lovers pizza and an order of wings. Initially I called it in for a delivery but the young lady told me it's be almost 2 hours! When I told them I'd come pick it up it was reduced to an hour. When I finally got to the restaurant I still had to wait about 29 minutes! If there was a negative this would be it. The food was good and even when I went to the restaurant the staff was nice and friendly. It was just the wait for the food that was drawback.
